Migrants take not give whilst pensioners have given their all
Many still are giving. I know a few and ALL of them have had to become unpaid childminders for their grandchildren. Childcare is so expensive that if grandparents didn't help out, both parents could not work. That would be one less taxable income for the Treasury and probably one more family claiming universal credit or rent/council tax rebates.
There are others in my town who I don't personally know, but who I see working in the charity shops, running social clubs for others, helping out at food banks and belonging to local 'helping hands' groups - i.e. groups who offer to do minor DIY, mow lawns, give lifts, pick up prescrptions etc, for those who need the help.
They may not be in paid employment but I genuinely feel that if all of those I've mentioned above went on strike, the government would realise just how much they're still contributing to society, and all voluntarily.
They keep wielding the ‘younger people are paying for older folks pensions, line!’ Well who the feck payed for the ‘free at birth till the end of your life, NHS hospitals dentists and schools’ for those younger people? The bloody Pensioners!!!

Starmer might not escape Liverpudlians, though. I have friends in Liverpool and it's a place that has always struck me as one that stands with its own people. The Hillsborough disaster might be one example: very few places sell The Sun newspaper in Liverpool because of the appalling way in which it reported on the tragedy.
Starmer's fleeting appearance in Southport after the murders of Alice, Elsie Dot and Bebe didn't go down well - it looked little more than a photo opportunity - and if this coming winter is a harsh one and causes pensioners to suffer or even die, I wouldn't be surprised to see the current Labour government's stronghold of Liverpool weaken a bit.

The winter fuel cancellation has over the past four days cost me personally £1200. Neither me nor my wife are eligible, both of us being 77. However, we are just about alright Jack, relatively speaking, and I gave £300 each to four elderly and belt-tightened family members to make up for their being ripped off by that disgusting multi-millionaire scumbag in charge of us at the moment.
