Yeah the bathroom looked a lot better before, he ruined it with his generic and garish styling. Literally the perfect way to suck the character out of any room.
Gosh, you must have to be so smart to do this kind of work and always be able to adjust your plan and come up with solutions for problems you could not have anticipated. It was extremely interesting to watch this process!! Amazing work!!
Thank you so much! A few years ago, the thought of renovating a bathroom was extremely daunting but overtime I learned more and more. Eventually I felt confident enough to tackle it! So happy with how it turned out!
Excellent workmanship! And love the design too; the perfect combination of tile, metals, painted wall and wood trim makes it both pristine and modern looking yet still retaining a warm and cozy touch.
I love it!! My 2 little compliants: 1) In terms of cleaning the tiny tiles; the grout in between the tiles would make it difficult to clean. I would have gone with a larger tile, keeping cleaning/mold build-up prevention in mind. 2) I would have chosen all bronze- toned fixtures throughout, to give the bathroom a more cohesive and luxurious look. Great job, nonetheless!! 😊 This inspires me to do my own bathroom (with a lot of help!) lol.
Illini here! We just bought a 2500 sq ft 70’s house for investment. Thinking of renovating the whole house mainly by myself gives me headache…Your videos definitely cheer me up and that’s a great way to learn about remodeling! Ps, I also have lots of orange and blue outfits…😅
ILL!! That sounds like a super fun project! Just start with the small stuff and work your way up. It is also smart to call a professional when you’re a bit unsure on how to tackle a project. Good luck, you got this!
@@GoldenKeyDesignnice video. Love to do our ‘one’ and only bathroom but we don’t have enough skills to do the job! We are thinking of creating a completely new bathroom by using the second bedroom next to our main bedroom. Then strip out the old one after and make it a small office or just a spare space. Too scared to knock down walls ourselves though 😂
Thank you! I got quotes on remodeling a basement bathroom. Forget it. I'll do it myself and watching a video like this inspires me. Thank you. (And I like the grey/white tile tones.)
Your work is excellent and you take pride in what you do. I noticed how you cut your rectangles nice and neat a lot of people just cut them into wall sloppy and i hate that even though it is hidden behind fixtures, absolutely love your work and continue to do wel.l
I wasn't a huge fan of the tile choice at first, but after seeing the whole thing come together I will say it looks pretty good. I'm glad you didn't make the ENTIRE thing all different shades of white/light grey.
I really love your work, I'd have still done kerdi/hardy board on shower ceiling and tiled it as well, I know you used moisture/mold resistant sheetrock but I'd had gone the extra 1/2 mile
Hey, great work! I did a basement bathroom reno last year, and the layout for mine is identical. 7 foot ceiling, long and narrow bathroom (9.5 x 4.5), same door placement, same towel rack placement, also a floating vanity. Reminds me a lot of my own reno!
Well done! Loved the video too, you can certainly notice the step up in production quality with the longer time between videos. Keep up the great work and look forward to the next one!
wow wow wow, you did a fantastic job. i also appreciate that you include the things that went wrong because we all deal with something when we take on these projects, I'm hoping to do some very soon
Thank you! And that’s my intention - I want to show that not everything goes perfectly to plan. Figuring out a solution is often the most challenging part of a remodel. Good luck with your projects!
The new bathroom looks amazing and you seem have a good taste for design and remodeling. The video was entertaining to watch and I like how you highlighted the different challenges you faced and the mistake you made. I'm not sure what the purpose behind your channel is as this is the first video I stumbled upon but I can't continue to watch your projects because I need to see a step by step tutorial including how you take measurements, how you insure the tiles are leveled, what screws, glue, grout, spacers, bits,... etc. you used. I realize this will stretch your video by a large chunk but I'm guessing this is why most viewers watch videos like this one. Those who are interested in the design part only can skip to the end where you highlight that part and they won't miss a thing. Just a suggestion but I really enjoyed watching the transformation and the thing I liked the most was that you did most of the work alone as this is mainly what I'm planning to do. So thanks to you I now know that's possible with occasional help to do some finishes or handle delicate objects. Thanks and good luck with your next project.
Thank you and I appreciate the feedback! I already did a step by step bathroom renovation series breaking it down into 10 episodes. Therefore I made this one all into one video since it would have been repetitive. I have a variety of videos on my channel - you should check them out!
@@GoldenKeyDesign I see, then I apologize as this was the first video I watch on your channel. I will definitely check the detailed remodeling ones you mentioned. Thanks again!
I came across this video while searching for content as I intend to renovate my bathroom. Truly amazed by your work, the bathroom looks amazing. Just Wow! So inspiring. Thank you (from Brisbane, Australia) :)
Thank you! I would argue zellige is not the new shiplap though. Just because it's becoming more popular does not make it a bad design choice. Shiplap has the reputation it does because many use it where it shouldn't be used. Such as in a contemporary/modern home. There is a time and place for it - if used correctly.
You did a great job! I want to renovate bathroom in my house in similar optic to yours, also similar size, but I can't do it myself. So I wanted to hire someone who would do it for me, I waited for half year for cost estimate and almost fell over since that would cost me over 50 000 €.

It looks great. The light really opens the space. I will say non-staggered tiles will always look weird to me for some reason. The faucet seems like it sticks out kind of far. I can imagine people cracking their skulls against it while washing up.
Thanks and I appreciate the feedback. The faucet is the standard depth and needs to stick out to hit the center of the sink. I can assure you that no one will be injured by it haha!
A lot of work put into the remodel. Love this to be done at our place but we don’t have a second bathroom to use while doing a remodel. I also would prefer to use the big tiles. Is the plumbing hoses made of copper behind the walls?
This looks great! You did a great job and explained everything well. Enjoyed and just subscribed! Looking forward to going through and watching others!

While you may be right for the time being.. imagine one day you're sick of the green drywall paint and you decide you wanna paint red. .or blue..or something else. His choice of a neutral tile is the way to go as you are not leaving urself stuck with green tile lol
We considered it actually! We ended up going with the natural color since this is in the basement and there are no windows in the room. So we opted for using a lighter color tile to keep the room bright and open
If that lavatory sink ever gets clogged, it'll be pretty hard to snake out with the additional 90's for future reference. Looks great though, mad props!

Glad you found the channel and thank you! I have been doing DIY renovations/home improvement for the past 4 years or so. I am self taught and learn as I go. This was my second bathroom and the material cost was roughly $5k mainly due to the amount of tile. Hope that helps!
Looks amazing. And it was really great to see the work process. How long did it take you in hours do you think? Also, about how much did it cost for all the materials?
The change is just amazing. It was so dark, gloomy and kinda scary. Now it is so bright and clean. Fabulous job!
I agree! Thank you so much 😊
I think that this is the first time I have been fully on board with the design choices in a renovation. I adore this bathroom!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!

Beautiful Bathroom 🛁 🚽 I Love Tile. Tile protects the wall from moisture & easier to clean if you maintain it 😊
My anxiety kicked in just from watching you place all those small wall tiles one by one! What a true legend.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can use a little larger tile for the shower floor as well by using an envelope cut on it so it allows for the slope
Yes that’s correct but it’s easier said then done 😅 I want to try it one day but there is very little margin for error
