    When the main surge of conversion to combi's was underway I had a load of similar jobs where the installer had tried to turn off a tight stop tap only to snap the head off leaving the stop tap almost shut. The installer is on a tight price so they just left it ! Another one to watch is where a new stop tap has been fitted leaving the old one unseen and again the head is broken off and almost fully off! I wondered who would get these sort of jobs after I retired 😀!

    • @PlumbLikeTom

    We used to get that a lot of this when our gangs cut in a new outside meters when they turn back on no water in the house. Half the time just needed to turn the stop cock that released all the crap, also blocked PRV, blocked non return valve, old stop cocks burid in the floor or the wall, sometimes you would find stop cock fitted the wrong way round. I have now retired thank god.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom День тому

      I get a few jobs my water authority where their workers have blocked something inside, non return valves are a favourite for blocking, it's when the customer opens a hot tap and it drags all the muck through the combi, it can be a nightmare, thanks for the support mate

    Great video Tom. I remember some of the old style stopcocks if you installed them the wrong way round they wouldn't work, the water pressure would push the jumper down on its seat. If you gentle turned the water back on in the road they would sometimes work. 👍😎
