Thank you so much for this video!!! It saved me a $375 inspection fee at Ford. I was able to get in and see the culprit which was a squirrel bite on a vacuum line. $1.06 later at the auto parts store and replaced the hose and all is well. Check Engine lite is OFF!!!! Thanks man!
The opening...only use Motorcraft in your Ford...preach man! Just did the plugs in my '98 F150 4.6 2V...I put em in a long time ago...Motorcraft OE Ford stuff...250,000ishKm ago...the new ones are Motorcraft too...truck currently has 513,000Km on it at the moment...all original...this truck is a shining example of Ford quality.
Thank you for another great video, they just replaced my vacuum pump on my 15 6.7 because it was leaking oil , I thought it was the upper oil pan leaking and of course it wasn't under warranty , the truck has almost 100k on it
Just getting a little Deja-Vu with this pinpoint test. Just did the same one on a Transit 3.2 not too long ago, for its 3rd EGR cooler bypass solenoid due to the reading well higher than the 10 to 40 ohms spec. Interesting that you point out the problem isn't obvious on this particular truck due to being equipped with hyrdroboost brakes, but how about no wastegate control solenoid or ESOF 4x4 as well?
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Do you by any chance, have a main battery cable on order for one of these trucks? Apparently they are on a national back order with sixteen dealers waiting for one, including us.
Here is an interesting situation I found. The vacuum was working and externally everything was working. When I took the by-pass off the flapper was off the shaft. Was a poor weld from Ford. Has to install a new bypass valve.
Got to hand it to Ford...after 29,000 miles a vacuum pump fails. Sure, other manufactures have their issues too but this is an $80,000 heavy duty vehicle and you'd think the important devices would be made more robust...Saw a lot of plastic on that new pump too. Warranty job I'd hope.
A mechanical vacuum pump run off the front cover area? Sounds complicated compared to my excursion's electric pump conveniently located on the passenger side fender area. I wonder why they went to a engine mounted mechanical pump?
You da man bro! Always look forward to the Friday night video! Got a question for ya...has Ford revised the design of the injection pump on the 3rd gen 6.7s to improve reliability or do you have the same chances of the CP4 eating itself like the older models??
Wouldn’t it be faster for the flow chart of the computer to be reversed? Are you able to just fill the cooling systems or do you need to vacuum fill them? Also do you know what the deal is with the starters grinding? I have one in our fleet that the guy was just ignoring the stater grinding until he wore a 45 into few inches of the flex plate teeth, but I’ve seen a lot of complaints about it.
I've changed these quite a bit, the bolts always loosen up causing an oil leak, in which case I replace just the gasket. A little brake clean and air into the bolt holes and some blue locktite on the bolts seems to prevent further oil leaks from that location. Why did you drain both the coolant systems?
It always seems funny to me when people say to only use factory replacement parts. So the original failed usually because of engineering or poor production so why go back with that? I always follow manufacturer guidelines and most times buy factory original parts unless there is a better aftermarket option. Most times there are better options aftermarket.
I need some help, 2015 6.7 f550 superduty keeps popping coolant lines from the egr to the surge tank. Seems like its over pressurized and melts thru weak spots on the lines to and from those. Popped a hole thru the plastic end of the line on top of the egr the first time. Where should I start? Oil cooler? Egr? How do I diagnose if it's flash boiling somewhere? The thermostat never shows overheating, so I'm assuming it's flash boiling somewhere and by the time it pushes thru by the thermostat it's not actually too hot at that point. Just creating steam and over pressuring the system??? What's my best bet to try first???
I bet you have a blown intercooler that has ruptured internally charging that secondary cooling system with boost pressures when it is like a 5-8 psi max system......
My 15 6.7 keep over boosting turbo . It’s deleted and tuned my tuner picks up the code but not the truck. Is this common ? Turbo boost goes all way up until I left off accelerator at less than half throttle. It’s at a dealer now and they can’t find out what’s wrong. Only dose this once and a wile
picked up a 2017 6.7 250 couple years ago, got 64000 miles on it now, not one problem, keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy, hope 2 have 1 myself 1 day 🤔

That was a good one Arod. Like those diag videos. Keep them coming
Werd 👍👍👍
I really appreciate you teaching us about these engines. Mine runs like a scalded dog, Ford did a great job.
Lololol love em
Thank for the video I crushed my vacuum line when I replaced my battery just took a few minutes to fix after watching your video 😂👍🏻
I currently don't have power brakes and my check engine light came on, looked up the code and youtube brought me to your Chanel.
Nice
Dam, It's good to know what will happen if the V pump on my 6.7 goes on vacation! Another excellent learning moment or two, three, 12:42!

Don’t worry bro I wouldn’t want to remove that power harness either. Another banger 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Very good video ARod thanks as always
Captain! 👍👌
Bad vacuum pump causing a circuit code .nice
👍
I got a 2020 6.7 coming my way later this month :) it’ll be interesting to see how the maintenance is vs a gasser!
Stay on top of it!!!!!!!

Great video, I atill can't find yiur video on replacement of the vacuum pump..🤔
That was an oil leak video....
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod well I still not able to find it, can you share on here possibly? Thank you in advance!
Good job

Stay away from biofuel and DEF mistakes otherwise it's the chance you take at the pump and the fuel quality

Cuz i take that shroud off and dont like that 2ndary bottle in da way

What up man, easy money there. how many hours do you flag on that job. I need to start making video again...
I do miss your videos
Mee too
Hey broski!!! Couple few hours..
For me its 2 hour diag and 2 for vacuum pump

Did a block test today and it passed so that eliminates the worst case scenarios with the heads etc @@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
Seems silly to have that vacuum pump just to run EGR (maybe it runs the 4x4 hubs too?). Just make the EGR solenoid electric.
4x2, understandable.
Had that code today in a 350
Pts stands for (PTSD) 😁
Well ill be damn...
I'm getting the same code but the actuator is working so egr valve ? Getting Vacum an everything
U want diag help gotta pay up

Sounds like a tune issue for sure
I have 9.2 volts at the connector...what's the next step for diag please? I did the ohm test and my multimeter reported .5 steady on auto mode.
Not sure man, this was like 4 years ago
Is always lots of work to remove simply parts. Draining both cooling systems. Dammmmm
I'm sure you could do it without having to drain both but this is just the way I do it
This help me 🙏🏼
Good
Good content
Thanks buddy👍
Ok so I’m having this problem but it’s getting vacuum from the pump at full range and a little vacuum at the solenoid it’s solenoid below 100 inhg vac
Fixin that truck did not suck...
Nope
Shit don’t I know about those lights!!!

Hell yea bud!!!!
It sucks !
Yay!!!
