I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy and that these videos bring a few moments of relief and entertainment during these stressful times! Take care of yourself, each other, and your pets! This won't last forever!
Didn't you say you wanted a Hentzi?
@@joecruz8355 yeah, why?
@@tarantulacollective I may have one for you, they are extremely common in my area and I want to say it is a juvenile female but not sure.
@@tarantulacollective I am in your Facebook group I'll hit you up on there if you prefer.
the_tarantula_collective are you on Facebook? I would like to send a picture of a tarantula I got and the set up it’s in. I think I need to do a bit of modification
My girl is always redecorating her enclosure and hoarding in her burrow. But is never so deep in that I can’t see her. She’ll even be curious and go to the opening of the enclosure and wait for me to open it. She’ll walk into my hands, chill there 5-10 minutes, then walk back into her enclosure. Such a sweetie
@Chris T pretty chill. A typical slow new world T. Can’t speak for all but mine has never kicked hair and is the only T I have that I trust to handle.
@Chris T my brachypelma hamorii kicks when a gnat farts in china so I never try to handle her lol
Costa Rica is a very small country but has the 4% of the world's biodiversity. We also dont have an army so its very peacefull over here. Pura vida. Great video
These need to be more noticed as good beginner tarantulas, dry or wet sub, AMAZING eaters, great colors.
1 speedi boi Ok I agree
Mine is extremely aggressive and fast, so I prob wouldnt say so
@@Alces_Aces mine are all pretty chill. I'd say they are like a GBB or a Lasiodora striatipies on a bad day.
@@secretarybird459 Wait?! I bought my GBB from an exotic pet shop specifically because they( shop owners) told me they're chill lol... Where would they compare with a Rose Hair Tarantula in regards to temperament? My GBB is a juvenile atm though, as of now its only shot a hair at me once but relatively docile most days.
@@reznortetrault4348 They all have unique personalities but in general a GBB is (on scale of Rose hair to OBT) like a 3/10. Also a GBB tends to be more "hard headed" as they are juveniles. Of course yours could definitely be super chill and I have a Demon rose hair myself
I just got an adult female and she is so CHILL. It really is amazing how different in personality every T is.
My striped knee is pretty chill she lets me handle her and she loves to walk around my arms and hands she’s a great eater and rarely kicks hairs or threat pose😁
Mine is also very chill.I haven't handled her yet but I'm sure she wouldn't mind being held
Just adopted one and this answers just about any question I had! She’s my first ever tarantula, never thought I’d ever get one but I’m already so in love with her :)
Awesome vid!! And on point about this species!! That is exactly how my Girl Elvira is and I have had her for over 20yrs
We've got our sub-adult girl in a 5.5 gallon tank, w/ almost 5 1/2 inches of hard packed reptile soil. She has dug an elaborate tunnel system, and even dug a second exit tunnel back up to the surface. After blocking her hide entrance last month, and molting a few weeks ago, she still hadn't come out to eat. So, I dropped a cricket down the exit tunnel and she pounced on it! Since then we've been feeding her this way and it's worked beautifully. However, mold has started to form and we're gonna have to replace all of her substrate. I think I'm gonna try to make a "feeding" tunnel by packing the dirt around a 1/2 inch wooden dowel rod. Hopefully she will construct another tunnel system similar to what she has now, and that way we can feed her without forcing her to return to the surface. While she was sold to us as an A. Seemanni, she has the most unusual coloring. Her abdomen is a pretty salmon color, with a blue carapace. Also, her legs are blue at the tips, turning velvety black after the "knees." Her spinnerets are the typical color for species, and her stripes are a light pinkish color immediately after a molt but later fade to a creamy beige. I would love to know if she is in fact a separate species, or simply a variation of the blue form. She doesn't look at all like the one pictured in this video though.
I got a juvenile a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful T...for the first day. After that, I haven't seen her for she burrowed god-knows-where-I-do-not-wanna-disturb-her. I think she ate once but then she went down as if saying "Oh, food can get me here, I need to go deeper".
It's nice to be reminded how she looks. Thanks!
if i ever were to get a tarantula, tihs would be the one, simple yet complex, graceful yet simple, pure perfection
I just recently added the blue stripe knee to my collection! I bought her, and two other t’s from some vendors wearing YOUR merch!!!
Nailed it. That's exactly how mine is too.
I'd love to see a video on just T behavior, like random "stilting" or climbing on on the walls or just what ever odd behavior you have seen your Tarantulas doing. Like what is normal, signs of premolt or what may be concerning.
Great suggestion!
Thank you for this! I just got an adult unexpectedly and have found so much conflicting information. This video really helped me figure out my expectations and husbandry needs.
This video has answered more questions than I’ve found on google , thank you .
I just got mine and he's my first!! He's so chill and super sweet. I couldn't be happier
This is perfect! I just got 8 new tarantulas last night and this was the only T that I got that you did not have a video for yet, thanks a ton!
This is so helpful!! Getting my second stripe knee today and it’s been a while since I’ve had one. Great refresher!
Best Tarantula channel on YT. You can tell he is passionate about the content he puts out.
Thank you 😎
Dope to see the content is getting more and more professional and theatrical, I love that. I got the husbandry specifics for the species I own mainly from you, so (from the happy spoods at my house) thanks mate. Keep it up and keep improving. Love form the Netherlands.
Richard!! It’s Debra Wilson… This video blows me away with the editing, music, camera moves and all the information!! I was looking into this species, and with all this amazing info, I can make an educated decision. I can always look to you to guide me, along with Nate the “Spider Guy” !! You two are my “ARACHNA-HEROES”!!!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I love my A.Seemani. I'm a newbie at tarantulas and I adopted this guy a couple months ago. He ALWAYS does the happy dance when I feed him. So cute ♥️🕷️
That is awesome!
This video came at the perfect time! I just got a seemanni as a craigslist rescue and really needed this husbandry video for her. I also got a Nhandu chromatus when I got her, so I'd love a video for one of those sometime, too!
Thank you, I've been wanting this video for almost ayear didnt even realize you uploaded 2 mmonths ago, tons of great info
Thanks for this very informative video. I purchased my first tarantula today and its the aphonopelma seemanni. I was very happy to find a video on the species that I have.
This was my first tarantula. Have had her 7 years now. Affectionately call her my pet hole.
I just picked up an A. seemanni today as my first T after hearing they were pretty chill, the lady at the specialty store I got him at even said he was pretty calm, and the first thing he did when I went to move him into his new home is give me a threat pose lmao, such a sassy spider
Thanks, I just got one as my first tarantula and I am grateful to have the information
Great video, love the channel... been waiting on this video for awhile , thank you
Love these tarantulas I got a large individual a few days ago and the rehouse went smoothly and it's taking prey well, staying out in the open and isn't bolty or defensive
I’ve had Vita for a few months and after rehousing she seemed stressed. I’ve tried repeatedly to get her to eat, offering her several different things my other guys loved but she refuses. After this video I’m less panicked, thank you! This was incredibly informative and beyond helpful.
Love my a. seemanni. Such a chill, cool little T. Thanks for the vid Richard. Learning more about this T was something I had needed to do.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I handle my Zebras all the time. They have always been so docile towards me.
Brilliant episode! Beautiful T, you captured amazing footage of her! Thanks for this video! Stay safe!
Thank you! You too!
Thank you for all your videos and information
Thanks for the video, Richard...I was needing a break from all the fishing videos I was watching!
been waiting for this, thanks brother!
Love your channel buddy. I always research a new species pretty extensively when I am considering it, and often the information is lackluster or dead wrong. You are on point! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!
I'm actually getting one Today so thanks for the info I'm preparing my self because I want my striped knee tarantula to be comfortable, and I also want to understand them more very helpful video!
Dang... This editing is getting more awesome by the week. Nice close ups to! Keep safe and keep the content coming! #staysafe
thanks!
Have an adult and a sling. Both are very flighty, my adult stays mainly on display even though he’s got a ton of substrate and my sling hides. Such a beautiful species 🥰 Thanks for sharing.
Once again cool. Amazing!
Good camera work ! This was my first one after getting back into the hobby after almost thirty years . That's no bull about fasting . Mine only ate once or twice since September . Looking forward to Thursday .
Thanks 👍
I had this species and she lived to be 17 years. She died after having troubles with a molt. She basically just gave up after spending several days on her back and rolled over, and suddenly, as I watched, she curled her feen underneath her, and died. I couldn't do anything. She was never aggressive, but incredibly skittish, so there was no way I could handle her. She was SO fast, she could literally go from being in one end of the enclosure, to suddenly be in the other end, without me even seeing her move. She was terrific. I really should get back into this hobby.
My girl Maureen is always out… even though she has lots of hides and has even made multiple burrows in deep substrate! She was my 3rd ever T, and one of my favourites!
I enjoy mine as well I do have the blue form Iam glad you talked about the dry substrate because I heard different thing and I definitely trust your input thank you for all you do to teach us all stay safe Richard
Loved the video my guy🤘🏻my aphonopelma seemani just mooted and she is Blue🙌🏻
I love the editing style, it’s so cinematic 🤩
Glad you like it! thank you so much!
I just got one!!! So excited
Just got my very first Tarantula and it's this species!
I had 2 Zebra Stripped Knee Tarantulas. They were just the way you described them! One I could pick up and the other had a more aggressive temperament. Still, I have my memories of them.
This is cool!! My "Blue"form molted this week :) She/he was brown at first, and now she/he is very dark, almost black with amazing stripes on the knees and a bright orange underside. But you are right about their nature; mine, still pretty small, hides all the time and made tunnels all across the plastic container. Love this species so far! Thx for the great vid how to keep them.
Very informative! Just picked up one today and it bolted during the housing process haha, that mini heart attack moment.
FINALLY!!! Yay, thank you :)
Thank u so much for the video now I'm going to get one of these!😄👌👍
Thank you for the info!! I am getting one tomorrow and had a hard time finding information about them! ❤️
Glad I could help!
Mine is usually the calmest and gentle than most of my other tarantulas. It’s very chill and has never once acted defensive or skittish. Guess I got lucky.
I asked for this video! Thanks so much!
No problem!!
yay! i asked for this video a couple weeks ago i’m excited to see our differences and similarities in care! you should do psalmopoeus cambridgei next!
I've just received my Guyana pink toe, im getting a Martinique pink toe and im also ordering an Ecuador purple pink toe you inspired me dude they look so cool thanks
Stunning ❤️I have one and just love her
Love the photoshoot 😍 subbed
amazing video
Great vid buddy
I’m planning on getting one of these soon hopefully, thanks for the info man!
Thanks man! Great video, great info. Had a rose hair as a kid and have wanted another spider for a long time. I got a stripe knee about a year ago. Though she does love to burrow and has gone a month to 2 month stints being in her burrow she does spend a good amount of time out showing off. And when she hears me even touch that lid shell at least poke something out to let me see unless she's molting. Beautiful spider and fun to watch feed.
Cool, nice presentation.
I'm new to the hobby and should be getting my girl tomorrow. Your videos helped alot. Thanks Man
Glad to help
gotta love this video
I just got a juvenile today, really pumped.
Super awsome i have a female i love em👍👍 super cool video man and dead on info
My A. seemanni is the calmest thing ever seen, very docile 😍
Hey buddy! I have the BCF version of the A.Seemani. Fiesty during premolt and stays in her burrow 24/7 but comes out for water and when it's feeding time. Great video and keep them coming brother. Stay safe out there
It's like you read my mind. This is the one and only tarantula species I have right now and she has been fasting sense November and it seems like nobody has this tarantula.
Experiencing my first molt with this beautiful specimen
New to the hobby...Bought an A. Seemanni this past weekend as my first T, so far I guess I have lucked out and got a pretty chilled specimen. I held it for the first time today and it showed a calm demeanor and no interest in bolting or any defensive displays or hair flicking.
I got a seemanni as my second t! Lucked up on an adult female from a local exotics shop. She's gorgeous :)
I'm terrified of spiders but I love these videos and am now looking for my first tarantula thanks to Richard
Thanks so much for this!!
Nice - the species of my first tarantula! My mature female a. seemanni is the same. Two modes: rock, won't move or bolty crazy nutcase - alternating randomly between the two.
I love the new shots your getting on the cork bark, I'd love to see another chromatopelma cyaneopubescens video, mines burrowed up for 2months now. 💚🕷💚
Great idea!
Great video! I love my adult female, she is very aggressive though. She will protect her space like nothing else 😅 also yes totally agree with the climbing thing. I often see her at night trying to climb over everything. I do love this species!
This describes my girl to a T except she doesn't burrow much. She made herself a hide but tore it down and is contagiously building something else. She's been a pretty good eater so far except for when she's in premolt. You and your family stay safe as well. Tyfs God bless you
its ironic my chalcodes acts the same way as your seemani does. i will probably get this species next! love the stripes on the legs
That tarantula really reminds me of zebras but in a spider form
Nice video cool pet Tarantula
Richard, as always you’re videos are awesome. I’m getting a Megaphobema robustum from Fear Not tomorrow. Any chance you have one in your collection? Would love to see a Tarantula Tuesday on that!! Keep up the great content.
Thanks for the vid! Hope you and yours are doing well.
My vote for species topic: Holothele longipes and the good ol' Ephebopus murinus.
looking forward to thursday.
Thank you for this video, I just picked this species up. Juvenile. Once awake it crawled on my arms, as I was getting it out of the transport cup. I see that it could be a bolty best. I believe I have the blue. There is a Cobalt bluing on the prosomas. I am excited to observe my new friend.
I just got my very first Tarantula, and it happens to be this breed. So far so good, but I have so much to learn. I was glad to hear they aren’t very difficult to care for. If anyone has any advice it would be quite helpful.
Thank you for this i just picked up this species and theirs no good videos about them !
Mines quick with the threat pose and will bite with no hesitation. I still love him though😂😂😂
Chief have you been bit by your seemani?
@@XXXCRSPL nope I don't put myself in that position😂 and im glad because I hear it hurts alot
Just got a sub adult as a freebie so this helps! Thanks
my first a. seemanni should get to my place tomorrow!
I just got my aphomapelma seemanni yesterday
For me the long wait to maturity for this genus is far from a turn off, they seem very chill and awesome spiders to keep in general
Thanks for the video! I recently got a striped knee and a lot of people reported them as skittish. Luckily mines actually love being held and would come out of her hide for me to pick her up. I hold her everyday with no issues ❤😅
Mine is cool, she just hangs out on a web mat in a corner, she's a really good eater too
David Lee mine does the same thing 😂
David Lee it is about to molt if it made a web mat
Anuwar Mad Striped knee tarantulas always lay down web mats mine has a web mat and it still accepts food and has no signs of pre molt
Same as my 5 year old girl
YOUNG CHAP my chacodes does the same thing must be in the genus
Hi Richard. I hope you do a video about B. Emilia. More power and God bless.
My man, I Flippin love your videos, but my little guy started to leak and I was wondering if you could do a video on caring for leaking or any other type of injury. Thanks for the awesome advice and the dope videos
