Regarding African Daisy, they are super easy to propagate. Take cuttings and strip off a couple lower leave nodes and literally, stick them in the ground. Keep watered for a few weeks and done. Works better during non-hot months. 😊
Your garden is beautiful. I am in zone 9B in Florida I understand the heat. I'm still not use to all the sand here but I'm learning. Thank you for sharing.
Nice to find a gardener in my same Zone. I'm also in the Central California area...Modesto. All too often I watch a video on plants only to find out, nope won't work in my area. I want to do a dianthus border like you did. I like how you mixed the three colors. I may have to borrow that idea :)
Thank you. I really do appreciate that. 😃 Our heat is so different from others that get hot - since it just doesn’t cool off during the evening. By 8-9 am it can easily be north of 85-90. I’ve been so impressed with the dianthus! It’s south facing and it hasn’t skipped a beat. Good luck with your border. Thank you for watching. 😊
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and beautiful garden. I just found your videos and am so excited that you are in my hardiness zone 9b. I am further north in California near the Yuba City/Chico area and am trying to learn what can grow in this hot climate. Seeing the success you have had with plants has given me lots of inspiration and I am eager to start my new garden.
Thank you 😊. When I was a young kid we almost moved to Grass Valley, a little east of where you’re at. These hot summers take a toll on plants. Slowly, I’m learning what plants and their placement do best during these months. I think I’ll do an end of summer tour to show what has survived. 🤣🥵
I just want to thank you for sharing your garden updates. I just love to watch them There is always so many new things to learn from each other. I also love to garden and make gardening videos too. I would love to learn more from each other as we grow!
Your gardens are just beautiful. Love the petunias at your walkway. We’ve been having excessive heat in Southwest Virginia too and so much humidity. Your plants are looking great even with the heat. We have lots of trees so I know what you mean about cleaning up for a video and then a few hours later more stuff has fallen. I did subscribe ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! 😃 The heat certainly does affect many of the plants. I’ve not filmed a tour post summer to show what has survived. Maybe I should. 😳 I cannot imagine the humidity. We have family in Arkansas & Tennessee. I believe they have humidity as well. We’re looking forward to fall. That’s when we begin to plant more perennials. Thank you so much for watching & subscribing. 😊
Thank you 😊. They give such a beautiful show during the summer. I wish their blooms lasted longer. NC…. I’ve never been, however I hear it’s so green over there. We visited Louisville several years ago and all I kept saying was how green it was. 😊
You need to do more drought tolerant plants with lots of mulching for your zone. Mulch, Mulch, Mulch!! I don't see any mulch. Annies Annuals has some drought tolerant plants that you can order online.
Everyone reading this, I just want to let you know that JESUS IS COMING SOON. As most of us can contest the world is getting darker every day. We all broke our creator GOD ALMIGHTY laws and owed a debt we could never pay but GOD loved us so much that HE sent his SON JESUS to die a death he did not deserve for our sins paying it for us. IT IS FINISHED!He loves us so much y’all! Hell was never made for us! We are called to REPENT, admit that we have fallen short (sinned) and put our trust in the promised savior JESUS and ask him to be our LORD. HE will give you everlasting life with HIM! HE change my life and part of my purpose on this earth is to share HIS good news(GOSPEL). I LOVE ALL OF YOU! REPENT AND TRUST IN JESUS!❤✝️
Hello. Beautiful garden. I live in zone 12-13 Puerto Rico. Always warm or hot. Please when you mention the name of a plant like in your front gathering of plants…not sure which ones you are referring to. A pointer would be appreciated. Thanks an take care.
I know. 😩🤣 I have chosen not to mulch because we have 3 mature Camphor trees that drop leaves everyday from March to November. We rake our flowerbeds around 3 times a week. In the past when we’ve mulched, I’ve ended up raking it all up. 😔
@@birdhousegarden Have you tried using a lighter powered blower? I've seen people have success just blowing the leaves off, leaving the mulch in place. Just a thought
Hey there, I live in the Central Valley also. Does your Sunshine Ligustrum get some shade during the day or are the in full sun? I’m about to plant some, but I’m concerned about them handling our full sun!
Super tour, it’s not easy in zone 9 to keep a garden looking fresh and inviting, looks great!
really pretty, thanks for sharing
Thank you 😊

Thank you. 😊 I will try that this fall.
Good luck. Your garden looks great. I suffer from the same climate, maybe less days, so thanks for inspiring what can be. Have a good day.
Thank you. We're looking forward to the cooler weather. Have a great day as well.

What a beautiful yard! You've done an amazing job!
Thank you 😊
Just beautiful. I was even able to follow the names when you called the plants out by name. Always a treat.
Thank you 😃

I’ll definitely do an end of summer tour. Most of the garden is surviving the heat. 🥴Thank you for watching!😊
Love your wheelbarrow planter!
Thank you.😃 I bought that years ago when Orchard Supply was around.
@@birdhousegarden How funny! I think it’s the very one I admired at an OSH years ago, but it was sold when I went back. 😁

I agree. I mulch more now than I did a few years ago. Thank you for the Annie’s Annuals suggestion.😃

Beautiful! What is the name of the tree in your front yard? The smaller one near the house? The 1:36
That is Strike it Rich rose tree. It’s a beautiful apricot color. Thank you for watching. 😊

Hi 👋… Yes, they receive shade until 12:ish. Then they are in the sun the remainder of the day. They definitely can take our heat. 😃
@@birdhousegarden Thanks for responding! Do you remember what brand they were? I ask because I see some at nurseries that look better than others.
Yes, they are from southern living. It’s a light green can. I hope that helps. I bought mine at Green Hills Nursery.
