PRAM Reset :
Your Mac stores certain settings in a special memory area even if it is turned off. On Intel-based Macs, this is stored in memory known as NVRAM; on PowerPC-based Macs, this is stored in memory known as PRAM.
Information stored in NVRAM / PRAM includes:
Speaker volume
Screen resolution
Startup disk selection
Recent kernel panic information, if any
If you experience issues related to these functions, you may need to reset the NVRAM or PRAM. For example, if your Mac starts up from a startup disk other than the one you've specified in Startup Disk preferences, or if a "question mark" icon appears briefly when your Mac starts up, resetting NVRAM / PRAM may help.
System Management Controller (SMC) Reset:
It is possible that the SMC could encounter an issue that may cause unusual system behavior typically related to the symptoms described below. In some cases, resetting the SMC may be the only correct method to resolve the issue. However, an SMC reset should only be attempted after all other standard troubleshooting has been performed.
The remedy for the loud and unusual theme music: simply mute the video, any what there are no verbal instructions. The pace was a bit fast for me as well so I set the play speed at .75. Hope this helps. And thanks to the person who made this. Consider the advice .

In the overlay regarding smc reset it says command option p+r, what you press in the video is crt, option+ shift

watching your video, I think smc reset is done with left shift, left control, left option on keyboard while you press power button. But your text explanation says command+Option+P+R. Correct me if Iam wrong.
i have problem in my macbook pro. its wont turn on when its cold place mean if its in ac room . after i keep it in blanket or keep in sun directly. then its on. should i replace temperature sensor. al ready rested pram and smc rest.

Hi, I tried your fix it a couple of times with out fixing my problem! My 2012 Macbook pro immediately shuts down when I plug in my phone charging chord into the forward usb socket, I have to disconnect the battery from the logic board pull the power chord then reconnect them, the mac will then start right up! What can I do to fix this?
works fine with the pram reset. kudos for that! however, i cannot complete the smc reset. the moment i press the power on button together with the others, my computer automatically starts. Help please. thanks.

Your SMC reset button config instruction isn't accurate....although you performed it correctly in the video...the buttons are "control, option, shift...and power"
Master knows what may be happening, my Mac early 2011, 16gb ram, hd ssd ... constantly colored ball, and it seems that as the use worsens ... I have already made clean restoration .... Hello good day, i have an issue with a macbook pro late 2011, it originally had lion os on it, and 4gb, so i upgrade the ram to 8gb, and i wanted to upgrade it to el capitan os, so when i want it to install it via usb, it run too slow the process, so im installing the mavericks os, but with the 8gb ram it runs to slow, and i want to know why, cause it has a processor core i5, thanks

i accidentally dropped water on my touchpad so i saw another video where i took it apart and dipped the touchpad in alchohal to dry out the water droplets.. anyway i do that and put it back together, and the mouse and screen still move on they own. weeks later the fan starts trippin i'm thinking i need to replace the touchpad everything else is good.

During this video I managed to turn on my Dead Macbook air late 2009. Soon after starting up, after heating up a little bit the screen has some artifacts and it shuts down again.

+Antonio MS he copied and pasted the pram reset instructions but forgot to update the text to apply to smc reset. jesus. a lot of people are probably thinking they're resetting their smc when they're just doing a pram reset.

WRONG! 3:13 you write: "Resetting SMC … 2. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys" that is PRAM reset - that's something different! But it makes sense to try PRAM first. Then SMC reset: MagSafe must be connected to power, then press shift+option(alt)+control(ctrl) and power button at the same time, release all and turn on your mac with the power button.

This video is only for newer Apple notebooks with fully interior battery pack (no coin slot latch on the bottom case). Also, the first MacBook was 2006, so you do not have a 2003 MacBook. No one but you knows what a "circle of death" is. If you are writing about the prohibitory sign, it means the ROM thinks the version of OS on the startup volume is not compatible with this Mac, such as OS X 10.11 on a 2006 MacBook Pro... for example.

A HUGE mistake!!!! At 03:10 to 03:20, the text on your video says "Resetting SMC - Press and hold Command-Option-P-R keys before the grey screen appears". That's for NVRAM reset. The tech's fingers press the correct keys, though. Geez, you guys need to redo this. No wonder I see hundreds of folks in forums complaining that SMC didn't reset!!!!
