Pensioners have to bear the cost of the effect of inflation a year ahead of when they get recompense for it in pension increases. Next years increase is because of costs they are suffering today in prices. Energy prices are 30% higher than in 2021/22 so rather than it being £300 , it should be £400 to establish parity. Not cut. Pensioners are effectively £400 worse off not £300
