Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
11. 😁
Amazingly funny movie. One of his best but sadly didn’t perform at the box office. Weirdly, all the critics slate it. They don’t know comedy. The trial phone call is next level funny also. Ben Stiller genius at work.
@@Jason-me1bs wrong, mr bean is
@@Jason-me1bs this movie wasn’t that funny it was more bizarre
Over 1000
Otherwise known as; that time Jack Black played a normal guy.
He's spent the rest of his life trying to imitate Chip, never realizing how annoying he is.
Agree.
Wouldn't have worked as well if Jack Black had done his usual over the top performance.
In this one, he had to play the straight guy.
Great film, much underrated. Saw in the cinema at the time, still return to it now and again.
Jack Black also played normal in a skate racing movie called "Airborne"
@@BedStuy also in King Kong
@@kevinbermingham3135 what was that face he made that one point in the song. He actually did play himself. It was just Jim Carreys scene to shine. But he did to. So like huh?
The screaming part of the song is in sync with Jack Black’s scream 2:43 🤣 GOLD
Hey, do you know the song name?
@@fpshooterful "Hey Man, Nice Shot" by Filter
Can we just talked how ripped Jim in this scene! Dude's a legend!
I'm glad somebody else said something about that I noticed that too wow he looks great
Fast forward 17y and see him even more ripped…
ua-cam.com/video/DwD_km0jbLk/v-deo.html
Well, its probably before he got Hepatitis A and Herpes.
Ripped? He's literally just slim
See him in Number 23 he's got the Jesus lean going on
2: 38 that lil swat always cracked me up
Homie turned into Shaq
The dunk is much more realistic then that stupid scene from Spider-Man
You don't think being Spider Man would've allowed him to make that dunk like he did?
Reminds of that old basketball game called Arch Rivals. Think it was on the Master System.
A film way ahead of its time.
i can still feel the soles of my friends shoes on my back...
0:34 IS THAT JACK BLACK!?
“We’re playing prison rules huh”🤣
No rules, right?
My favorite line 😂hilarious jim carrey the ex con 😂😂
Time to call prison Mike
@@nealbradleigh5069 no, prison rules are no blood, no foul
Aka Draymond Green rules
If that dunk ever happened at a pick up game, the reaction would be complete celebration by everyone except for Jack Black
Thats the only part that throws me off on this awesome scene.
until they realized the backboard was broken
Nah it would still be awesome. Just okay half court.
@@xekind Why would they care if the backboard is broken? It's not theirs
@@alexh8613Maybe because that means they can’t play full court anymore dufus?
I've never understood why people didn't like this film. It was brilliant.
I guess it depends on the environment at the time. Bad advertising,or other hits at the time. But there will never be a Jim Carrey
Not only was pure comedy, but it also had quite a message about social and mental issues.
Probably people were not used for Jim Carrey playing a bad guy.
@@Abelius The movie is like a prelude to our times. Kids are willing to anything for attention just to get follow. Even the case with the killer kids. Now that's all normal, they should do a remake of this movie for this generation
Cheesey I guess?
Only Jim Carrey can put Jack Black in froze mode. Jim is thr king of physical comedy
I think so too I just wonder what Michael Richards could’ve been had he not had that whole ordeal
🤣
Nacho Libre
That is all.
he is tough but yet he is not a 300 pound man. he put that dude on the ground
The heroine Fatz consumes in tropic thunder does this too, I would argue
What's legendary is seeing a thin Jack Black
You call that thin??
Jk
@@Icanonlycountto4 For Jack Black it is.
Thinish
Have you seen him lately? He looks like a slob... always wearing grease stained T-shirts and that long beard...eesh!
American standards its thin
That suicide warm up is quite legit though. Man stopped on a dime every single damn time.
And he was playing in a all star lol
Yea seems like Jim shaped up for this scene 💪
He is just mimicking Jerry Lewis there
Honestly they were super rude. If I saw a dude shatter a backboard Ike that and pull all the other hilarious stuff I would for sure buy him a Heineken.
Yea no fun at all
For sure!
Ikr. In real life, the guys that I play with in my gym would’ve been shocked and amazed
Why is the backboard made of glass anyway...?
Bunch of Kevins for sure
That was a severely underrated play on that dunk. No way anyone reacts like those guys did.
Facts! I would’ve been hype!
Yeah seeing someone do that would definitely rate higher in experience than finishing an inconsequential pick up game with friends. He would have been a hero irl.
Unless those guys were all really lame lol
@@hez859 haha
@@bigheadrhino What does a 'pick up game' mean?.
That shot of Jim hanging of the ring with glass falling is awesome
His cathartic roar at the same time, epic!
My favourite part
@@jung1180 you’re right that had me in stitches laughing too
With his jock hanging out his shorts lol!
i felt they could have slowed the shot down by another 2.5x
LMFAO
"hey Rick! I've Never done a slam dunk before"" thanks for the boost "...😂😂
As much of a comedy this film is , it’s also a great psychological thriller. Jim portrays the funny and the psycho so good . One of my fav films ever
You should watch the thriller trailer of this!
As a kid I remember being very concerned for Jim Carrey's character.
Watched this only a couple times as a young guy. And this comment is why. It's more brilliant and amazing watching this now, but as a kid, I was a little scared. XD
You are way over thinking this shit it's a jim carey movie same guy that did ace and dumb and dumber lol this shit ain't 23 or whatever that was supposed to be
@@diddymoe6816it's freaking black comedy which means it has thriller part and in the end Chip looks as freaking main villain in Psycho
Jim Carrey was a force to reckon with in 90s and early 2000s
Who else grew up with this ? 👍
I was 11 when it came out. Legendary
Yep this and liar liar
I was pretty much raised off of jim carry movies
It’s so raw. Although he is constantly rejected, he basks in every moment, seizing every opportunity. He is himself, whether you like it or not.
Ive always thought the same about this scene
He has admirable qualities to be fair, and doesn't let anyone get the better of him.
Right. It's almost like he's got one shot, one opportunity, to seize everything he ever wanted, in one moment...
Shall we stop excusing assholes just because they're being themselves?
Jesus Fucking Christ, Adolf Hitler was just being himself then.
@Dubbadizzo86 and he captures it, doesn't let it slip
Thanks for the boost lol 🤣🤣🤣
Legendary 😂😂😂😂😂😂🙌🏾🙌🏾
When someone puts in a mouth piece for a pickup game you know they gonna out hustle everyone. “Feed me under the boards you’ll find out.” 😂
solid pick, loose ball hustle, 100% in field goals. Chip actually had a solid game
FACTS
And didn't pull a hammy!
Also Great 1 vs 1 defense
Don't forget that screen
And got motivated as fuck after he got caught reaching after "checking" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It still amazes me how I can’t find one guy or gal that likes this movie nor is it everrrr brought up in movie conversations lol still one of my top favorite movies 😜
This just prove how hardcore basketball used to be in the 90s and 2000s
Oooh yea. 90s kid here remembers.
@@Wolf10media yeah bro 😎👍🏽
"Hey Man, Nice Shot" here was one of the best-chosen songs for use in a scene, in film history. How F'ING perfect!!! 😂🎉
I have this movie on DVD. One of Jim's best yet most underappreciated films. Every scene is gold.
he was a perfectionist in that movie
The scene where Jim Carrey fight like Spok and Captain Kirk was hillarious.
Well, wouldn't see it as "gold" but it's definitely an underrated movie.
Whats the name of the movie?
@@JohnnyCage4Real Cable Guy
Steven is such a stuck up prick and was my least favorite in this film lol Chip is a god! And I would’ve become best friends with this dude
I could never understand how no one wanted to hang out with him after this, It was hilarious, and epic..
He toadstooled a guy but yes.
I mean, he ruined the game by destroying the hoop. What's a fun ball play when the show off ruins it for everyone?
If I had seen a guy do this in real life, I’d have asked for his autograph afterward, haha! He had some sweet air time after that “boost.” 😉👍
I'm surprised Heineken didn't jump on that and make it a commercial
That would be a great slogan every time lol. We're not friends. Well let's change that. I'll buy you a Heineken.
"Don't wanna pull a hammy!" 🤣
How can anyone say they didn't like this movie smh🤭😂
😂🤣😅🤣 The way he falls off the rim. Jim might be the goat of physical comedy.
If we're including the dead, I think Chris Farley is the champ at physical comedy
The warm up, when the lines close in 🤣🤣🤣
Chip Douglas... his sails unfurled.
I grew up in Kentucky, a dunk like that you would have been King of the neighborhood ! lol!!
One of best dunks of all time.
We're playing prison rules huh?
*"I love thith game!"*
...the second time Jack Black has died to this song on film. bummer
When I saw this scene for the first time i couldnt stop laughing
He walked over Black Jack's back, LOL
Funny how he just lets his whole body go after the dunk, like he was high off of it for a few seconds
If you saw some guy do that I dont care who your it would be awesome
This, along with the movie titled "23" was always a reminder to me how much of a COMPLETE ACTOR and OVERALL PHENOM Jim Carey was and obviously still to this day, has been one of the top actors in the entire world.
Sucks to realize we may never see him in anything new ever again!
Happy retirement to the MAN, the MYTH, and the JiMCaReY!!!
He’s awesome in Sonic
Watch the new Sonic movies, he has made an epic reentry to the movie industry in those.
was 23 any good? I was much younger when i saw it but I remember not being able to get into the entire premise. Maybe I'm missing out?
He called dude "White Shadow"🤣😂🤣
That body check at 1:49 yo he rocked ol boy!! 😆
Bro if someone really did a dunk like that today and shattered the backboard like an NBA JAM arcade game that ish would go hella viral lol BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA 🏀 🔥!!!!
I completely forgot Jack Black was in this film!!
Jim Carrey is unmatched in comedy.
1:39-1:42 LOL Jack Blacks movement XE
This was truly Carrey’s best role and he committed completely. Such an underrated gem.
Not his best role, but an underrated movie, for sure.
@@mathi9084 I consider it his best role as well, there are so many memorable scenes and he plays the funny, unpredictable psycho to perfection.
What's legendary is how Jim Carey shows us how it's easy to find out what your doing through the grid
What do you mean ? Sorry English second language. Thanks !
Filter just belongs in this scene..... "Let's see what you got, White Shadow "😂😂
A line from the past. Majority of people today wouldn't catch the dig, so why waste it in a movi .... oh yeah, with Carry's character, it's perfect. He's so behind the curve, it's a perfect fit (from what time tunnel did they pull his trunks from?)!
ㄹㅇ로 다가 편집 퍼펙트 코리오그라피 퍼펙트 연기자 퍼펙트. 흠잡을데가 없다
I remember watching this at the theater and almost wetting myself....Jim Carrey is the king!🤣🤣🤣
Lies again? NBA GOALS
You should wear a diaper then. =)
Yo Jim Carrey's quads are motivating
The funniest scene from the Cable Guy from Jim Carrey playing Basketball😂😂😂😂😂😂🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
Only Jim Carrey can make a scene this füçkin epic...
Criminally underrated movie. Saw it in theaters. Died laughing the whole time
Wow forgot black was in it looks so young
Everybody said this movie was not so good, and bashed Jim Carrey for making 10 million, but I always thought it was just one of his dark comedy movies. It definitely an acquired taste of a comedy, but I always liked it. Oddly enough I completely forgot about this scene. Me and my brother re-winded this scene a dozen times or more and were rolling every time.
It's a masterpiece. I remember seeing it even though all I heard was it was bad. WHATTT? Amazing movie.
Jack Black is amazing, and the only who can ever upstage him is the one of the only legend, Jim Carrey
What a bunch of sore losers. Cable Guy killed it out there and they all acted like they are gonna cry..
If anyone did that in my weekly game, we’d be in awe. What a bunch of jerks
Jack Bkack? Holy crap he was thin.
Jim Carrey was great. Is great!
" You guys play here too" 😂😂. As if Chip didn't know that already 😂. He's always doing surveillance 😂
Top 5 best JC movie. Every scene is hilarious
liar, liar dumb and dumber and ace ventura
Breaking a backboard is almost impossible that would’ve been quite a feat
What movie is this ?
name of the film please ?
Bowser AND Doctor Eggman? 😂😂
Jim Carrey is the only dude to play basketball in chuck taylors after the 1920s
I love this game!
everyone in the room would have been gopsmacked by that dunk. Unrealistic
Jim is in terrifyingly good shape for this movie lmao
He had Steven open under the rim and still hit bro with a Shaq Attack ! LoL score was literally 1 - 1 😆 🤣
🤣🤣
Their reaction to the dunk was salty AF. Guys at my gym woulda been hyped
Jim Carrey could have been a perfect Lupin
Such a golden age, no lives matter stuff
80s to early 2000s. The best decades human kind have gone through. Unforgettable, unbeatable times.
This is how Lebron James play.
When Ferris stopped being Ferris.
Man if thats me and me and my friends crew playing pick up, were hyping up the guy that did the dunk and telling the guy that got dunked on hes got next, and let the other team shoot for the other 4 spots with the the odd guy out also getting next
If we dont get thrown out of the gym for breaking the rim lmaoo
And were playimg 4v4 half court and roasting the guy that got dunked on all night lol
This film got shit reviews but i think its awesome.
We Muslims do not treat people like a piece of meat. We teach them and treat them well, and God rewards the doers of good. 🇵🇸🇩🇿🌹✌️
I saw that movie for the first time when I was 13, 2014 I think, it hit my heart with the realism
Love this scene soooo good the shaq shatter is gold
I'm wondering if most of the people who repeat at 1:48 want to see that pick again or to figure out if that's a travel...? 😂
2:57 The Quickening.
Jim, Jack and Matthew. Three legends!
Jim was an absolute beast back then and this film ROCKS!
We need someone to do this dunk in a dunk contest!
Idk if I’m playing pick up and someone smashes the backboard that’s a day well spent in my book
Prison rules is something I would say though I love this little clip so much. lol😂😂☠️☠️
check it: jim proceeds to make sure the ball is all good
Who would be mad about having a teammate like this other than Matthew "I run people over and don't go to jail" Broderick
When Jack Black isn't the craziest person in the room. 😂
Actually, Jim would be my friend forever if he made that dunk. I would have taken him out for beers.
