Fun Fact I learned recently about Sayori’s death. She didn’t hang herself properly so she was left to asphyxiate. Her survival instincts kicked in and she clawed at the rope. If you look at the picture of her suicide her fingers are bloody because she tried to free herself.
Just a cool little fact, the MD5 Checksum value is like a unique ID for the file, meaning that the files being different shows that changes were made to it. The MD5 algorithm is also known to have extreme security vulnerabilities which probably contributed to them being able to change the game files
The culprit of this whole incident has reformed and is a way better person now. He is still regularly active in some Melee discords, one of which I'm a moderator in. He's also been unbanned from his local tournaments.
Genesis 2 was also rife with some shade: When I was there, the then PR'd Brawl Pika player in my region (Brick) got screwed over in pools because M2K sandbagged against a smasher named Sade, which almost eliminated Brick. M2K picked Ganon and basically let Sade win. On top of that, one of the TOs for Genesis 2 almost ran off with the entire prize pool of money (a melee Sheik player who coincidentally moved to my region after his ban). The other TOs caught him though, and he got banned.
Im not a big smash fan at all, but for some reason i love your videos. Maybe it's because it's a community i never knew anything about and the way you package and present it makes it interesting and fun to learn about for an outsider. Appeciate that 👍
I was legit just about to make a joke about how the Blue Goggles alt was the best alt and was the true source of the rogue Pichu's power. Then 6:00 happened...
Does the video mention that the Pichu cheating thing from 2016 actually involved a Wii instead of a Gamecube? Because the Pichu cheater modded the character through a USB/SD card. Dude would also only play on the same Wii he brought to the tourney and only ever use port 4, because thats where the Pichu hacks were assigned. I hope i'm not repeating anything from the video Edit: nvm he does mention it on 5:28
Idea to get *others* banned: instead of buffing yourself, buff your opponent You might lose, but honestly getting them banned is a waaaay better reward in my opinion because they cant play in tournaments anymore
he made multiple mods for melee and brawl that you probably know like project m he had a part in that i'm not sure how big but he worked on pm as well as silly melee if i'm correct
The fact that it would be so easy to do... Like, just increase the knockback a tiny bit, decrease the lag by 1 or 2 frames, maybe even mess with the RNG of moves like Misfire or Turnip Pull, increasing the chance by a 1 or 2%. Project M as well, there’s no stopping that with PM.
I've always wondered about this topic because there's very little to no protection against cheating at smash tournaments. Like the thing that made me think is at most tournaments you can bring your own controller. Which could be modified or be able to inject code into the console. Also you're allowed to bring your own beverages which could be laced with stimulants or something. So you could have players high on coke and stuff like that who basically had bullet time during tournaments. There's no real regulation against these possibilities and I just want to know which players would do this.
Uh...most people aren't in the 1%. Tournaments are specifically catered to gatherings of the best players. But yeah, a fake win just doesn't sound fun.
"This is part of the game code or something"... Dude, it's a hash function comparing his modded ISO, and the retail melee ISO. They are obviously not the same hash, so there is a modification present.
Broke: wait for Sakurai to buff your character.

@@vertsang5424 Disagree. People were cheaping out. There were many unused rooms - which is why he couldn't fill the quota.
@@vertsang5424 wait did he book the rooms or did the smash players boom the rooms and decided they would stuff 20 people there.
@@ChimpRevolution well, the one who book the rooms has to pay so planks should be the one who did it
Vibeguy1052 the smash players had to use the hotel rooms. They had to meet a minimum quota to use the venue. The TO was charged extra because the smash players shared rooms instead of filling them.

Fun Fact I learned recently about Sayori’s death. She didn’t hang herself properly so she was left to asphyxiate. Her survival instincts kicked in and she clawed at the rope. If you look at the picture of her suicide her fingers are bloody because she tried to free herself.
Ganondorf screamed DORIYAH and killed pichu
This is probably the first time I've seen a game ad and I'm genuinely interested in it, thanks zero!
Also I checked Dan Salvato's video, and this was 3 years ago, wow.
Just a cool little fact, the MD5 Checksum value is like a unique ID for the file, meaning that the files being different shows that changes were made to it. The MD5 algorithm is also known to have extreme security vulnerabilities which probably contributed to them being able to change the game files
LOL imagine expertly and secretly buffing a character in in a game with a secret cheat code type thing to win a prize pool of like 80$
Squid-Boy
It probably didn’t take much work tbh.
J2Dragon yea but still, only $80? Kinda stupid ngl
Menacing_egg273 It definitely takes less effort then training until you’re good enough to win.
Menacing_egg273 pretty sure he did it more for the brag rights he would get more so than the money
Zero, todos los días veo tus vídeos mientras trabajo. Muchas gracias wn. Por favor no dejes de subir entre semanas o no tendré a nadie a quien ver. :(
Why does zero's mustache look like two dogs kissing?
Thanks

Because he entrapped the souls of two dogs, and forced them into his mustache to eternally live in torment.

Finally, a sponsor that isn”t Raid Shadow Legends!
It's a decent game, but it runs along that Pay2Win line way too close for my liking. I'd still recommend to try it out though
Lol I love the DJ Nintendo/The Moon strategy 😂
ZeRo needs a Head & Shoulders sponsorship

The culprit of this whole incident has reformed and is a way better person now. He is still regularly active in some Melee discords, one of which I'm a moderator in. He's also been unbanned from his local tournaments.

Narukami鳴上 it is xenoblade
Genesis 2 was also rife with some shade:
When I was there, the then PR'd Brawl Pika player in my region (Brick) got screwed over in pools because M2K sandbagged against a smasher named Sade, which almost eliminated Brick. M2K picked Ganon and basically let Sade win.
On top of that, one of the TOs for Genesis 2 almost ran off with the entire prize pool of money (a melee Sheik player who coincidentally moved to my region after his ban). The other TOs caught him though, and he got banned.
Assigning the cheat in player 4 already kinda gave it away lol if it was in player 2 maybe it wouldn't have been too obvious
Bugster Lincapoop yeah u kind of right
Im not a big smash fan at all, but for some reason i love your videos. Maybe it's because it's a community i never knew anything about and the way you package and present it makes it interesting and fun to learn about for an outsider. Appeciate that 👍

Nice sponsorship ✌️
Also, according to steam reviews, it's a pretty decent game.
@SpoobyHD whenever someone gets sponsored by raid shadow legends you can see their soul die a little
Anyone else watching old videos to remember the good times? No, just me? Ok :'(
When you make your Preferred Rules give you an advantage
I just came here after 10 months, man.... it feels wierd
I hope i'm not repeating anything from the video
Edit: nvm he does mention it on 5:28
Idea to get *others* banned: instead of buffing yourself, buff your opponent
You might lose, but honestly getting them banned is a waaaay better reward in my opinion because they cant play in tournaments anymore
Didn't Leffen consider playing Pichu at one point? Is this slandering?

Oh how the mighty have fallen, and I’m not referring to the video, I’m referring to you ZeRo

Bruh a sponsor that actually made me want to check it out... that’s the first
I've always wondered about this topic because there's very little to no protection against cheating at smash tournaments.
When you’re so bad you have to hack to win
Lol! Right! I guess that dude suck big time. 😂
You're not wrong but it's pichu
Uh...most people aren't in the 1%. Tournaments are specifically catered to gatherings of the best players.
But yeah, a fake win just doesn't sound fun.
Or just don't play
J Puff phichu is good and ultimate
"This is part of the game code or something"... Dude, it's a hash function comparing his modded ISO, and the retail melee ISO. They are obviously not the same hash, so there is a modification present.
I wish the controller swapping in doubles wasn't banned.
That sounds like a super legit strat tbqh
