I don’t appreciate Lyft rerouting me and not telling me where passengers are heading until after I pick them up
Cancel all of those right away
And not letting you touch the screen and see what you’re doing.
If I did accept and have 2nd thoughts, I’d never communicate with rider and give them any info or my name to use when it’s LYFT’s poor dispatch and constant threat of cancellation. Or they throw in something out of the question if you’re about to earn a bonus. It’ll be the hardest you’ve ever worked to earn the least amount of $$. If it doesn’t cost you.
I only accept trips that are 10 miles away or less in my market. I also will not take trips that are over 25 miles. The longer the trip, The less you make.
Thank you 😊
I just drove 19 minutes (13 miles) for an Uber pickup. I get to the apt complex and sit there 3 minutes and then 1 drunk guy comes out and says he's just waiting on his 3 friends, then he opens front door and asks if he can sit there. I (nicely) so no and then I said I can only take 3 people and I'm just going to go ahead and cancel anyway. He gets mad and yells at me. I got mad too and yelled back then he reported me to Uber apparently claiming I was discriminatory towards him. Not a fun Fri night. I get so annoyed by passengers not being ready when I arrive, I feel that if I've driven more than 5 minutes to come pick you up you need to be ready when I pull up.
If you see that somebody is stumbling or drunk or slurred words or intoxicated or for any reason cancel the ride for unsafe pickup, or some other thing because you should not be driving dangerous violent angry intoxicated and irritated disoriented medical people from a hospital that might die in your car it's all the same problem
Why did you drive that far when you aren't paid for driving to a location 😒
@@hockeycanada18 times were tough. $$$
A big part of the problem is that Uber & Lyft hide the ride info (that matters) from the driver.
The upfront ride request info should include:
- The pickup & dropoff locations.
- Total estimated miles.
- Total estimated time.
- Total estimated earnings.
Uber is able to give all this information upfront for UberEats deliveries (although it looks like they're now conditioning Eats drivers to having upfront info phased out).
They did do it but took away before they implemented this 5 trip bs
General location yes but not a specific locations. A bad could decline a ride and then go to the location and pick them up and do something bad. Overall not safe unless its generalized location.
@@KennyA09 I disagree. Drivers, if they're truly "independent contractors" have a right to know the *FULL* true details of a job offer before accepting.
Because there might be a hypothetical criminal someplace somewhere in the world doesn't change that.
@@MJSmithGroup agree to disagree but I think a general locations with miles estimate is good enough. There's no need to give out specific addresses if you're not even guaranteed to take it. And with rideshare there's no hypothetical about criminals. We all obviously seen the stories. It may be a minority but it's still out there.
@@KennyA09 If there is problem with criminals on rideshare platforms, (a) It's tiny, and (b) whatever of it there is, the vast bulk of it is riders not drivers.
It never fails, on a three or four strike they send you on a long ass pickup. I just learned let the passenger cancel by not picking them up. On average the passenger sees that your not moving, they cancel in about 5 minutes. During the time I’m waiting for passenger to cancel I catch up on email and texts.
How is it the Pax fault that Uber is sending you 20 miles away? The whole reason for consecutive bonuses is to make sure you pick up those long rides. They're not free!! My acceptance rate is about 20%. I dont chase those stupid bonuses that uber throws at broke drivers to make them take long ass rides. If you're one of those broke drivers, you gotta work for it, but dont fuck up a pax day by making them wait. They could be going to work, to school, or picking up their kids. Just shows the type of horrible person you are.
Good tip
U have to use the destination filter
Ok, if uber and/or lyft paid us to pick up a rider as same as when they are in our car then we'll be more than happy to pick up any trash dumpster u throw at us.
5 miles is my limit, but really i prefer rides within 3 miles. Anyone going father than 5 miles or 10 min for pickup is part of the problem along with the app even offering the ride to you.
I only fo far when i have a promotion to finish and running out of time lol
Even for a 10 mile for $25? That ride only will take like 20 minutes max for the entire trip and already made $25. Im new to Uber so trying to figure why people don’t take longer rides if the pay is worth it?
@@jacedragonbecause it is 16 minutes estimated to pick that person up, you do not get paid for that, if that person cancels as you're driving across a bridge to a different county you do not get paid for that, in this scenario you will also have to pay a $7 to $15 toll to come back to where you were, in this case you would have left a very busy populated area to go to a less busy area, also I don't believe that it showed where you're taking the person to which could be however far
@@mrhumboldthippyI’ve done over 400 rides now haha so I’m familiar with it. I get paid for tolls though. Uber reimburses me instantly. I’m averaging $60hr in Dallas and I love it. Esp those 4am-6am surges
@@jacedragon yes but I'm pretty sure if I drive over the bridge and that person cancels and I just want to turn around and drive back I'm paying for that toll, also I know it's a fact tolls do get paid but I don't know if it's mandatory of the Uber policy or whether the driver has to agree to it, because in the Uber terms of service that says I have the right to charge that rider for a toll but of course that's not possible for you to charge anybody anything
I find it irrepressible that they charge 300 for a ride to Houston and only pay me 146. I'm the one doing the driving, my car is getting the wear and tear, all they did was take the request and I accepted. I should have gotten damn near all of it!!!!
Don't EVER do that again!! Take 30 minute trips max.
They cut the pay on Lon trips. I stopped all long trips. A ride that paid 70.00 is now paying 30.00. Stop the long rides
To Houston from where just curious, I’m new and happen to live in Houston
I live in the desert, with many areas of unpaved, unmaintained dirt roads. Very hard on my car. And it could be miles and miles to go! But there are not a lot of drivers up here - a lot go to the city areas. I try not to refuse, because I realize I may be one of a few drivers who would accept these rides, and people need rides.
I refuse to accept rides over 15 minutes away. I don't get good gas mileage and usually after not accepting a ride 15-20 minutes away I receive a request 3-6 minutes away. I live in the city where there's lots of ride requests minutes from me. Uber and Lyft have to change their algorithms and route the rides to the nearest driver NOT drivers 15-20 minutes away. I've actually received 2 ride requests where the pickup location was 45 MINUTES away!! Of course I didn't accept them!
I generally don’t except rides that are farther away than the ride itself.
I turn on with 9/10 rides in the morning and start receiving request 12 miles 20 minutes over and over and over until I have 0/10 rides and I am driving blind! Once I start trip I start getting more shitty ride requests over and over and have 2 turn off new requests so I can focus on the pax and where I am going! I literally don't want the pax 2 see and hear me get pissed off at the UBER algorythm! I don't do Lyft no bonuses no trip info EVER! 5 miles is my max distance! I did 2 trips for Lyft recently! First ride $3 fair they put a pax in my que and did not tell me 45 min long trip to LAX Sunday after Thanksgiving! That will be the last time I drive for Lyft!
LYFT is suck .
You pick up a person 15 or 16 miles away for 4 dollars? Ridiculous...but uber and lift send that...they are irresponsibles people...they follow the drivers, they know where are they...so why they send that notification to pick up to far...Uber and lift shows that they don't care the drivers 🤔
You forgot the last combination, you may get rerouted and then the next passenger cancels the ride ... so on lyft you have to be careful
From SF to Corte Madera?? It's very so far away... no driver will take that ride. It's insane!! Maximum distance I drive to pick a ride is 3/4 miles.
Really thought y'all were gonna dig more into this. Like actually explaining by the numbers when it does/doesn't make sense. (e.g. accounting for Uber's premium pickup or the few markets Lyft pays a long pickup bonus)
As a brand new Lyft driver, this was very helpful - especially your 8 minute rule with Lyft. Now that I'm gold status, I can actually see how many minutes it is to get the customer and how many miles the trip will be after getting them.
Dont do lyft thet are 5cum8ags $2.50 cancellation fee after arriving and waiting 5 min, if they cancel on pick when ur about to get there u get squat for fee the reroute u most of time and they decieve on upfront fares, screw them, do uber uber bro then again i dont reccommend it either unless u have to, but staw away from lyft
I was on a streak bonus yesterday I had completed 2 of 3 rides. My 3rd ride gave me the Be Right Their text! If you don't make it 2 my car in 5 minutes I cancel based solely on lack of respect! So I cancel and drive away! They instantly resend me the pax that I canceled and I denied trip and lost my streak bonus!
This issue directly concerns my Uber past. Amongst my last Uber trip before being deactivated. My experience is that Uber often did not upfront tell you where you are being sent to pickup a passenger. after waiting online for a pickup order, the app comes on with direction to make turn by turn as called.after. miles later I was asked to make a right turn to a toll bridge . I went past the turn believing it was a misdirection. Then a reroute was called that brought me back to the toll bridge, again a shot past the bridge, it must be a mistake. Rerouted again and this time I decided to go through. I could have gone through no toll closer to where I was pegged at, and to the pick up. It was a long way out of town, and gf at into Mercer island. The passenger wasn't very happy, and then I got deactivated soon in after. By now, I had it with Uber myself. But,you never know exactly why with Uber. That was about 30 miles just to get to the passenger on completely wrong app misdirection.
Depends if im driving 10 miles and they are only going less. 5.00 a gallon fir gas in san francisco
Lyft tried to make me go 20min settings pick someone up for a 4min ride
Lyft is notorious for that shit! Who would ever drive 15-20 min for a 5 min ride?
Thanks for letting us hear your voice sir and your perspective point of view
I drive in the Bay Area and have had this happen to me quite a bit. Usually if I’m in the Marina district or Laurel/Richmond/Golden Gate Park and get a ping to go to North Bay (Marin, Sausalito, Mill Valley, even up to San Rafael and beyond), it’s a no go. Also happens when I’m down in the FiDi, near the Bay Bridge and I get a ping over in Oakland/Berkeley/Emeryville. I’m not going to take it. Makes no sense. I usually won’t take any ping over 10 min unless I’m in a rural area already. I drive a big gas guzzling luxury SUV and with these prices, that is not feasible at all. There’s a rare occasion I might grab one but that usually has the caveat that I know it’s going to be a long, money-making trip.
As far as CTB’s go, if I’m in the middle of one, there are ways to get around and not lose your incentive. You just have to be smart about how you maneuver these situations. Lyft/Uber are looking out for their best interest. So you have to make sure you’re paying attention to what’s best for you. Simple.
How do get ride streaks or challenges from LYFT ? THx
Great video, important topic. I work in what's called the "mid hudson valley" region in New York, Basically 1 Hour +/- north of NYC.
Interestingly Uber will pay me the time / mileage at .18 cents per min. and .70 cents per mile to get to a call let's say 20 minutes away minus 10 minutes. In other words, i get an additional 10 minutes of pay or in this example about $1.80 plus about $3.50 for the 5 miles or so in 10 minutes ($5.30).
Lyft does not give a dime for similar situation.
If I accept the call, I quickly text the passenger to find out what direction they are heading. If they are heading back to my "area", I'll take the call. If they are only going a mile or two "down the road", I'll respond "I'm not heading that way, please cancel me as soon as possible, you won't be charged". It works, but you have to act fast.
hello thanks for the tips I have a serious question how do we contact Uber Corporate office fir serious issues
To answer steve why accept the ride in the first place: when u do lyft, it automatically adds another resquest to ur Q as ur dropping off a current customer/rider. You dont see it till u drop them off
It's like you read my mind. I was just typing examples like to Virginia and Pennsylvania
7 min tops that's it. Normally unless I'm on a streak but even then it depends
I would pick up if there is a long pick up fee associated with the trip, If its late in my shift and I live in that direction, am I trying for a consecutive ride bonus, and how sweet the inducements are. Otherwise 3 min or 3 miles away rule applies. What do you say?
First off, I’m new (Lyft) and can’t see my destinations yet (I’m only Silver now). I was picking up my 2nd ride of a 3 ride, 1 hour streak and, after I hit the “Pick Up Passenger” button I found out the destination was 1 hour, 15 mins away. And I had to drive the same distance back to get home. I should have canceled the ride but the guy spoke 0 English, someone else booked the ride, and everyone else left and there was no one at the house. So now, instead of streaks, I focus on points so I can get to Gold, to see my destination beforehand.
I live in the Chicago suburbs and NEVER give rides to Chicago! I need to send texts or call to see if they are going there.
I hear you bro I went from naperville to downtown for $34 it was a 2 hour 10 minute round trip never again!
Anything call over 5 miles away to pick up I will deny immediately I don’t care. Any call within 3-4 miles to pick up is ok.
The situation has to be analyzed as it happens. I wouldn't do a ride that's more than 8-10mins away - UNLESS the ride is attached to a quest bonus. You have to ANALYZE the situation like this:
1) $18 for 3, and you're on the 3rd ride - and it's 12mins away. You're gonna get $6 for the ride from the quest, for completing it. Then the ride may have a tip with it, so that's additional money on top of the $6 guaranteed PLUS fare guaranteed. Now 12min doesn't seem too bad.
2) You're at the tail end of a 60 rides quest for $280 or something, so 12mins could be worth $280 to just complete it and get it overwith. Be done for the day, if you're already at the end of the day. Now you've got $250 for the fares for the day, the $280 for the quest, and the fare for this ride (and any tip). Now 12mins doesn't seem too far. 12mins to basically clear $500 on the day and you're done. Do the 12mins and be done with the day.
3) No quest attached. No bonus attached. No busy-section of town (or event area, like an NFL game or NHL game) this ride is taking you. If you face this situation, the 12mins is a lost cause. Don't even apply any thought to it. Decline. Wait for the next ride.
It just depends. How I feel what time of day it is if I’m in mood if I feel like it’s worth it how much money I’ve made already
Why did that guy have any communication with the passenger? Just cancel and move on!
My maximum pickup is 10 miles. If I'm in a streak or bonus area, I'll use the are filter to stay there and not go too far. When I set my radius, I make sure I am willing to go from one side of the circle to the other if need be.
Im in the Dallas market. I don't pick up people out my way or pass 10min pick up nowadays (pandemic). Pre pandemic 5min pick up
I would measure the gas milage it would take and measure how much to take to see my profit example I get 25/30 to a gallon if it's a 20 dollar trip then I'll make 15 dollars gain if it's easier and count the matter if I'm in a bonus zone
My decision on long pick up is based on traffic and time of day. Rush hours I minimize my pickup distance. When traffic is easy and fast ...I will open up my range.
FUN FACT ATTENTION HERTZ LYFT/UBER RENTERS, if you rent your vehicle from Hertz and you go over tolls not all tolls are mandatory covered by passenger or Uber and they will be billed to Hertz, hertz charge you the cost of the toll and they will charge you a processing fee of a minimum $20 per toll or per billing statement but it is a lot of money be prepared
In my book, the toll makes this a deal breaker, especially with the bridge. I flat out wouldn't accept it. This ride is a losing proposition, unless the ride itself is particularly long or going towards where the driver would like to be.
I'm accepting trips only 5 minutes way from me no even 10minufes away because their systems know how to play again us but I just ignored them I never have a conversation with my customers because they can take that against me in some ways so I just do what I want to do and right things of course good luck if someone acept that fat trip
Lyft prolly just added it to que. seeing something that far would have been rejected if I wasn’t distracted driving.
Why do you guys get re routed? Here in Pittsburgh it doesn’t happen much
I don't pick up any ride that is more than 8 minutes away.
SuperFANTASTIC 🔥🔥🔥…
A while ago a passenger on Lyft sent me a message that she was going into far western South Dakota. It was about noon when I got the request and this would have been about a 11 hour trip. I refused. I had another request an Uber about four months ago and they were going over 1000 miles away from Sioux Falls. I did not accept. I had one most recently was a 2 1/2 hour drive and it was 4:15 PM. I told the passenger that I simply could not go that far. The passenger was very upset and slammed the door hard. It simply was not worth my timr.
Wow, I had to read that again and when I stopped writing I'm going to read that again you're getting off for 1000 mi rides!!
And you can't even write down how much you were being offered or any details
At the beginning I told it all but now the they try to send me out my way I just log out and go home 🏡 with lyft I only do Luz and XL
It depends if I have to ho 11 miles away and they only going 2 miles hmm nope at 5.00 a gallon in ca
South Florida Palm Beach with only Uber, most pick up times are 5-7 minutes. Unless it’s a pick up with a pet. That’s hardly worth it because Uber charges rider $6.00 and I get less than $3.00
I’m always concerned about my acceptance and cancellation ratings. Getting stuck outside a gate with a call box then canceling really pisses me off. I have to burn a cancellation for that.
As a Gold driver, when a ride request comes in, it tells me direction and duration of the trip.
Are you allowed to ask the customer if the destination is far like when I accept a trip am I allowed to say to the customer how far they ask them how far their destination is
😂😂😂😂 I don’t know about been allowed but I have done it countless time.
I just started 2 weeks ago, I have a 60% accept rate and 10% cancellation rate, because they send the majority of trips to me that are 10min-15min or 10-15miles away(just about equates to the same in my area). I want a better acceptance rate but I will not accept some of these requests.
4 miles or less , unless your completing a quest or 3 trip series , or you want to go home.
We need a law firm with big balls to take on all these rideshare/delivery companies. I made $4000 on 1000 UBER rides. I quit!
I refuse to pay ANY TOLL EVER! I'M DOING THIS TO MAKE MONEY,NOT SPEND $4-$6 TOLL ON A $5-$8 TRIP.
But don’t they reimburse you for tolls they said they would reimburse me
I think its individual thing . I would like take everything and hit certain amount at end day . My main monitor is am making 25 35 hr . If I am great if not then look at whats coming in . Streaks needs add 100 per day all in row . Needs be high streaks this 5 yr Lyft now . Uber runs on lots rides do needs do more give opinion on that . Honestly still try figure Uber have ask Diamond Uber.
I keep acceptance high. So I know how long the trip is going to be
I love the long rides. But I hate when they try to send me 12 miles away and drive is 3 minutes long that's horrible. Long rides pay. Usually but my airport ride use to pay 30$ more in the Dallas area it's now 15
In my opinion as a driver and sometimes rider .. well if am a rider and I request a ride if the driver is 20 minutes away if there's no other drivers in the area to give a ride so I will call the driver who accepted and I will pay him more before he come to far to pick up so riders should understand that nothing is free .... as a driver you know where you drive sometimes rides are in the area where no lyft or uber so the driver who accept accepted and texted did it with a condition thinking the rider will understand and offer some cash that's all
Is Uber still paying for long pick-ups?
I accept 99% of pings and recently Uber is sending me to pick up riders that are 15 to 20 minutes away. I never see a pick up fee as they use to have it before Covid.
So then why are you taking the ride?
I don’t except the trips over 2 miles away/working hard but please don’t be their slave
On Uber I have the Uber gold so I can see how long the ride is and how long it takes to get to the pick up. If it shows that it takes more than 2 minutes longer for me to get to the pick up than the drop off time I just won't accept those. I also will not accept rides that say a long ride time. That's a nice advantage to being able to see how long the ride will last. Although I wish it would gives distance instead of time.
Yeah that only works for you until you're acceptance rate drops slow and you lose those gold benefits because they're based on acceptance rate and pointstraight end points then you'll have to earn it back by increasing your acceptance rate and accepting everything
@@just4training I
Live in a small town. I never have very far to travel to pick up a passenger. I do accept almost everything. I have declined a few that said they are a long trip. And I decline delivery orders all the time.
Nope, unless it’s the last ride of a consecutive ride streak that is quite high 14+ in my market
Going to Marin county you may get dense fog
I got deactivated for no reason made a new account got approved but I haved Lyft change my name to my nick name do u think they find out
I will take long pickup. I live 15/20 miles where my riders are at. I almost always get a ride from my house which adds 4 to 6 dollars extra. Making $30-35 $$ per hour here.
It’s so hard b/c it’s a split second division. Then you have to reason via text with the LYFT app. They never take any constructive criticism. And all they’d need to do is watch these channels to quell unrest. It costs more and more for less money the longer you do it.
If I get a ride request with Uber and it says 'pickup premium possible', I will take my time getting there, as the pay starts 10 minutes after accepting the ride. Lyft would be an automatic decline.
Please elaborate on this because I get these long ass pickups all the time and it says pickup premium available but it's usually a really really tight premium like 2 or 3 dollars sometimes... usually not worth it
@@CoreySewell you start getting your per mile and per minute pay 10 minutes after you accept the ride, but only if the request says 'pickup premium possible.
I will sometimes accept the ride and sit where I am for 2-3 minutes, and then drive slowly the next 5 minutes. The premium is paid for out of Uber's pockets.
I like long rides I see all rides as opportunity. Short rides in streak and long rides gets my money up .
just heard that the tax deductin is 62 cents per mile now
I used to take everything when I first started. I still take a lot of rides, but there’s some that I clearly won’t unless I’m gonna get paid premium for Uber depending on time of day (usually early mornings from 2-5am)where I know I’ll get paid more percentage of the actual fare. I did notice today that lyft rerouted me to someone else and the name on the passenger changed. I just assumed somehow the passenger changed it to his friend of something, but now I’m thinking it was actually lyft sending me for a completely different passenger. Super weird. I also have only been doing lyft whenever there’s ride streaks or challenges because I feel I get paid less for their rides than I do Ubers. I did notice the last few nights I did drive some lyft though, that their individual ride bonuses (would be surges for Uber) were actually way higher in dollar Amount than any of the Uber ones I’ve ever gotten. So I’m still gonna investigate that a little bit to see if maybe it’s worth driving lyft on busy weekend nights when bars close vs Uber. It’s all trial and error.
how do you get ride streaks or challenges from lyft ? Thx
i've been driving with LYFT for over a month, and also get to level Platinum ,but don't get any ride streaks or challenges from them.
5 minutes away - not miles - is my limit. If there is a decent surge, I'll maybe go 8.
Sometimes canceling is better if your acceptance rate is too low. Also, going through a toll is a tax write off, so save the receipt. As for me, I'd get them. I'd message them and tell them it will be a while until I arrive. I've found that customers are appreciative of that and they tend to tip well for it.
I have taken rides like this but VERY rarely. The other night I took a ride a little too far away to complete a quest. Which brings me to a question I hope someone will answer: regarding Uber pro, I get ride requests often 16 minutes away ALOT and hit decline. Sometimes the same ride request pings me 3 or 4 times. I decline. I am still Uber blue and this is why. How do these drivers achieve a higher tier status? Just suck it up and take every single request?..
Yes
Yes. I'm diamond tier. 4.98 rating, and make 2800-4k weekly
@@just4training where do you live! Man I make 400 a week
should not have accepted the ride in the first place. pick up should be within 5 min from my location
my rating went down because I couldn't accept requests after a rider trowed up in my car and I sent a message to uber support ,and the second day I made destination option at 1h am to go back toward Boston after 40 miles away ,they stilled send requests toward the opposite destination until I found my self at 60miles away from my home at 2 am ,they didn't care about the arriving time that I made on my destination before, I declined other requests of more than 10 miles and I went offline, using my Google maps to go back to Boston, yesterday I was surprised that my rating went down one more time because , !!!!
If ur in the middle of consecutive trips bonus and get a BS trip just accept it and cancel due to “pick up is unsafe”. You will keep ur consecutive streak. On the Uber app at least
I'm skeptical about what you are saying but I will experiment tomorrow.
@@TheKaybjay2 it works trust me. You can keep sticky surge by doing it that way as well.
Yeah take the ride and get half way only to have the pax cancel.
I try not to cancel after accepting, but I have done it once.
Sometimes it happens.
i drove from sky harbor in pxn to gallaop nm.earned 450.00 plus 30 dollar tip
It’s too stupid in app, I remember Uber have a great option pick up only 4.75 rating only and passenger who only 0.5 miles from you they remove that option because they say nobody don’t used this option but I’m always use and I feel so bad when they remove that option
I prefer Lyft . Lyft at least tells u how long the pick up is and drop off is... uber only tells you where the pick up is. I hate when I pick up someone and then screen says 35min away
F asking pax to cancel. Just cancel it ASAP.
I wouldn’t even accept it but accidents happen.
Yeah taking a ride over the bridge is an insult and I have to stop excepting it..How can you tell a passenger I can’t take you because of xyz?? I need to STOP worrying about others and worry about my pocket 🤦🏾♀️
Cancel too much they try to deactivate. Yes the long rides takes away from.no...cancel often we pay to pick them up loose money...1 to 2 miles. No do not accept..deny..but usually they add these types of rides when I have went over my cancel rate
Clip could have been have the length and more enjoyable
Those dirty bastards at Lyft don't tell you where passenger is heading until AFTER you pick him up! I had to drive 25 miles to the world's busiest Airport for twenty lousy bucks. That's dirty
This driver can’t come to Jacksonville, the biggest city in the States. Here you easily get a ride to pick up a passenger between 15 to 20 miles. But driving Lux worth it because pays better, and, Jacksonville’s traffic is the Heaven on earth compared to SF.
It's Lyft so I'm guessing this was a stacked ride that the driver, for whatever reason wasn't able to see the exact pick up location until the active trip was completed. Surprised Chris didn't mention this as it was most likely the case in this example.
That's what I am saying. And I hate that for the passenger but it is totally lyft fault for just adding a ride to the queue and we have no idea until we like you said end the current ride only to find out the pick up is 20 minutes away and you have to cancel when you would have turned it down in the 1st place and passenger could went on about their business ordering another ride.. A driver would know this
@@-FOOTS that's why you turn on last ride as soon as you accept a trip then turn it off to accept trips again just before you complete the trip.
@@zjbell700 I know that lol but that's something that you don't do if you're in the middle of a streak.
@@-FOOTS true, but I don't drive for streaks. More important for me to stick to my criteria for pick up ETA and distance for every trip I accept. If I don't then whatever the bonus $ is basically turns the expense of going for a 3 or 5 trip streak bonus into a wash.
@@zjbell700 ain't that the truth lol.
9 minutes max….never go where there is a toll.
Uber has also been doing this so I'm really careful about reading it when it comes up. if it's a super long pickup and the actual ride is only about a mile or 2 I will not accept it.
But u cant see how long the ride will be without contacting the rider or starting the trip first
How do you know how far the ride is before accepting?
you never except the ride and cancel it we have cars we drive to pick people up doesn’t matter how far you go
Uber has been stealing tolls fare from drivers in the Dallas tx market. Check your trips in which you've taken a toll. You may see a few cents missing or the whole thing. Check for yourself!!
And I know this is a group full of professionals and you just listen to this professional guy tell you all that you can drive 10-20 minutes to go pick somebody up for Uber and if they cancel you'll get a cancellation fee but that's actually not true, what you will get is 00 with a decimal point and two zeros, on a rare occasion depending on where you are you can get a cancellation fee if you are at the pickup in most case scenarios you are not getting a cancellation fee 4/20/2024
No way I would’ve accepted it in the first place.
That’s way too far to drive to pick somebody up also depends on whether that customer will be crossing back over the bridge so he can pay the toll whether or not I am on my last trip to hit my bonus And again as we all know the games go on you got a learn how to play this right in order to not get screwed over constantly
Business 101. Is the distance to pick up worth how far we are going to drop off. Is the traffic heavy? Is it financially worth it for me? It’s a business decision.
DRIVER'S DO NOT GET PAID FOR RIDER PICK UP DISTANCE, ONLY BASE FARE on both Uber and Lyft. Why this is not mentioned in the video is beyond me.
This is ridiculous! Why would the driver accept the trip, only to renege and text with a rider you never met? You’re opening yourself up to problems, including a complaint to Lyft. Just take the trip! You don’t know what nice trip and/or tip could come your way. Also, there’s always another ride afterwards, and you can deduct that toll on your taxes anyway!
hi chris I drive in Houston Tx the 4th largest city and its spreaded not like new York or LA plus no competent public transport like rail or bus۔ I get the long pickup trips every time look like uber cheating the drivers reason when trip popup it says 13 min when you accept drag down to 11 minutes when you when you start trip minutes will dip down from10 minutes to 7 minutes in 30 second at end of trip you find only 8 min which below 10 minutes n up for long pickup fee kickin۔ they should calculate miles too in long pickup۔ toll except sam houston toll on all other tolls uber pays less money because those toll company increase toll price at every few months which uber didnot update their netsystem۔ I dont work with lyft because they donot pay long up fee۔
with yr plateform I shall pass-on for uber they should work policy on gap insurance and must have good understanding csr۔
once we cancel it will effort rating which at low less then 85 percent stop giving in advance distance n directions۔ consecutive trip bonuce they are mainly in Houston Tx downton area۔ which is not worthy to drive empty۔ one thing uber dono't care for driver and only they look their money in uber when you set destination uber give you trip in opposite direction written that trip is toward your destination۔ it make no sense you set destination north uber give you south۔ how it possible۔
hopefully uber look into the matter it they have some symphaty to drivers
