- Day in my life as a plumber
Back on the renovation project to complete a few jobs, I second fix some basins and vanity units and realise I have made an error with my shower spacing's
Thanks as always for watching, all the support is greatly appreciated
Top work bud those tmv valves are a bloody pain under a basin aswell thank god for fischer fixings make life alot easier keep up the good work bud 👍 😎👍😎👍😎👍😎
P.s had the same problem with those mira showers they do extender bars to take them up to 150 centers but still mega pain in the ass 😎👍😎👍😎👍😎👍
I love them basin bolts, they make life so much easier, I prefer thermostatic taps over blenders but with two tap hole basins you don't really have a lot of choice, have a great weekend
As always fella nice one.
Thanks for the support as always mate
Things are all ways here to test us Tom
Thanks for the support as always Keith, hope you have a great weekend 👍
Great video Tom 👍🏻
Thanks for the support as always Shaun 👍
Nice to see progress on that job Tom, Mira showers do some strange shower centres, not always 150 like everyone else, what a pain, hope you can swop them , have a good weekend and take care 🚽👍
Thanks for the support as always Peter, I decided to stop and alter all the pipes, I didn't film any of it because I was annoyed, it didn't take too long but I don't like doing stuff twice, have a great weekend mate
Good Job as always Tom 10/10 Mate
Have a good weekend
👍👍🤜
Thanks for watching as always Tony, have a great weekend mate
Hi Tom, always 150mm centres on the showers I have fitted, so I have learned something today too.
The job is looking good now and coming along a treat, be good to see it when it’s all finished.
Another great film Tom, thank you, have a good bank holiday coronation weekend, as always take care. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, I always though they were 150mm as well mate, I will check next time, the job is coming along nicely now, I've only got bits left to do although there are now a few extra, the oil line needs linking into the fire alarm which is going to be a pain to do now, have a great weekend
Top work Tom as always.
Thanks for the support as always mate, it is greatly appreciated 👍
A man after my own ❤️ pulling bends on taps instead of flexis 😑😑😑 did you goto Mr blobby's school of soldering Tom?? 🤣🤣🤣 Have a good weekend
Thanks for the support as always Paul, mr blobby did in fact teach me to solder, have a great weekend mate 👍
10:18 Personally I would have gone hot in to the bottom blender positioned center of the waste pipe, cold to the right of the blender, tee on cold bend in to blender cold up to tap, blended hot bend up and a set to bring it back behind ped
Nice work as always mate
Thanks for the support as always mate, I think you're suggesting might have looked better than the way I did it, it's funny sometimes when you are on a job you get an idea in your head of how it's going to be done when really it could have been done differently and looked better, have a great weekend 👍
You should make a video of your own work so we can see how good you are Mate,
@@tonymurff5234 mate I wasn't having a dig keep your wig on just merely giving an option to make the tmv fit flat against the wall and limite the cross overs, when I set up for a tmv on first fix that's how I do it, the pipes are vertically in line hot on the bottom cold above the valve goes in between them with a tee on the cold splits to the tmv and cold tap blended out the middle, 👍
👍👍👏👏
Thanks for the support as always mate Colin 👍
Great video Tom thanks. Good luck with the showers, I am sure you will sort it out 👍👏👏
Thanks for watching as always Andy, I ended up altering the pipes, I didn't film because I was annoyed at myself, have a great weekend mate
Showers always 150mm centers till there not. What a pain.
You aren't wrong there mate, it does my head in when things aren't standard, thanks for watching as always 👍
Nice content as usual Tom, 110 mil centres? Surely it’ll be more cost effective to change the valves? Have a good weekend mate👍🏻
I ended up altering the pipes, I didn't film because I was annoyed at myself, the thing with these jobs is they are a standard spec across all the sites, if any of the showers go wrong their maintenance guys will have the bits on the van, have a great weekend mate
Good to see it coming along at that job Tom. You’ll be glad to see the end of it I bet. I’d swap this showers if it were me. Sod altering all the pipes lol. Have a good weekend mate.
Thanks for the support as always mate, I ended up altering the pipes, to be honest I should have checked but you don't see many showers qith 110mm centre, at least it wasn't tiled yet, have a great weekend 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom Good work, Tom. Mira do make an extended elbow kit part no. 1.1663.012 which allows you to adapt the shower fit on 150mm centres. But it is another 70 odd quid.
@@martinwright7093 It's a bit of a con that, I certainly won't have been the first to have made that mistake, luckily it wasn't tiled so I could just alter my pipes, if it was tiled I would have had to bought kits for all the showers, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Good video m8t pity that basin wouldn’t fit In Middle of the window looks a bit odd off centre but you have to fit them where your told to.👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always mate, I just fitted where it was on the drawing, have a great weekend 👍
Nice neat work on the blenders Tom. Your hands look like mine. The only time I have decent looking hands is when I have been on holiday 😂
I've definitely got plumbers hands, I'm overdue a holiday, I've not had one for 5 or so years and I've never been abroad, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Standard for showers is 150mm centres . What's mira thinking 😯😯 . Swap the mixers Tom 😉😉
I couldn't believe it, I know miras used to be 155 but I have never seen showers at 110 before, it's a con really because if you ever need to change the shower you will need another mira the same, why can't things just be standard, mira knew what they were doing with this one as the two tails could have easily been made slightly longer, rant over, have a great weekend 👍
Likewise I'd never seen a shower mixer at 110mm ... until I needed to change the one in our caravan (the garden suite) and I changed the pipework to fit a new 150mm muxer bar
How come they only seem to have 2 tap hole basins on this site mate?
It's just what was on the spec, personally I prefer one tap hole with thermostatic taps, they tend to have the same stuff across all their sites, If anything goes wrong you know what to take with you, thanks for watching as always Dan, I watched your live with smartpipe, it was a good watch
@@PlumbLikeTom Cheers Tom! Great video as always, I’d be swapping the showers too by the way… 😂 thanks for watching the Live! ❤️
What size is that waste on the toilet ?
I used a pan connector with a boss outlet to pick the basin up from the room next door, the drain for the toilet is standard 4'', it just looks slightly odd with the basin waste going into a pan connector but it's a perfectly acceptable method, thanks for watching 👍
hose renovation
My bad mate, I will get that changed, thanks for watching 👍
Nice work Tom and good to see you are marking your territory. Not a criticism - just an observation on the basin fitted to the unit with the blending valve - as a customer while I would want the blender to be reasonably accessible I also would not be happy losing that amount of useable space in the cupboard to have all of the pipework on display and would rather have the pipework behind the back panel and then rise behind it and come through either over the top edge of the panel or through holes nearer the top. No criticism intended.
Hi Tom, is your bucket called Henry 😂, I think I’ll just get a electric shower where I can fit the water heating unit in the loft, as I having solar panels fitted, the less items in the shower the better and it will save money on the gas,
Liken the gray units .
🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🪣
Ha, I will call it Henry from now on, if I ever get round to finishing my house I was aiming for solar PV panels, I'm off grid so no gas but then definitely bring running costs down. thanks for the support as always mate, have a great weekend 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom you too 👍
Great video Tom 👍😎
Thanks as always PB, have a great weekend 👍
