Hello everyone. I don't normally comment but this brought tears to my eyes. My beloved husband also passed away on 23 April, 2024. So this episode was very poignant. Especially when she said, "Peter said "I'm really sorry that I have to leave you after 50 years ." " My husband passed away on our 36th wedding anniversary. He was an architect and I love my home and garden as it is a constant reminder of his intelligence and love for our family design. Thank you Alison for knocking on the door of Maryly's house and inviting us into her home and garden. I learned so much and loved her gentle disposition and love for their beautiful life and home. I think I saw a hummingbird in the background at about 28:13??? Not sure as we do not have any in our area. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.

The same garden gate, planters, and peak of your roof showing through the lush vegetation. I was on vacation there (I live in Idaho), and happened to be walking by and was captivated. Thank you for allowing me to see the rest of your garden!

Love the woman and her beautiful garden and home. Gardens are such a sanctuary, and hopefully this one gives her much peace. I love Coronado. I have a treasured silver teapot from the downstairs shop at the Hotel Del, which I got when my sons ship came home into Coronado from the war. I will never forget that day. That front garden bed ,with the white picket fence ,is the perfect cottage feel. So beautiful. The white arbor and the large terra cotta pots are pure charm. Her gorgeous rose collection is incredible. So many things I relate to. Born and raised and grew up in the Bay Area . My first apartment was $105.00 a month in 1968 too!!!! When I tell my grand kids, they can't believe it. Just love everything about her, her story, her home and garden. I know it must be so hard being there without Peter. But I am sure the memories and his spirit are there everyday. The magic lives.

I absolutely loved this tour and it had special meaning to me. Maryly is living my dream. I grew up in San Diego county and my mother would often drive us to Coronado to sunbathe on the beach. We'd stop and get Charburger's and then enjoy them on the sand looking out to sea. I often daydreamed about the beautiful estates across the street. Coronado would be my dream place to live. Maryly's gardens are Spectacular. The best I've ever seen. My mother's friend, her gardens, made it in Better Homes and Gardens, but Maryly's are even more beautiful than hers. The Dahlias are phenomenal. Her home is beautiful too. I enjoy collecting shells and minerals/rocks as well. I'm so very sorry for her loss of Peter. Losing one's soulmate is one of the hardest things to endure. I felt her pain and it brought tears to my eyes. This video is a wonderful tribute to Peter and his legacy and to the life that they shared. The family photos are priceless. I wouldn't say there isn't any crime in Coronado though. Anyone who steals flowers from Maryly's beautiful gardens are committing a crime. Shame on them.🏵🌼🌺🌻🥀💮🏵🌸🌹💮🏵🌷

I saw the post with photos of her front garden last week and immediately recognized her home as I was lucky enough to live on the island between 2007 and 2010. I lived in the cheapest dilapidated apartment on the island on the busiest road and loved every second of it. Living in Coronado and being a part of the community will forever be a highlight moment in my life ❤❤❤

Absolutely my favorite video. What a sweet woman. So sad she lost her husband it sounds like they were a great couple. Love her gardens and her house. I swear the one time I was in Coronado I had my photo taken in front of that house. How strange life is.

Thank you for this tour of your stunning gardens and beautiful home! I am so sorry for the loss of your husband Peter. Thank you for sharing a bit about him and your life together. You are a beautiful spirit yourself. So calm and gracious. I loved that your home is REAL filled with things you truly love. No designer name dropping. It’s wonderful that you have some of Peter with you always in your children and now grandchildren. ❤

Gorgeous, years of living a beautiful life. That pink in her foyer is beyond, so lovely and it makes me so happy to see it. Just Beautiful. I agree that you can feel the love of her husband and family all around her, she is the kind of person I would love to have as a neighbor and I would love to have her over as a dinner guest. Or we could grab coffee and hit the shops! Thank you so much for sharing. It's equisite.
