    Thanks for letting me know they are siblings. At first I was dumbfounded as to why she didn't convert to a queen and get the game over with. Then she did it again, having 2 bishops. I was WTH? When I started learning chess, I forced myself to learn how to checkmate with two bishops. It's one of the most elegant checkmates. I was following her every step of the way! You basically lure the king into one of two edges and then "zigzag" the two bishops to bring the king to the corner. Very useful checkmate!

      thanks for explaining it. Have a good year!

    • @kevinvi7
      @kevinvi7 Рік тому

      My method usually involves centralizing the two bishops & king In the center of the board & then slowly pushing the king back to one of the edges. After that same thing - force the king into a corner & DON’T STALEMATE 😂

    • @MrSpeedyAce
      @MrSpeedyAce Рік тому +1

      @@kevinvi7 That’s exactly right! I prefer the right corner. It’s all about understanding the space they cover infront of a pair, and diagonally (a literal wall that channels the king to the corner). The final step is beautiful, “king swaps position with bishop”, followed by check and then checkmate.

    Tweedledee has a twin brother, I don't know if this girl is his sister but when he plays with his twin brother, I only know who is who when he starts picking boogers out of his nose, then it's easy to identify him. This boy is a genius.
    In this particular chess match it looks like they were both in "Alice in Wonderland" 😅😂😊

      It's even cuter than that. Go back a few seconds. The boy touched his king to move it and then when he goes to move another piece he pulls back realizing it's touch move. He looks up at his sister distraught and she nods back to allow him to move another piece and play off the king touch as an adjustment. She's being very kind!

    In almost all videos of children under 10 playing chess has this phenomenon.. they look more at what's happening around them than at the board, but it's not like they don't care about the game, It's just that unlike pre-teens, teens and adults, they don't seem to be affected by the pressure of winning or losing, even though they want to win. That's really amazing!

      It's interesting, there's a seemingly small set of activities that kids can quickly master. A lot of the skill in chess, up to a certain level, is excellent memory, excellent visualization skills, and rapid calculation, that's something talented young children can do. They don't need to memorize endless opening lines, though that helps, if they can simply see the right move based on a sufficient number of games, "intuition" and incomprehensible ( to me) calculating speed. I would also assume young children could be excellent computer programmers, and some probably are ( I taught myself programming when I was 13 or so, with nary an adult to assist, by reading books and trying stuff...but I am a very weak chess player in spite of probably having played over 1000 games.)
