Ihan hyvin sinä sitä suomea puhut. Ala vain käyttämään sitä enemmän päivittäin, niin lauseet, sanat ja taivutukset muistuvat paremmin ja paremmin jatkossa mieleen.
Näin äitinä repesin tälle niiiiin paljon 😂😂😂
@@davecad Know the feeling man, all I can say is give it a year or two, both of my kids started sleeping OK the age of 2. Before that it was utter terror.

I follow both Dave Cad and Luke Bland. I think Luke has been living here a lot longer than Dave has but based on their videos it feels like Dave even now is much more comfortable with using Finnish than Luke is. Luke used to have "Suomi torstai" videos when he uploaded more often but not anymore.

Mun faija muutti Suomeen kasarin lopussa, nappas kielen tosi nopeesti, toki varmaan ihan siitäkin johtuen ettei täällä pahemmin muita mamuja ollutkaan ja englanninkielen taitokaan ei ollu suomalaisilla ihan samaa tasoa mitä se on nykypäivän 🤷🏽♂️

First of all, your Finnish is surprisingly good, especially regarding all the conjugations and grammar in general
Secondly, I'm a bit salty that you speak better Swedish than I do even though I had to learn it for like 7-8 years in total at school

Puhut jo todella hyvin suomea, jatka vain rohkeasti harjoittelua! Suomea ymmärtää onneksi helposti vaikka esimerkiksi sanamuodot olisivat vähän väärin. Minun mielestäni "kärttyinen/kärttyisä" on aika hyvä käännös sanalle "grumpy".

Fun fact, the Finnish folklore Kalevala inspired Tolkien to write LOTR, the magic Sampo in Kalevala is represented by the one ring in LOTR. Also the Elvish language is based on old Finnish.
@@js0988 Eh, kind of hard to believe what you said about sampo/the one ring. Sampo is a cornucopia analogue. One of the two Elvish languages was inspired by Finnish. The strongest influence of Kalevala is not seen in LOTR but in The Children of Hurin, which has a few key elements borrowed from the legend of Kullervo.

Mahtava video, erityisesti sanojen taivutus (talvi : talvella) meni usein todella hyvin! Puhut paljon paremmin ruotsia kuin minä 😂 ps. grumpy boy in this case would be "kärttyinen poika" or "kiukkuinen poika"!

Your pronounciation is so good! Ofcourse there were a lot of errors in the grammar itself but like come on, it's finnish so we get it. The most important thing is that I could understand 100% all you said! So hey, go use your finnish in public, because even tho not everything is grammatically correct people will understand + you'll get practice!

I am impressed how much you get all the correct forms at the ending of the words right (the - ssa, - sta)! Only few very small mistakes in them... And that is probably the hardest part in Finnish! You are speaking very well. I'd recommend trying to do it more with friends and in public like in the stores and on other errands. 🙂 Go Dave!

I searched something to watch while I enjoy my morning tea and boyyy I became so happy after seeing this video title ♥ Thank you Dave, great video and happy to see that you've got so good with Finnish. I actually have a video collaboration idea for you: do you know Gen Takagi? He's a Japanese youtuber who does videos only in Finnish. You should totally do a video together after gets to move to Finland later this summer! It would be really interesting to see a conversation of two Finnish students from different cultures.

Genuinely, your Finnish is really good! It’s impressive how much you’ve learned, especially considering what a pain it is! Well done, and have more confidence in your abilities. You are good and your pronunciation is very clear compared to other Brits I’ve heard (lived in Sussex for 12 years). 😉

Look at this British dude speaking Swedish better than I ever did and it's supposed to be my second language. Your Finnish is getting there too, it's easy to see you have motivation for it. Working in daycare, I see a lot of multicultular people and while the children pick up on the language quite easily, a lot of parents seem to not put any effort into it so it's a struggle trying to have a conversation with them sometimes.

Wow! Great progress! Sure there are grammar mistakes, Finnish has a LOT of grammar (my English boyfriend reportedly cried in one of his Finnish lessons), but you were perfectly comprehensible and clearly making great progress, and that's the important bit. Your Swedish is also impressive.
