I love watching him load his pizza up with Parm cheese, using his fingers in the pepper flakes, and dousing it with the grease off Ben's pizza. Hilarious watching him do that all while having a conversation offering just about the worst possible advise you could ever give a guy going on a date. 😂😂😂
Philip S. Hoffman ... what a talent we lost. The other day I finally watched for the first time Synecdoche, New York and what a brilliant film that is. This really gives you an idea of his acting talent and range, from drama to comedy. You are very much missed! RIP.
His delivery of those lines is so fucking good it's unreal. I haven't seen the actual movie but this looks like one of his best performances and it's in a Ben Stiller movie, talk about fucking acting range
Ever since I saw Phillip in twister as dusty, I instantly liked him and his comedic acting ways. He had variety, he was in the big lebowski, 25th hour, and many more. Miss that guy!
No. Jack Black wouldn't have done this role as much justice. And I'm not saying that because Philip Seymour Hoffman passed or because Jack Black sucks. You're just seeing a semi-overweight funny guy and you think, because you've seen Jack Black be that guy countless times, that this seems written for him. There was a depth to Sandy Lyle that Jack Black hasn't proven himself to be capable of expressing yet. Philip Seymour Hoffman was the best.
Kat K Yeah, PSH made this role. Those parts wouldn't have been funny without him. Jack Black would've tried to hard to be funny. They knew what they were doing when they chose Seymour Hoffman for the role, he was perfect for it
PSH is the one who can pull off the dripping arrogance this role needs. He had in The Talented Mr. Ripley too. After a few minutes you really start to believe the world is beneath his character.
Are you from NYC? Because as a new yorker, this movie has always felt like our Good Will Hunting. and Hoffman is our Will. the choice to get the sausage and pepperoni slice is just so perfectly excessive and gross. PSH was the man. I threw a baseball back to him and his kid once when i was like 16 in the park near Horatio pl. Dude was an true nyc guy.
Philip Seymour Hoffman 1967.7.23 - 2014.2.2 (Scent of a Woman, When a Man Loves a Woman, Twister, Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, The Big Lebowski, Patch Adams, Next Stop Wonderland, Happiness, Magnolia, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Flawless, Almost Famous, Red Dragon, Punchdrunk Love, 25th Hour, Cold Mountain, Along Came Polly, Capote (Academy Awards of Best Actors), Mission: Impossible III, Charlie Wilson's War, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead...) Age: 46 Cause: DRUG Intoxicarion
I wish I could hold him and tell him “you are amazing”... I wish I could tell him how much we all loved him, and how the industry was never the same without him. My fiancé and I wish he was still here, we really do..,,
Great actors own comedic roles this film and boogie nights just let ya know he was a true blessed talent so so so funny, a true artist and sadly sadly missed,
No affiliation, just admiration, but we spotted a real New York small business in a supporting role in this video. Joe's Pizza's star shines bright at 1:04. Let's give small businesses everywhere some love ❤ - when you spot one, give them a shout out.
He put his buddy's insecurities right in the forefront of his mind, reminded him he didn't think it would work out anyway, and offered questionable advice before the date all in 90 seconds. What a hilarious but dangerously bad friend lol.
Love how complete opposites these two characters are, Ben’s character blots the grease off his pizza , Hoffman’s character loads his with parmesan and unscrews the pepper flake shaker. One character - conservative, timid, delicate, and the other - in your face, a bit of a slob, and a force of nature lol
"Dont be shy, it's just a little tap on the tushy. Say 'BOOP I'm your Daddy.' Brings them right back to childhood. She'll be putty in your hands." That didn't age well.
i get frustrated every goddamn time i see a hoffman movie. i always say "why? why did u have to die? u were so great! yet guys like Macaulay culkin are still around doing drugs left and right
I love watching him load his pizza up with Parm cheese, using his fingers in the pepper flakes, and dousing it with the grease off Ben's pizza. Hilarious watching him do that all while having a conversation offering just about the worst possible advise you could ever give a guy going on a date. 😂😂😂
ikr lol
Funny too because of Ruebens obsession about people sticking their fingers in the peanut bowl in bars.
*advice
*I'm your daddy* 😏 🤣
sort of looked like Ben Stiller broke character and they just kept it. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is known for his improv
Hoffman has immortalized this film and he wasn't even the lead in it lol
I felt the same way with Almost Famous. He was barely even in it either
Or Boogie Nights
Yeah he absolutely steals the show in this film, shame we will never get to see him do a second one!
The Talented Mr. Ripley.
@@slashholt23 Tommy, how's the peeping 👀 😏
I Actually don’t think it’s gonna work out but I’m pulling for ya Rube! LMFAO!!!! Guy was too classic!
Rubin - “Place didn’t sound ethic.”
Sandy - “What was the name?”
Rubin - “ Al-Hafez.”
He was so damn good.
Hoffman was absolutely master class acting in this comedy 👏 he made the movie a lot better in all his screen time.
He was priceless in this movie.
The way he says "spankin" is frickin hilarious!!
RIP, Brother.
we all need a little Sandy Lyle in our life
That my friend, I do agree. lol.
Amen!
👍👍 indeed we do
How so?
I do his name is Chris has my buddy I knew him since I was 5 I'm 28 now
Philip S. Hoffman ... what a talent we lost.
The other day I finally watched for the first time Synecdoche, New York and what a brilliant film that is. This really gives you an idea of his acting talent and range, from drama to comedy. You are very much missed! RIP.
Hoffman was also great in Mission Impossible III
Capote...Moneyball..
...Doubt...the list goes on and on. One of the greatest ever and it's soooo sad that he's not still here.
"I'm your daddy.... I'm your daddy"
Very few actors had the range Hoffman did... RIP
manraj basi He is definitely missed
You are damn right bro.....
The way he says “there’s something you need to know,” the sincerity behind his tone, brilliant.
His delivery of those lines is so fucking good it's unreal. I haven't seen the actual movie but this looks like one of his best performances and it's in a Ben Stiller movie, talk about fucking acting range
He really was the talent in that community theater 😂
NES 83’ that indicates he’s not an amateur
The best part is when he hangs Rubins pizza and drains the grease onto his pizza 😂😂😂😂
I can't watch that.
The way he delivers this is really hilarious for some reason
He was so insane good in this movie.. god he should never have gone away.
I just came to see Phillip Seymour Hoffman use up Ben Stiller's extra pizza grease.
The pizza and oil scene is beautiful ahahaha
2004 was a good year for these type of films
Sandy made this movie ! He's the funniest of them all
The French guy is also hilarious
2019....Still miss you Mr. Hoffman
Ever since I saw Phillip in twister as dusty, I instantly liked him and his comedic acting ways. He had variety, he was in the big lebowski, 25th hour, and many more. Miss that guy!
Both of those pizza slices were desecrated.
Seems like a part written for Jack Black
No. Jack Black wouldn't have done this role as much justice.

+commissionergordan Actually, Jack Black did audition for this role and it came down to him and PSH.
commissionergordan Yet Philip Seymour Hoffman did an excellent job!
PSH is the one who can pull off the dripping arrogance this role needs. He had in The Talented Mr. Ripley too. After a few minutes you really start to believe the world is beneath his character.
PSH was 90% this movie, man he killed that roll... Great actor!!
1:36 “thats best part”😂😂
I loved him in this film, rip
Same pizza joint in Taxi Driver
He's not the friend we want but damnit if he's not the friend we need !
OMG...THAT...PIZZA🤤🤤🤤
"I just wish they wouldn't surround me with a bunch of amateurs" 🤣🤣🤣
Here's the deal.... I'm the star of the show! My favorite line!!
Definitely a New York moment. PSH is so underrated.
RIP Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
RIP PSH.
people are saying R.I.P because they enjoyed his work, no need to hate on people who came to remember a great actor.
The pizza grease scene is one of my greatest memories from this movie that and sharted
"I like to give her a little spankin!" haha, priceless!
"I'm your daddy, I'm your daddy" the tone, the intention, great actor Phillippe Seymour Hoffman 🎉😢🎉..😂😂😂😂

Christine Izeki my other Philip Seymour Hoffman faves are The Big Lebowski & Red Dragon
I'm your daddy. I'm your daddy.
I wish I could hold him and tell him “you are amazing”...
I wish I could tell him how much we all loved him, and how the industry was never the same without him. My fiancé and I wish he was still here, we really do..,,
Philip Seymour Hoffman stole every film he was in From Boogie Nights onwards. Well the ones I saw anyway
So sad to hear the news today
Ju-das! 🤣🤣🤣
as well as Jesus. lmao
Fuck! Phil missed the Super Bowl!
He didn't miss much...it's sucked! But he will missed!
Brandon Kamins VERY VERY TRUE lol R.I.P Phillip Seymour Hoffman
"...There's something you need to know. I have it in me to be a GREAT DOCTOR!! And in order to do that I have to sacrifice!"
Great actors own comedic roles this film and boogie nights just let ya know he was a true blessed talent so so so funny, a true artist and sadly sadly missed,
“Here’s the deal, I’m the star of the show “
He was so correct 😂
Hoffman was one of those actors that made it look so easy.
That pizza grease part kills me everytime
No affiliation, just admiration, but we spotted a real New York small business in a supporting role in this video. Joe's Pizza's star shines bright at 1:04. Let's give small businesses everywhere some love ❤ - when you spot one, give them a shout out.
The pepperoni and sausage slice is so perfectly gross. I heard Hoffman showed up to the Basketball scene with his hand already dirty. He KNEW funny.
Philip Seymour Hoffman playing a washed up actor is hilarious in itself
"Place didn't sound ethnic."
"What was the name?"
"Al ha fez." 😂
It brings them right back to childhood 🤣😂
Hard to believe he was Mitch in Patch Adams.
RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman (July 23, 1967 - February 2, 2014), aged 46
You will be remembered as a legend.
He eats that pizza in miliseconds!
He's inhaling pizza
Farley and PSH as brothers would’ve been a great movie
I have irritable bowel syndrome so I feel this scene lmao
Judas was the lead though in JCSS… 😂
this part confused me..reuben was a germaphobe but didnt mind that sandy grabbed his slice and basically drained it of the grease? lol
jabroni Sandy is Jesus so it’s okay
At First I Watched All Quiet On The Western Front But Philip Seymour Hoffman Is In This Movie!
Best scene ever
Phillip Seymore Hoffman could go from Jack black to Oscar winning performance
Lol he sounds like my dad giving me the ol' sex talk back in the day.
RIP Hofman
Everything after this scene was epic and will go down in history as the turning point in the evolution of mankind 😉😉
My God PSH was so damn good he disgusts me to look at him, yet much like a car wreck I cannot look away and I LMAO at his scenes in this! lol
He was amazing
why are these characters friends? Lol xD
PSH. What a legend!
I wish they made a sequel that focused on Sammy’s career revival
The place didn't sound ethnic. What was the name? Al Hafez 😂
He put his buddy's insecurities right in the forefront of his mind, reminded him he didn't think it would work out anyway, and offered questionable advice before the date all in 90 seconds. What a hilarious but dangerously bad friend lol.
"Al-Hafez" 😄🇲🇦😆
Love the way he says “You got irritable bowel syndrome, dude.”
Philip Seymour Hoffman=Bucking frilliant !!!:)
I like PSH sandy character and his owen davian character from MI3
Later he tells Ruben that women find spanking offensive lol
i just noticed ,the bald headed judge guy is the flight attendant on bridesmaids.
Amazing!
Sandy open the flask and takes the spices with his bare fingers
Legends never die
They said machine, an answering machine.
I feel like PSH's character was a relative of Walter Sobchek from The Big Lebowski.
How do you see it that way?
Phillip is the Man
From the top! Ok wonsuk?!?
Love how complete opposites these two characters are, Ben’s character blots the grease off his pizza , Hoffman’s character loads his with parmesan and unscrews the pepper flake shaker. Philip Seymour Hoffman made me love pizza in a way I can’t explain. Rest In Peace. ❤️🍕
So at this point in the story you know Ben Stiller doesn't like spicy food... Well guess what's for dinner!
He should have been the lead and the entire movie should have been about this character.
i get frustrated every goddamn time i see a hoffman movie. i always say "why? why did u have to die? u were so great! yet guys like Macaulay culkin are still around doing drugs left and right
I know this comment written five years ago but at least Macaulay has cleaned up a lot since then.
PSH was a total scene stealer. Lol he was the only reason this film is memorable.
I’m not a virgin Sandy...
Not technically.
RIP PSH
You gotta get that greasy pizza!
