@@femz4Real Yes actually! WE are legally allowed to ask for ID if we suspect them of being under age. If they do not show it you do not have to take the trip.
your right they should here s the thing take that ride with the minor get into an accident its all on you uber and lyft and your own insurance will have no requirements to pay since you took a minor.
Last week I had a 9yr old boy booked an Uber and he was by himself. I was not going to let him in but I felt bad for the kid as he was alone and it was a dark area. I asked him where his parents where and he said his dad didn’t want to pick him up because he was tired. That dad is a loser.
If that happens again, do not take the child, but stay with him and call the police/child services. 9 is wayyy too young to be hailing an Uber alone at night. That parent should be arrested for child endangerment.
I only allow closed food containers kept in the front area where I can secure them (and ensure no messy eater eats outta one fr) AND two bags maximum at arrival or cancel. I'm not instacart
I don't drive and Lyft or Uber are a lifesaver for me. I always tip the maximum . In one instance it was my driver's child's birthday so I gave the driver a $10 tip for a $11.00 ride as a Happy birthday from me. Thank you all for your service.
If the passenger changes the destination wile you are on your way to pick them up, pull over and call them to ask what they changed. Usually they are just adding a stop but sometimes they are changing the destination to a location a lot farther away because nobody wanted to except their long ride.
What angers me is when it's the last ride for the day and you need to drop them off switch uber off so you can go to your job and on the way to dropping them off they add two stops. When they do that I pull over and tell them theyve got two minutes at each stop and take all your belongings with you when you hop out. Uber must mistake us for slaves.
I wholeheartedly feel that but they know what they're doing because obviously if you saw a picture of someone you didn't like you would profile them and wouldn't pick him up?
A Passenger tried to add a drop and then switched passengers at the drop and wanted me to drop off the second person at the designation. I call it Bait and switch.
I'm glad you pointed out not waiting when the time is up for pick-up. I wish LYFT and UBER would agree on shortening their wait times. I did 22 rides and every rider waited until the last minute to hop in. That's over an hour of lost riding time for the driver and the company.
Honestly if i have a 10 min trip to get to you i don't wait 5 mins i give em actually 2 mins and i pull off you can't tell me that 12 mins to you and your not ready then why order the ride.
We do need to be sympathetic. I had a rider early morning airport trip that the original reservation driver canceled and then missed their international connecting flight. Bummer
@@MPEG4User You do not need to be sympathetic for people like that. There's no way that rider waited hours until they got a new uber driver. They decided they wanted to arrive to the airport at the last minute without giving themselves any more time just in case. It is completely their fault and they should've planned better.
Four year full time driver. Agree with all the content in this video. Great job. New drivers...stick to the advice given in this video. He is absolutely correct and you can get into trouble not following things he has spoken about.
Oh yess...about $10 bucks drove 11 miles to get to them -- filled car front back and trunk with bags and items...no tip either. Yep. First and last grocery stop lol
Regarding people leaving behind "anchors." Just change your thinking on them. If you want to end a ride and move on, they're not "anchors." Think of them as a future lost item return fee.
In some poorer neighborhood the pax takes a friend to a pot shop, leaves the friend inside and goes to get his/hers "medicine". Has happened to me twice.
Heck tired of that customer is always right....is the customer still right if they are rude to the drivers...is the customer is right if the customer doesn't even know how to say thank you or appreciate the drivers...is the customer still right to complain the Uber eats driver to get a freebies blame it to driver that they didn't get the food even though they did...so on and so forth....tired of bs customer is always right
I once had a couple get in my car. While in the car, they edited the ride so it had 3 stops. Stop A, then stop B, then finally ending exactly where they started. They get in, we go to the first stop, which is where the guy worked. He says he'll be a few minutes, and gets out of the car. He leaves the girl in the car! We just sit there in complete silence for TWENTY minutes, then he gets back in the car. I swear I wanted to report them to Uber. Uber kept asking me if the ride was going okay and I said yes. Second stop was not so bad. Went to a restaurant to pick up food, and they both got out, and came back in about 5 minutes. Worst ride ever. Ended up averaging about $18 per hour for about an 80 min ride. They had a high rating when I picked them up so I didn't expect such BS.
I had 2 separate situations where I arrived and the passenger asked me to wait a little longer and they would tip me extra for waiting, and another requested the same thing during a stop, and neither tipped at all.
Watch out for people saying the app is wrong and it always do that! Meaning you reach the destination on the app and they say it's farther down the road and it's half a mile
Easy fix: Confirm the drop-off address before you start the ride. I make them edit right then if its not correct. Also saves me from any major pax input errors. If they try to eek out free mileage even after the confirmed address it’s an immediate drop-off at the address they confirmed and a call to safety number if they won’t exit. Do not give these people an inch! It’s your money and they’ll just keep doing it.
It's part of how Uber and Lyft rob you blind. They know full well you are not going to wait 5 -14 minutes or more in a spot where you might get robbed or shot...you wait 3 - 5 minutes or pull off early they just stole billions from the drivers. Leave early you get nothing, but I bet they still charge the cancelation fee...even if it's $1.00 they get that millions a day they steal.
To all you Uber and Lyft drivers take my advice. DO NOT DO. Multi-stop TRIPs. When I accept a ride and I see there is a multi stops I immediately cancel!!!!!!!
Depends on the passenger. I have many people in my area that are "regulars". Some need a stop for coffee on way to work. Or need a round trip to the convenient store. They usually tip decent, are friendly, and go quickly. I will rate them 3 or lower if it doesn't work well. They get me one time, but not again.
@hclmt97 I think he meant we don't get paid enough (as compared to driving). I get from .10c to .19c per minute for waiting. Lyft after 30 seconds of arrival, Uber after 2 minutes. Rate depends if my ride is X, Comfort, or XL. I did get "skrewed" by a ride with 2 stops, and only paid .10 a minute for over 28 minutes combined. $2.83 . But I still made $34 for 42 minutes.
Been driving for 4 months with Uber. One thing I learned is you have to be comfortable with saying NO! Particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. Don’t allow any kind of drinks in your vehicle especially those red cups! It’s your car it’s your responsibility it’s you who will pay don’t ever think a passenger will own up to anything if police👮♀️ get involved for any reason. Make sure passengers wear seat belts if they give you attitude or question…..really you shouldn’t have to explain yourself it’s self explanatory and the law but I always say in the event of an accident or emergency Ubers insurance will not cover you. And definitely not your personal insurance won’t cover it. If they keep giving attitude I politely tell them that they need to find another driver. Don’t let passengers who are absolutely hammered into your vehicle. When you get to your stop and you see your passanger(s) stumbling or been helped carried to your car do not take that ride . That passenger is to sick to get into your car into ANY car especially if you are driving a particularly nice car. Too many things can go wrong they may throw up in your car chances are they won’t were a seat belt they will be a backseat driver and give attitudes tell you if you can stop at the liquor store whatever it’s not worth your time. You have to be comfortable to tell people NO. it’s your time not there’s it’s your car not there’s and it’s ALL your responsibility Uber will not back you up So far all you rideshare drivers app workers gig workers bless your hearts stay humble stay positive and most importantly STAY SAFE!
My friend said no but it didn't turn out well. He had more than the accepted amount of passengers due to lockdown measures back then, explained he could only take a few and they needed to call for an extra car. The riders belted him and stomped on his car. He had to pay all expenses related to his damaged vehicle, no counselling was offered that had to come out of his own pocket and the riders were given a slap on the wrist.
Cheesecakeman911 please pay attention to the time to pick-up, distance to drop off, and actual drop off time before accepting rides. LYFT as of late has been trying to get away with murder on some of their "Upfront Earnings." I was offered a ride from Central Jersey to Mid-town Manhattan for only $30 during rush hour. LYFT's ride calculations suck to the Nth degree!!! Don't get taken advantage of. Believe me, they will try you.
@@LlVE365 I've been in that region. The rate given for mileage can be reduced to Penny's because traffic time eats it up. Uuuuugh. If Uber/Lyft dont want to compensate actual time incorporated into distance why do it ?
#8 if rider doesn't show up by the end of the initial timer, then a new timer begins and they get charged for the time you're waiting. But usually if they don't show up in time then I bounce ✌️ I'm not doing the whole "I've arrived" text messaging or calling them...
I agree with you, Johnny. Have you ever seen how much you've earned waiting for a customer, it's literally pennies?! Besides, in my experience, those tend to be the worst customers in the long run and you'd wish you had simply canceled the trip and moved on.
If I'm in a busy area / closing time surge, I'll cancel quickly and disregard the fee. The next surge ping usually comes immediately. If it's still slow, I'll run the full 5 minutes and take the chump change fee. Possibly could make more waiting it out and doing the ride, but it's already off to a bad start so I just cut my losses and move on.
They know, but they don't care; they listen NEVER to the drivers' input. That company's sole goal is to make money and place the burden(s) on the drivers. I had two riders who had a stop. They were two college chicks who stopped to order smoothies from a shop located on the street with no parking. The two cheapskates left no tip. If they're (rideshare companies) going to force drivers to make stops on behalf of riders, the rideshare companies should tack on a flat flee of at least $5 for a stop, with a counter that ends at 5 minutes. After the countdown, the ride should be canceled. If there's no legal, safe parking, there should be no stop at all.
They are added revenue for Uber...so they will definitely change, not stop... Just as they have since they started, the change will ALWAYS be more demands and less money for thee drivers.
The most common & Only way to be screwed everyday is by Never getting tipped due to the lack of effort on All these apps Not stressing/informing passengers that drivers Depend on tips!
Good stuff... I took an Uber in Miami to get some pastries, and driver suggested to make it a multi-stop since I would be heading back to my hotel. He knew the location was always busy and we kept communicating and in touch. He was a great driver, courteous, clean car, etc. I gave him $20 bill plus a tip online. Maybe that was waaay too much but I truly felt that the driver had gone above and beyond and had waited probably close to 30 minutes for me.
as a driver for so long i can spot classy people who tip and i give them special service which is probably your case. i can also spot no tippers and unfortunatly the stereo types are true when it comes to tipping
One tip is to only accept riders with a high enough rating, one that you're comfortable with. If the rating is too low for my liking (I have a number, but other drivers should have their own in mind) I just reject the ride.
Have your finger READY at 2:55 minute on the button ready to CANCEL ❌ for not showing up as soon as it hits 3:00..get paid and move to the next passanger who might be READY AND WAIT FOR YOU OUTSIDE (love those riders)👍..NOT YOU WAITING FOR THEM..I'm sure this will teach them and next time they'll be running to you as soon as they request a ride
I screenshot every ride that I accept. (I have an Android phone - to screenshot you just have to touch the screen with three fingers at once and it will screenshot) I keep the screenshots for a week or so. U/L never tells you who filed a complaint so now if I have to explain something, I can refer back to these screen shots (along with my 2 dash cams (one in front windshield and one on back window - both are dual cams that record outside and inside the car with audio) to refresh my memory of who the pax was. 2- with the screenshots you can keep a record of all the bad pax, unsafe pickup and dropoff spots , notate the addresses so if you get that address again you know not to accept that ride.
@@Z0mb13ta11ahase Just did my first day too for Lyft (no Uber since them and their customer support is just bots). Round trip, after gas cost, made little under $15/hr. Not much of a problem other than 1 family not having boosters seats which concerned me but let it go (not sure what TN law is, but know in KY it's illegal with simply "fix-it or pay" ticket, basically just trying to get people to care for the kids), and that same family leaving glitter on the seats, but nothing to major. I have done Dominoes, GrubHub, DoorDash, food delivery services, and I feel there are pros/cons to each and to rideshare.
I read about a driver yesterday that didn't accept a female rider because she had child seat age kids with no child seat, and now the guy has been deactivated because he followed the rules.🤷♂️ If the ppl never got in his car, the camera couldn't catch it, now he is fighting trying to be able to earn, but can't because he followed the rules? How could this sort of thing be handled so that the driver protects themselves from a bogus claim
Most of the drivers in my area never follow the rules either. As I said in another post, I was deactivated recently and two of my "violations of community standards" were because I enforced masking and seatbelts. (The former was back in 2020.) Many drivers think that because our state doesn't require seat belts in the back seat that they aren't needed. Uber's rules disagree. I had actually switched to overnight driving because I had to cancel probably 1/5 of my rides due to no child seat or unaccompanied minors. Most pax act like it's unheard of that I can't take a 15 year old by themselves or that a 6-year old has to be in a car seat. I've actually had pax argue with me about my state's child seat laws. (Every state is slightly different so check your own to be sure.)
The not leave an anchor suggestion is one I hadn't thought of. The Dash cam is a must. I have people trying to send minors in my car at least once a week. A black woman called me a racist for not taking her 17 year old son. I told her the whole conversation was recorded on the dash cam otherwise I'm sure she would have accused me of something I didn't do.
Thank you Chris. I would add picking up someone from Walmart or a grocery store that has over a cart full of items. Like two or three cases of water and several bags. You spent a lot of dead time. I've done a few of those where they might live in an apartment and it takes you several minutes to unload the car and walk them up to the stairs and it's just dead time. Another thing will stops is most the time you accepted another ride, so now those people have to wait longer
Oh, hell no! They see sucker written all over your face!! A lot of drivers won’t even do pickups from dept or grocery stores. Especially knowing their passengers are gonna EXPECT help and NOT tip!!
Here's a huge one! Never ever ever let a rider get you to do a fast dood drive through! The only time I ever let it happen after being screwed by this a few times, was on a low demand evening and the guy dropped me a fifty in cash. But never let them tell you they'll give you a huge tip or buy you whatever you want they are stealing your time and money, are going to start eating in your car andake a mess or worse of all all of the above and someone pukes as the food nauseated their likley to be drunk ass!
Uber and Lyft should increase the riders cancellation fees. A group of riders will each request a ride and take the first one that gets there...with other drivers on their way. If Uber and Lyft charged $10 or $15 to cancel, riders might think twice before utilizing this trick. Furthermore, 100% of cancellation fees should go to the drivers.
Funny story, I arrived at a pickup and the group was already at home. The other member of the group forgot to cancel. I waited and got that fee and immediately in that same parking lot got a new ride that had a better fare. They also tipped me well.
If Uber or Lyft states that an issue as been claimed on a previous ride.... simply state... ALL my rides are audio and video recorded"... then say nothing more... They cannot pursue anymore... due to client confidentiality... They cant state complaint and wont supena (sp).. the rider to court... You as the driver ... say nothing mroe.. no feedback.. no evidence submited... just stick to your claim.. "ALL events are audio and video recorded"..
I learned the hard way with regard to a multi-stop trip. It was the first and last two stop ride I ever did. I also got a ticket a few years ago when I dropped passengers off in a bus zone near Disneyland. Very, very important about that appropriate drop off. Cops are literally everywhere just sitting around. Great tips, Chris!
Thanks for the tips. One from me. Make sure that riders add a stop on the app when they wantg to stop somewhere else on the way to their destination. If we're not on the apps route and something happens we may not be fully covered.
And since both platforms now do dynamic pricing, we get paid $0 for that 1/2 mile to 11/2 mile extra and 5 extra minutes. Have the passenger change it in the app so the price gets updated. If they are not willing to update and get an updated price, why should I work for free?
I see that you have been on this post recently, so I will ask you. Is there a way to tell how many passengers will be on the ride before you accept it?
This is a great video for riders to view as well. I never thought a short car ride could be so complicated! People can be so rude, so forgetful and so inconsiderate! In Baltimore, I get so many rides from people who refuse to use a car seat. Others leave their belongings behind as if they didn't get in the car with it! I had one guy leave his work book bag, as well as 2 bags full of McDonald's food in the back seat. I think he was on something tbh, b/c he didn't even call me or try to reach out to me via the app.
Only time I’m OK with somebody leaving their stuff in my vehicle is if the trip is 100% over with because when I return it I get a $15 return fee that they have to pay which is all good to me. The one about the unaccompanied minors is actually good for drivers to know I’ve actually ran into this where a parent will order a ride for a 14 or 15 year-old and I have to 100% when I get there because I don’t know when advance tell them I’m sorry I can’t give you a ride and less somebody 18 or above is with you. I feel bad, but I need to follow rules . It comes to car seat or booster seat. I actually get out and buckle those seats in my self. This way I 100% know for sure that it is buckled in correctly. I have words called Amira Dashcam records the front while I’m driving and while I’m parked, but it also records the inside of my vehicle with sound at all times now that being said, I don’t know what the one party law is here in Washington and I never looked into it. I’m not concerned because I have a sign up in my vehicle, stating that I have the cameras and getting in my vehicle and starting the ride is consent to be recorded. I had one guy ask me to speed because he was going to be late for his job interview. I told him politely I’m sorry you should’ve requested your ride sooner. I’m not gonna get a ticket for you. He says to me well what about if I pay the ticket I told him no I’m not endangering my life for you. I’ve got a family I want to go home to after my shift I’ve only ever had to kick one person out of my vehicle. I am a female as you can tell by my long comment but it’s because the guy offered me money for sex I was offended. I felt uncomfortable and I dropped him off in the middle of nowhere because I felt unsafe. I even made a police report with Uber‘s help . I’m going to come at one more time on here but it’s going to be a new comment and it’s going to be additional information that you didn’t add on here that it’s important for drivers to know and it’s about cash tips. Very important.

As a driver who has done over 12k rides between Lyft and Uber, and was named Lyft Driver of the Year for the Washington DC market in 2019 ------ EXCELLENT 👍👍👍 10 Stars ⭐✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
I cancelled a ride at a stop, and Lyft did not pay me a dime! I spent 45 minutes to chat at the customer service, and they said because I cancelled the ride, they stopped tracking and I was not eligible for any payment! The customer service is horrible.
One more thing, another trick riders do is have a pickup location you cannot get to so the timer will not come up. Instead when you message for directions to get in, they ask you to wait where you are. They do this because they are not ready and want you to wait for free. I canceled immediately and contacted support about the location not being accessible.
Last year a rider(Uber) told Uber that I was driving under the influence. I was the victim of a drunk driver in 2001 and haven't touched any substance since but I suffered a brain injury in that wreck that left me very talkative and speaking at a very rapid rate. I informed Uber of this and they re activated me the next day. I got the same accusation about 3 weeks ago and volunteered to take a urine test to prove my innocence. I took that test and passed without issue but Uber still permanently deactivated my account. I had a 4.8 rating with over a thousand 5 star rides and two years of driving. As drivers we are left at Uber's will. However after speaking with my attorneys, they said Uber violated my federal rights as a disabled American and even though it is an at will employment agreement seeing that drivers are 10-99 self employed, we have a suit on discrimination so I'm pursuing that now. Just hate that it can't to this for no reason other than some cheap a**trying to get a free ride
It's happened to me before because I missed pax turn. Another 1 was she wanted a free ride. Said my car smelled like alcohol. 1 I don't drink and 2 I have a very clean car that smells amazing. I spend to much on air fresheners lol.
Great advice. I've been a driver now for almost three and a half years. I've actually had riders suggest that I get a video cam in my car. I'm going to have too look into the Florida law regarding that. And here's an idea you may want to pass along. Police Scanners. Currently, Florida law only allows first responders to have a police scanner in their personal vehicles. I recently wrote to the state representatives for my part of Florida asking them to amend the statute to allow rideshare drivers to carry scanners in their cars for safety reasons. You never know. You could receive a pickup or drop off request to a not-so-good area of town. The State Legislature meets in March.
Good advice for anchor, but again its thin line between customer service. I am a new Uber/lift driver, yesterday had rider with car seat and infant. Once ride started she added return trip. Had to wait 30 minutes to pick up her other child from school. Most probably she had experience of ride refusal for return rides.
Can you take a passenger to court for wrongful rating? Technically you can file a civil injunction for unfounded defamation of a public service employee under a contract from Uber, since it affects your monetary livelihood. You can sue for yearly wages of reasonable rating you would get from Uber working ( full or part time depending on you) for a monetary settlement from the defendant OR you can ask to rescind their review ( work with uber to lift your rating) in which case if they don't you will be adjunct suing Uber for the case of denial of reasonable payment for services rendered (in lieu of keeping a bad rating on file) if they choose to deactivate your account at that point, it would be case precedent to sue Uber for retaliation. Either way you are likely to collect full payment of wages upon settlement. ( dependent on average hours you already work / and wages bonuses garnered during work) . Or you would lose your 1 star rating and uber will never try to unsubscribe your ass. Peace get your rights back, if employment law can't protect you, the courtroom definitely can.
F uber&lyft rating 4.96 on Uber over 5000 rides 5.00 on Lyft over 4000 rides I did both New York City & Jacksonville Fl . Absolutely not worth it for me.
I got deactivated Thursday night. Not sure why. They just said I "violated community standards". I'd had two previous complaints about this "issue" back in 2020 and last April. Both rides were rides I canceled. The first because they weren't wearing masks the second because they refused to wear a seat belt. (Uber didn't tell me, but it was easy to figure out.) The most recent one, however, I have no idea. I'd had a scammer try to hit me a couple nights before, but I hung up on his ass. (And reported it to Uber immediately afterwards). Had another girl who seemed pissed that I wouldn't let her connect her phone to my car. (I don't play music, but have no problem with other people doing so on their phones. I need the USB connection for map screen, however. Also, it's stupid to connect your phone to somebody else's car since it downloads all your contacts. Privacy nightmare.) Then there was a guy who got mad because went by the route in the GPS, not what he wanted. (He didn't bother making any requests until after I'd already turned each time.) Then there was the guy that kept telling me to take my mask off. (I still wear one myself. Mom has lung cancer and I have severe allergies, so I don't actually notice if I'm sick. Also, I get a lot of rides to/from hospitals.) Uber said I could contest the matter, which I did, but since I had no idea what the complaint actually was, I was unable to send any dashcam footage. They allow you to send 5 files on the matter, but since I don't know who had the problem with me over about 2-3 days, I had no way of knowing what to send. My point to all of this? The dash cam might save you from legal issues, but if it's to prove a pax is lying, they are useless since Uber won't actually look or tell you what to send.
Unfortunately, if the ridesharing company was telling you to enforce wearing a face diaper, then they are practicing medicine without a license. The same goes if you tried to tell someone he/she had to wear a mask. There is no law that says anyone has to wear a mask in any situation. Even a so-called "mandate" by a president is still NOT a law. A lot of illegal practices and bullying were occurring during 2020 and for some time after that as well. As far as wearing a sealtbelt goes, I personally don't tell anyone to wear one. If I did and the person refused, I've already done enough legally.
@@theeperiwinkle No, the mask mandate was not illegal and was not "practicing medicine". It was a requirement on all forms of public transportation, including airplanes, buses, taxis, and ride share services. It was also required in all public places. Additionally, both seatbelts and masks (during the pandemic, but not currently on the latter) are/were required by Uber's terms of service. In using the apps, both drivers and riders are agreeing to follow those rules. While it's true that ride share drivers are "independent contractors" (thought the independent part is questionable), they (and the riders) do agree to follow Uber's stated rules. There was/is nothing illegal about the mask mandate or the seatbelt requirements and in most cases the latter is always required by state laws and the former was by municipal, state, and/or local laws depending on the time. Of course, by your flawed and incorrect logic, we're both guilty of practicing law without a license by these comments.
I had a married couple in Beverly Hills at night repeatedly tell me to go through a red light because it was a “pointless light” and they were in a hurry (poor planning). We were on a small cross street which ran through Santa Monica Blvd, so not pointless at all.
On Lyft, had a passenger cancel the trip while on the ride. They got the trip for free. 45 minutes on the rode with this dude. Lyft said I agreed to take the trip offline. I didn’t. Rider canceled and the app never alerted me. Mid-trip. Also had a rider today ask for help to the door. I had to push on her back to get her on her porch.
One thing I just learned that you can put stop new request on both Uber and lyft and they can't modify it anymore. But they might still ask you to do then a favor. I'm starting to tell them I'm flagged for making random stops before and can't do it anymore lol
Rider told Uber that after the ride was completed , they were not picked up after I verified I picked up the correct rider. They claimed I picked up the wrong rider.
They fixed it but it keeps happening. I just wanted others to be aware and watch their pay. Uber didn't notify me about it. I was looking through my pay.@DanielDTUBWeinberger
Passenger uses uber/lyft like a limousine but PAYS LIKE A CHEAP BUS FARE. Some stops are 4/5 mins. End of the day I feel like chasing pennies. EACH STOP SHOULD BE A $1.
I had 3 black, very nice people that were super nice BUT, they stopped at Walmart to go to the bank and had 2 more stops.....................she was in there for 19 minutes but they left the husband in the car. I asked him to check on them and I left. I also speed all the time to get someone to the airport if they are late and even been turned off for 2 hours.....wow.....they showed me. The multiple people that tell me I can go a little faster give me at least 20 bucks cash and Uber and Lyft screw us soooooooo bad.
So they give us bad ratings for many of these ! I declined a lady putting her 3 yr old in my car w no seat. Uber let her give me 1* , 3 neg comments too ! DID NOT HAVE MY BACK ! But I tell Uber constantly they dictate how we conduct ourselves and next time I'll have her arrested for endangering her child and then at least I will have earned my one star rating
Waiting for someone to buckle in a car seat sounds like getting screwed. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, it’s gonna be hard to cancel while they are in the back seat hooking up a car seat. Ugh.
I’m a Uber driver I have a Xl I do go with X comfort and XL when I have rider request for X ride and I receive the ride and when I get pick up location and they are 4 people with 4 suitcases and golf clubs not been honest with the company and I decline the ride after I am there and they nasty saying why I accept the ride I explain to them they should order XL they don’t liked but they pay $ 300 for golfing what is the situation in that case they tried be cheap they say you have room in my car but they not paying for XL …
On another note yesterday I drove 19 minutes to pick up a rider just to see the rider had a dog on a leash. I got the cancellations fee of 3 .92 for the rider canceling the ride. We as drivers should get a fee to drive to pick up the riders.
I had someone do the same, never mentioned they had a dog until he was texting me to look for him at a specific spot..."I'm here with my dog, she's clean"....um nope. I'm pet friendly and have a dog in my home that sleeps on my bed, but he's never been in my car
Question: seatbelts?? I advise every rider that enters my vehicle to put on their seatbelt and I do not drive off until I see all seatbelts secure. So my question… If a passenger removes their seatbelt or “fooled” me by not putting their belt in securely and you are unaware that they have done this. What would happen if you was to be pulled over by police?
If you advised them to wear the seatbelt, but they chose not to (and pretending to buckle in is choosing not to wear it), then it would seem that you are off the hook because you did your part. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it.
The review star ratings need to go. Someone i know gave drivers on two different rideshare platforms bad reviews for the stupidest of reasons and this person isn't the only one. The one reason for a bad review was because the driver wouldn't make conversation, the next excuse the driver didn't put her belongings in the boot in the order she would have put them if it were her car, then she didn't like his look , then the car was too small for her belongings (she didn't want to pay extra to order the next level up option), when a few did make conversation she claimed one was hitting on her and the other i won't say because the word she used for that driver that was hideous. On another occasion she told the driver she didn't like the smell of the car. The driver apologised and told her the previous passenger had been eating. He still got that one star. Another time she complained about not been allowed to take her coffee and eat in the car. I asked her if you're allowed these items on other public transport why expect them to be allowed there. That what if an accident occurred or if the driver suddenly presses on the breaks and the coffee and food spill everywhere and she get burnt. The car would smell for the next passenger . I reminded her about the complaint she had about the smell in the previous incident that the next passenger would complain about the mess and smell she would know be leaving behind. I told her to think with some common sense and that she would have to be the worst rider in the world and the only one to have a complaint about every driver . @1:57 this also happened and she blamed it on the driver. 🤦♀️ The fair fees ,all the time she was using the service she thought the driver was getting paid the full fair amount and had received that money the moment she made payment. She yelled at him about the costs for the trip thinking he was taking the full amount of the fair.🤦♀️ She gave one star to all drivers. The reasons for her doing this, take a guess? I could write a book. I haven't started on my colleague and friend of a friends compliants.🤦♀️
Good stuff! So I’m a newbie and I’m wondering if there is a way to check out the route the rider has chosen BEFORE I accept? Any help from y’all is greatly appreciated !👍
Definitely good to have a camera, I don’t even drink and have had a passenger claim I was drunk driving for a free ride. Also, never let a rider send someone to the car to hop in while you wait , it’s a way to keep you there past the 5 minutes
I want to add about a good one. Picking people up from the hospital whether elderly or someone with special care conditions. I had an elderly passenger I picked up from the hospital to take back to her nursing home. As a gentleman of course I helped her in and out my SUV and got her to her destination safety. She told me during a previous ride, she fell getting out of the car and tried to sue Lyft because the didn't help her. I thought they had a special shuttle. For that anyway.
#7 designated areas, I’m in Melbourne and I can have 4 in a row in our CBD with nowhere to stop, people ask me if I target the cbd for trips, no way, then I have the outer suburbs ones that stand in the no standing (that’s no standing for a car) area and 9 yards ahead of them are empty legal car spots, I politely tell them why I drive past them and they respond with silence
@judacia like we went thru stringent backround checks they don't need photo or photo recognition of actual real names..its absolutely disgusting thst we r all safe but ths ppl who we drive we know nothing sbout or lyft n uber know nothing about as long as they have valid payment. They pass uber n lyfts passenger critera its insane.
I totally agree. We require photo ID's for Driver License's, Passports, memberships, etc. Why not this? we are put in a position of not knowing exactly who we picking up and sitting behind us. Get off you're asses (Lyft & Uber) and do you're job. We don't get paid enough for what you expect us to do.
The first rule is to have a dashcam because you will need evidence of any interaction between you and the riders, who are not honest at all. If you don't have a dashcam, there will be times when you'll have to put up with bad riders because you know already that the company WILL accept the lies of its riders. I've been in this position numerous times prior to having a dashcam, so I wasn't able to deal with riders rightfully because I didn't have a recording of the incidents or situations, and I knew they were going to lie. This is neither a good nor pleasant experience, knowing that people took advantage without consequence. As for the stops, you're correct that said stops ought to be just 3-5 minutes. However another note I'll make is that those stops need to be at places that have legal, safe, free parking. I've had a couple of trips with riders whose stops did not have legal, safe parking. Uber says on its site that drivers should park only in areas that have legal, safe parking; thus, if a rider's stop does not have this sort of parking, you should refuse the stop. I had two riders who made a stop to buy smoothies from a place that had no parking. The one rider hopped out to buy the smoothies while the other remained in the vehicle. Again, I had no dashcam at the time, so I am sure if I had canceled on them, they would have filed surely a false report on me. To sum this all up, you're strength lies with your evidence, and their (riders) strength lies with your lack of evidence. Therefore, I advice all drivers, including ones who do deliveries to have cameras (dashcams and bodycams) recording for all rides and deliveries because riders and customers (delivery) WILL LIE on you to save their hides and get refunds.
One thing that is interesting is that while prices of everything is going up UBER AND LYFT are finding new ways to screw the drivers to make sure we keep making less and less . I have been driving since 2018 and Keep making less and less every year.
I've only been driving for two months, but it seems pretty clear that's the case. The only way I can contact Lyft is to say I have a safety issue in the app and have them call me (during 8-5 business hours only). I refuse to text them or email them. That's just ridiculous! I've given them an earful plenty of times. If they really want new drivers so badly that they offer a $400 incentive, then they need to start treating the drivers better by paying them much more. This gig pays less than substitute teaching and I have to work 12 hours to almost make in 7 days what I can make in 5 days as a sub.
I used to always wonder why some drivers get angry at stops. I get charged extra money for putting in that stop and will get charged more if i stayed at that stop for more than five minutes. I'm here because I'm thinking about doing ride sharing. I took both Uber and Lyft as an passenger before.
I had a rider take me through a short cut and as we approached a convenience store asked if he could stop in real quick. I usually avoid giving free stops but this guy was crafty.
1- verify your rider 2- know how many people are getting into your car 3- Don't let your rider stay too long at stops in a multi-stop trip 4- Do not let your passengers leave anchors (their stuff) in your car 5- know if there unaccompanied minors 6- Do not let children in your car without baby car seat (make sure it's properly set and fastened) 7- follow the disegnated pickup and drop-off zone 8- Don't wait for a passenger who isn't ready 9- have a dash camera 10- follow the law (you nor your passengers are above the law) 11- you can cancel the ride if you feel unsafe (drop the rider at a well lit and safe area)
Don't know where you drive but in DC, especially the east side of DC where there are lots of big families, "the insisting on car seats rule" is a relic from the ancient past and practically impossible to enforce.
In Downtown Nashville almost every ride to broadway ends with them getting out “as close as you can get” because the traffic is insane. It’s part of the culture down here. Everyone does it.
I live in KY, but a Soldier rider brought me to Franklin then rides brought me to Nashville where spent rest of shift. That traffic sure does get crazy. I felt like I was in a major city with all the foot traffic in one spot, don't see that often anymore.
I like tips! Add to minors not with an adult, they have now Hop SKIP Drivers. These drivers are background checked for driving 6 yrs to 17 yrs old. Drivers are combo nanny & driver. Pay is $40 Ave hr, and you need car seats & be sure adult receives them at their drop off. So no need for lyft or uber drivers to do this & big liability cuz they are not cleared & trained to do so
I canceled a ride this morning for a 14 year old. Mom got an attitude, “I’ve done it before.” I shrugged 🤷🏽♀️ shoulders. That same mom will sue if something happens. The driver is on the line. No thanks.
If a rider refuses to get out, call the cops - if you touch them or try to pull them out of your car, unless they’re damaging your car; Uber will deactivate you, even if they’re technically trespassing.
Yes there are dual dash cameras. There are a few that we recommend. If you want to check out some reviews which will highlight their features and can help you make your decision.
I've been getting lot of reports of riders saying that im driving fast. I'm actually driving an EV. And it's so smooth and accelerates very quickly but I always bring it back to speed limit. I don't know why I'm getting these reports lately. Either I'm picking up liars or someone looking for a free ride. Please help. I usually work until one in the morning and now have three report of driving fast in a week. Everyone I drop off says that I was great and thanks me on their way out. This is my only job
Ehh I think a lot of this is overkill. Def use your best judgement but remember this is a customer service job. You make a lot more by being accommodating
I use my own car that I pay a note on to do Uber and I have signage in my car that politely and CLEARLY prohibits passengers from using their cell phones on speakers in my car (they can talk & play music on their phones but I ask that they use headphones while doing so). The signage also prohibits eating and drinking in my car. Even with the highly visible signage I still get passengers who blatantly disregard these rules (mainly younger people 25 and under) and when I ask them as nicely as humanly possible to adhere to the signage they get and attitude and give me a 1 star rating for being "Unfriendly" or "Impolite''. I feel this is unfair BS since the signage CLEARLY states what is off limits in my car and it is MY CAR and not a rental via UBER! Outside of starting to extremely vetting riders to filter folks out who I think may give me problems in this area. What can I do to protect my driver rating from BS like this?
Stop the car if they are violating your rules and explain them again. I had a woman open the window and she was vaping. She didn't ask if she could. So I told her nicely, "You can't vape. And besides I have asthma." She immediately complied. As far as telling people they have to use headphones, I don't do that, but if t got too loud, I would say it's interfering with my ability to hear the navigation. Then I would ask the person to turn it down or just inform them that I won't be able to safely navigate them to their destination. I'm a teacher so I'm used to telling kids what they can't do. You might also start by restating your rules when you pick them up, then it's not a surprise. I had some teenagers try to get in my Lyft car the other day and I asked them first: How old are you? They were clearly high school students. The youngest (shortest) boy said, "But I already paid for this." I told him none of them could ride if they weren't 18. I didn't want to have them lying and saying one of them was 18 and that was the adult/guardian in the group. They were upset and asked me to cancel their ride and I hadn't ever cancelled a ride when the passengers were about to board before, but it turns out to be easy. Just click "slide to accept" or whatever it says after you "arrive". I forget what else I did but I was able to cancel the ride. The boy who booked the ride said I was "trippin" like most teenagers do when they don't like a rule or boundary presented to them. And I just replied, "No you're trippin;" and I took off. I did tell them they could call Lyft to cancel the ride but I was able to cancel it. I'm pretty certain that other drivers are taking this kid and maybe his friends to locations. I won't do it though because it's a liability. Recently I had picked up a group of girls around 11:30PM. I think it was a weekday. The one who booked the ride seemed to be old enough. However when they got talking, it turned out one was 14 because they were talking about that. I considered telling them I couldn't complete their ride, but we were almost at the destination. My question would be: who let those girls out so late at night? It's tricky especially with girls as they can look older. I usually ask their ages at the start of the ride so that they understand Lyft's policy. In addition, the place where I was to drop off these girls was a one-way narrow alley along the main road. I told the boss girl that I couldn't approach from that direction that would take them to their place they were staying. The girl said, "it's the only way to get there." Then I said, "I could get a ticket going to wrong way. Are you going to pay for my ticket?" She was a smarty pants for sure. She said "Yeah, because you aren't going to get a ticket." I couldn't see another way in after I had already tried to drop them from another direction, so I took a chance driving the wrong way down that short little road. However you have to do what is right for you. It annoyed me that this girl thought she could just try to push me to do an illegal move. And she most likely was underage. You have to know your boundaries.
Stops Should Be $1.00/min so Passengers Stop taking advantage of Drivers , We’re not Limousine Chauffeurs !!!
Stops are for suckers.
I agree or start paying drivers 4.00 more per person that tries to squeeze their happy asses in the car.
UberBlack offers it for $240 for 2 hours, I think
tell em front if they got stops i give my passengers five minutes if not i leave and complete the ride.
@@bluechex7881 Stops are for suckers BECAUSE we don’t get at least $1 per minute. If we got paid like that, I’d take all the multi stop trips!
it should be Lyft/uber's job to make sure the rider is over 18. We aren't bouncers.
Exactly. Are we suppose to check the ID ??
@@femz4Real Yes actually! WE are legally allowed to ask for ID if we suspect them of being under age. If they do not show it you do not have to take the trip.
your right they should here s the thing take that ride with the minor get into an accident its all on you uber and lyft and your own insurance will have no requirements to pay since you took a minor.
@@danger7694its ubers job to verify their passengers before they are picked up we can ask but we are not law enforcement to require them to i.d
@@femz4Real Yes you are allowed to ask for ID.
Be calm, have no emotions. I have completed 48,300 rides and always be positive.
No one cares about how many rides you’ve completed. You just wanted to brag.
How much do you average an hour
@@a.j.d.8439 makes my 6,600 look miniscule. LOVE IT!
@@ChadRiley-mf9ru most weeks are $30 per hour. Some around $25, some $40
Better measure is dollars per mile. Averaging $1.40
Last week I had a 9yr old boy booked an Uber and he was by himself. I was not going to let him in but I felt bad for the kid as he was alone and it was a dark area. I asked him where his parents where and he said his dad didn’t want to pick him up because he was tired. That dad is a loser.
Did you take him home?
@@tooobreezy I hope u took him home!!! But from the sound of it nope
@@tooobreezy yeah I did. But I wanted to tell his father off but I didn’t. What a loser dad
If that happens again, do not take the child, but stay with him and call the police/child services. 9 is wayyy too young to be hailing an Uber alone at night. That parent should be arrested for child endangerment.
Jeezus!
My worst issue is people dropping food in my car and stepping on the seats. People have no respect
I agree or letting there kids with mud on there shoes go all over the seats
@davegriffin5988 yeah, 💯
Do not put up with that ....tell the parents to behave with their kids...and then contact uber support and report the rider.
@carlaelmurrfriedman7194 I put a camera in car and it's a lot less. I report people now.
You are a rare breed!
I can say anyone who makes the statement you made does not even tip. I don't believe a word you said.
@@TheGreenRoomOnlineReally...why is that hard to believe? I've done the same thing for a driver that was superb.
If the passenger changes the destination wile you are on your way to pick them up, pull over and call them to ask what they changed. Usually they are just adding a stop but sometimes they are changing the destination to a location a lot farther away because nobody wanted to except their long ride.
Change the ride = cancel.
Make sure they ask first or cancel
What angers me is when it's the last ride for the day and you need to drop them off switch uber off so you can go to your job and on the way to dropping them off they add two stops. When they do that I pull over and tell them theyve got two minutes at each stop and take all your belongings with you when you hop out. Uber must mistake us for slaves.
Exactly 😥
hook for drivers
I wish Uber would have the riders put a picture on their profile
On god!!!! I hate that or make them explain if the ride is for someone else and get deactivated if they lie.
I wholeheartedly feel that but they know what they're doing because obviously if you saw a picture of someone you didn't like you would profile them and wouldn't pick him up?
Even with lyft the pic isn't always there
The worst is having customers add stops to run errands. Best advice I have heard is NOT to allow them to put anchors in your carr!!! Great Video!!!
I learned. Did I ever learn. That one was crucial for me. It will never ever occur to me again.
Why you make more money without having to drive to pick somebody up >->
No such thing as an anchor. If they leave stuff in the car, they don't want it.
leaving with an anchor results in a 1 star but an extra $15 from Uber for returning an item
I cancel multiple stop trips whenever I can.
Exactly since they know how long they have before we arrive using the app!
Honestly if i have a 10 min trip to get to you i don't wait 5 mins i give em actually 2 mins and i pull off you can't tell me that 12 mins to you and your not ready then why order the ride.
Don't accept multi stop rides.
He is absolutely correct and you can get into trouble not following things he has spoken about.
so use your common sense, good,I seen some on sale at walmart
Do not allow grocery stores!!! Convenience stores only. Nothing personal, but nobody spends only 3 minutes in a grocery store.
I fell victim to this
Oh yess...about $10 bucks drove 11 miles to get to them -- filled car front back and trunk with bags and items...no tip either. Yep. First and last grocery stop lol
MY passenger yesterday got a case of beer at the grocery store, but he was fast.
Regarding people leaving behind "anchors." Just change your thinking on them. If you want to end a ride and move on, they're not "anchors." Think of them as a future lost item return fee.
😆
😂😂😂
Then they’ll rate you low, though.
Who cares?
In some poorer neighborhood the pax takes a friend to a pot shop, leaves the friend inside and goes to get his/hers "medicine". Has happened to me twice.
Most of these problems occur and exist because rideshare companies enforce "customer is always right, no matter what" policies.
That is true and it sucks sometimes when you get garbage pick ups
@@davegriffin5988 For sure.
Heck tired of that customer is always right....is the customer still right if they are rude to the drivers...is the customer is right if the customer doesn't even know how to say thank you or appreciate the drivers...is the customer still right to complain the Uber eats driver to get a freebies blame it to driver that they didn't get the food even though they did...so on and so forth....tired of bs customer is always right
@@ana-up2ss Agreed, it's not right at all.
That’s because they make the drivers eat it.
Exactly
Crazy, because I do tip extra. At least $10-$15. Is that a good tip to wait?
@@girardedwardyeppers. We get less than that amount per ride.
Thats what they do.. they always said they will tip but thet never do
Don't be a sucker.
I do the same 💯
You said we don't get paid to wait but when I'm waiting it says I'm still getting paid?? Did it change?
@hclmt97 I think he meant we don't get paid enough (as compared to driving). I get from .10c to .19c per minute for waiting. Lyft after 30 seconds of arrival, Uber after 2 minutes. Rate depends if my ride is X, Comfort, or XL. I did get "skrewed" by a ride with 2 stops, and only paid .10 a minute for over 28 minutes combined. $2.83 . But I still made $34 for 42 minutes.
@dobermanguy9437 Sorry to hear you have no compassion for those in a bad circumstance. I made $900 in 27 hours with several that had stops.
You have to be comfortable to tell people NO. it’s your time not there’s it’s your car not there’s and it’s ALL your responsibility Uber will not back you up
So far all you rideshare drivers app workers gig workers bless your hearts stay humble stay positive and most importantly STAY SAFE!
Thanks for the great info!
I just started lyft yesterday, and so far its going well. Thanks for the tips and things to keep us safe and ahead of the game.
I noticed that with Lyft and Uber with there upfront fares and I been driving for 7 years now with Uber and 5 with Lyft
And you just got screwed - you pay for wait time is 13 cents per minute. 5 minutes at 13 cents per minute = $7.80 gross per hour.
Don't wait!
when will they learn STOPS are a problem for drivers and start compensating driver
They know it's a problem. It's the driver's problem, not theirs.
If I see that a ride has a lot of stops I just cancel it. It’s a waste of time.
They are added revenue for Uber...so they will definitely change, not stop...
Just as they have since they started, the change will ALWAYS be more demands and less money for thee drivers.
No stops
At the end he probably saved you money- everyone wins
It wasn’t way too much. Not at all. It’s a lot to maintain those vehicles that you ride comfortably in. The rideshare drivers are underpaid.
Gosh, if I had more riders like you!
It wasn't too much, trust me. If it was Lyft, the driver only got half of whatever Lyft charged for the ride.
How about 11 ways not to get screwed by Uber and Lyft companies themselves lol.
That you have to invest the time in. There's a learning curve in doing this. Everyone will tell you that. 🙂
Just don’t work for them then.

One tip is to only accept riders with a high enough rating, one that you're comfortable with. If the rating is too low for my liking (I have a number, but other drivers should have their own in mind) I just reject the ride.
I use the filter for this.
@@Moi_81 for some reason the filter is not available for me. Maybe it's my area.
I'm just getting started with Uber. Is there a way to tell how many passengers would be on the ride before you accept it?
@@mollycanfield1210 man that would be a great feature!
I will tip you on the app. Classic way for riders trying to get 5 stars
Then no tip is left lol
Beware of riders telling you to drive to a different destination than the original quote without a change typed in the app by them
Have your finger READY at 2:55 minute on the button ready to CANCEL ❌ for not showing up as soon as it hits 3:00..get paid and move to the next passanger who might be READY AND WAIT FOR YOU OUTSIDE (love those riders)👍..NOT YOU WAITING FOR THEM..I'm sure this will teach them and next time they'll be running to you as soon as they request a ride
In Denver we have to wait 5 MINUTES before we can cancel a trip! And sometimes the app asks you to wait even longer for a higher cancellation fee!
Awesome
I screenshot every ride that
I accept. (I have an Android phone - to screenshot you just have to touch the screen with three fingers at once and it will screenshot)
I keep the screenshots for a week or so.
I'm in the process of finishing my background checks for Uber and Lyft. Watching all these videos, tips, horror stories make me nervous.
Just did my first day, had a lot of fun!
I have done Dominoes, GrubHub, DoorDash, food delivery services, and I feel there are pros/cons to each and to rideshare.
get a dashcam
Start out doing this, during the day time. Nice, clean ride, leads to better tips.
Get a real job, driving for Uber will be the worst thing to do.
I read about a driver yesterday that didn't accept a female rider because she had child seat age kids with no child seat, and now the guy has been deactivated because he followed the rules.🤷♂️
If the ppl never got in his car, the camera couldn't catch it, now he is fighting trying to be able to earn, but can't because he followed the rules?
Yea it's a shame we can't weed those out
If people leave stuff in the car thinking you won't leave, they are dumb. Just hit cancel, drive away and dump their stuff at the next bus stop.
Or 10 minutes getting your next ride.
Yes but once you are there. If you cancel you may have to burn 10 minutes getting to your next pickup. I wait and help in the case of groceries.
, I would never unload items for a rider unless they were elderly or disabled.
Oh, hell no! They see sucker written all over your face!! A lot of drivers won’t even do pickups from dept or grocery stores. Especially knowing their passengers are gonna EXPECT help and NOT tip!!
@@horizontoday7874 exactly. We try to be kind but people take advantage
As a driver who drives more than 15k rides both combined, I approved this video. 🤙🏼
Also, a fast food line late at night can take a very long time.
This
Funny story, I arrived at a pickup and the group was already at home. The other member of the group forgot to cancel. I waited and got that fee and immediately in that same parking lot got a new ride that had a better fare. They also tipped me well.
100% of the cancellation fee does go to the driver. At least in my area.
How do you know up front it is a multi-stop fare?
Thanks for mentioning this since I drive Disneyland passengers almost every day
That sucks it's a 1105$ by Disney.
@@charleswtuggle On Uber just swipe up after you accept ping.
I thought that was the whole point of a bus zone to let passengers out in a safe spot without blocking traffic. Not like you parked there.
You saved my life on the multiple stop wait time. I hate going to McDonald’s drive-thru 🤦🏾♂️
I ask them "Are you getting me a meal?". It works most of the time and if not then I say "Then we are not going".
@@rcnightlife9611 😂😂 I don’t even want the meal, I want my money and time. They offer everytime but I say no
No food allowed in the vehicle!
I'd never put a driver through that
I’ve gotten a $100 tip for taking someone thru the drive thru before. $20+ every time so far.
Thanks for the tips. One from me. Make sure that riders add a stop on the app when they wantg to stop somewhere else on the way to their destination. If we're not on the apps route and something happens we may not be fully covered.
I refuse unscheduled stops for this reason, unless they want to put it in the app
And since both platforms now do dynamic pricing, we get paid $0 for that 1/2 mile to 11/2 mile extra and 5 extra minutes. Have the passenger change it in the app so the price gets updated. If they are not willing to update and get an updated price, why should I work for free?
Yeah, don’t let them leave anything.. definitely don’t
I’ve got a family I want to go home to after my shift
I’ve only ever had to kick one person out of my vehicle.
I have never gotten a return fee. I have had to return several things over the past 3 years.
@@cjterry9921 the next time somebody leaves something in your vehicle once a trip is over with make sure you reported to UBER right away. You should always get a $20 return fee.
Hit cancel and drive away as soon as you see a car seat. Single mothers can't afford to tip, they complain, and the kid makes a mess.
Peace get your rights back, if employment law can't protect you, the courtroom definitely can.
the problem with that logic is that you do not know the pax last name. often, the pax will leave an aniomous review.
F uber&lyft rating
4.96 on Uber over 5000 rides
5.00 on Lyft over 4000 rides
I did both New York City &
Jacksonville Fl .
(Uber didn't tell me, but it was easy to figure out.)
The most recent one, however, I have no idea. Also, I get a lot of rides to/from hospitals.)
Uber said I could contest the matter, which I did, but since I had no idea what the complaint actually was, I was unable to send any dashcam footage.
Im new to uber in florida the app lets you add a dashcam in the app and alerts the passenger they might be recorded
This is a great public service both for the drivers and for future passengers to get a glimpse of what drivers are dealing with out there.
Rider told Uber that after the ride was completed , they were not picked up after I verified I picked up the correct rider. They claimed I picked up the wrong rider.
That should be extremely easy for Uber to see is fraud LOL. Like some things could make it harder, but still super easy.
They fixed it but it keeps happening. I just wanted others to be aware and watch their pay. Uber didn't notify me about it. I was looking through my pay.@DanielDTUBWeinberger

Ugh.
yeah, car seat takes a decent amount of time. Booster seat is rapid.
They can DEACTIVATE you for ANYTHING and you are outta the job.
I'm pet friendly and have a dog in my home that sleeps on my bed, but he's never been in my car
i thought we had to accept all animals......
The one reason for a bad review was because the driver wouldn't make conversation,
the next excuse the driver didn't put her belongings in the boot in the order she would have put them if it were her car, then she didn't like his look , then the car was too small for her belongings (she didn't want to pay extra to order the next level up option), when a few did make conversation she claimed one was hitting on her and the other i won't say because the word she used for that driver that was hideous.
The fair fees ,all the time she was using the service she thought the driver was getting paid the full fair amount and had received that money the moment she made payment. She yelled at him about the costs for the trip thinking he was taking the full amount of the fair.🤦♀️
She gave one star to all drivers.
The reasons for her doing this, take a guess?
I could write a book. I haven't started on my colleague and friend of a friends compliants.🤦♀️

Don’t allow flatulence. If a passenger breaks wind during a ride, tell them to wave their hand back and forth to get rid of the odor.
Multi rides are a gamble. I once had a multi ride that paid me $40 since it was an hr. Other times, I only got $12-$15
I do hate that so many passengers have no pictures. It drives me nuts.
I dislike either no picture or an avatar.

In Columbus, Ohio Uber is running three dollars and change trips down our throats. It seems like there’s nothing we can do about it.
MS gulf coast as well
The first rule is to have a dashcam because you will need evidence of any interaction between you and the riders, who are not honest at all.
1- verify your rider
2- know how many people are getting into your car
3- Don't let your rider stay too long at stops in a multi-stop trip
4- Do not let your passengers leave anchors (their stuff) in your car
5- know if there unaccompanied minors
6- Do not let children in your car without baby car seat (make sure it's properly set and fastened)
7- follow the disegnated pickup and drop-off zone
8- Don't wait for a passenger who isn't ready
9- have a dash camera
10- follow the law (you nor your passengers are above the law)
11- you can cancel the ride if you feel unsafe (drop the rider at a well lit and safe area)
So no need for lyft or uber drivers to do this & big liability cuz they are not cleared & trained to do so
I don't take Uber are Lyft often be when I do i usually tip between $12 to $15 dollars tip i appreciate them
I canceled a ride this morning for a 14 year old. Mom got an attitude, “I’ve done it before.” I shrugged 🤷🏽♀️ shoulders. That same mom will sue if something happens. The driver is on the line. No thanks.
what is a good dash cam
Thanks for this info
Great tips bro
I used to drive a cab I used to get tipped well by appreciative passengers don't have to get worry about being screwed over by them
If a rider refuses to get out, call the cops - if you touch them or try to pull them out of your car, unless they’re damaging your car; Uber will deactivate you, even if they’re technically trespassing.
If you are dropping off a passenger at a certain location for the first time, how is the Driver to know where that “drop off zone” is located.
Drop off zones are for hotels, sporting events, concerts, airports. Most places do not have a drop off zone.
Can you recommend a dash cam that records in the car (passengers) and outside the car (for accidents)? Like a 2 way camera? Is there such a thing?
Get a good dash camera
My issue is the smell. I had a homeless person who left a horrible smell in my car for a week no matter what I did it wouldn't go away
Yeah it's the cat and dog piss for me then the BO makes me sick
