As a momma to a child with a dairy allergy, THANK YOU! For sharing this!!
Interesting I think you are using the soy milk setting . Usually for nuts you just push the grind button 3 to 5 times to get raw nut milk but I’m sure that works too !
no need to use the milk ( heat ) button on the sojabella for nutmilk , just use the mill button, for richer milk, hit that button a couple of times and pronto :)
great video, I enjoyed your emphasis on healthy, environmentally friendly, and cost effectiveness plant-based milk. All good reasons to make your own milk! and it tastes great too!
I'm dairy free and was thinking if I should buy this machine and found your video while doing my research. I tried making nut milk myself a few times but it was so messy with the strainer and the shelf life was only about two days before it went bad. Thank you for making this video, it has helped me to see how much time and money this machine saves, definitely worth the initial investment. I subscribed to your channel too, your video was lovely with the background sound of children and a normal home kitchen. The video was a bit shaky but that's easy to fix with a good tripod for your camera/phone. Well done!
That’s amazing!! I’m dairy free too, I had no idea you could make it at home so easily. Thank you!!
I love your green mason jar.
Thank you for your videos. I always see something I could use!!
Doesn’t the heat kill the nutrients? I’ve seen people just mill the nuts a few times…no heat.
Great video, thanks
That is the coolest machine!! I knew from your IG acct that you always made nut milk and that you used this machine, but I loved seeing a video on it!!! I'm such a visual person and now I totally get how you do it. Love it!! Thank you do much!!!
Nice machine. Vitamix does a great job too.
Great tutorial Jessica!
Hi Jessica, Does this machine make ricemilk or oatmilk too, or only nuts and beans? I noticed there was a different model that mentions that, but does not have a tofu press with it. I'm so grateful I found your channel, have been binge watching for a couple of weeks, and learned só much. Blessings from Sweden!
This is great! Thank you! We are dairy free as well. Where do you get your cashews from? They are expensive here in Maryland. Also, what is the measurement of cashews you use to make that one batch? Thanks much!!

@@threerivershomestead thank you!
Nut milk is expensive, especially cashew milk. If an appliance pays for itself quickly then its worth having. I like making my own almond butter. I buy roasted and salted ones in bulk on sale, then just grind them in my food processor, so much less expensive than store bought :) tfs 🐤🌵🌱🌴💐🌷🌻🌞🏜️💗🐣💐🌷🌹🌸🐤🌵🌱🌴💐🌷🌻🌞🏜️💗🐣💐🌷🌹🌸
We work on being dairy free for as many things as possible.... but I use my vitamix and it does a super job with just one canister. Our problem is it’s so fresh it doesn’t keep real long and just under a quart gets wasted 😔
Thanks for the informative video. Who is the band playing the good music?
thank you for sharing, just wondering how does your family get calcium? do you take a supplement or eat other foods?
We do take a whole bone calcium supplement. Usually added to smoothies and in conjunction with cod liver oil. Not regularly, but just of we haven't been eating a lot of calcium rich foods.
Thank you for this! I wondered how long you could keep it fresh in the fridge and also if it really worked. If you wanted a less thicker version, would you need more water or less nuts?
so like a percolator ?
I can't have nuts or dairy milk........will this machine work for making rice milk
Yes!
Yes you press milk button
I thought all nut milk cant be cooked. My machine says use mill function for nut milks. Ive noticed youve cooked the Cashew milk. Have you made a mistake or can cashew milk be cooked in the soyabella?
I make cashew milk all the time , not sure why you need anything but a blender ? Soymilk on the other hand makes sense I guess.
I use the machine for all sorts of different types of milk, including rice milk
I find investing in a good blender a most versatile way to go. For soy insta pot and blentec makes for great results. @@threerivershomestead
Do you use raw or roasted cashews? I think either may be good but what do you recommend?
Thank you for this how to, why do you use the heat cycle for the cashew milk?
That's just what the machine does
How much water did you put in the Soyabella?
I am dairy free and I’m curious why not just make this in a high speed blender without heating it?
This was very informative, thanks for the video.
Hi! Thanks for the post. I used this for the first time this morning and botched it. I soaked the cashews through the night and then strained them. I used the Rice milk basket instead of the soybean milk basket. It came out somewhat thick. Could that be where I went wrong? Should I use the soybean?
Also, I used a cup of cashews and filled the kettle to the top 1.3L line
What milk do you transition your babies to when they are ready? Or do you supplement something else, I'm curious as two of my kids have milk sensitivities and I've been curious about transitioning to nut milk from breastmilk when its time for my youngest.
We don't really supplement. I breastfeed for about 18 months or so. After that they just eat solids.
How do you make your nut butters?
Food processor
Jessica you are extremely beautiful - I noticed you had a jar with soaking cloths that you took from used and put aside for washing - could you share that process - what do the clean cloths soak in ❤️ Mere
What kind of cleaner is in your jar? Do you make it yourself?
Yes. It's just a mix of vinegar and essential oils
What kind of cloth? I’d love to do the same in my house because I use bleach wipes so often that it’s probably not healthy
@@Wolf_Momma14 I use old prefold diapers
Just found your vlog, and loved watching your video on the introduction of your pantry. While you talked about what's in your pantry, you were putting away various nuts. You mentioned, you make your own milk. I recently have been diagnosed as being allergic to milk. Really only use milk when cooking, or in my coffee. I havn't found a good thick milk substitute, something good tasting for my coffee. I was wondering if you had any suggestions of a thick, good tasting homeade milk I could make. I'm going to check out you milk making machine, and I'm considering on making my own since the store stuff is expensive, and doesn't taste as good as home.ade stuff.
My favorite is cashew milk
@@threerivershomestead Thank you! I just this same machine, and I'm excited to try the cashew😊
Could you freeze it? For us that can't consume it fast enough? Maybe put it in ice cube trays, then freezer bags or breast milk bags?
i make my own milk with almond butter or macadamia nut butter add water and blend in your blender. i got the soybella for Xmas and will be trying it out soon.
imvegan i don buy cashews because they are very intensive to ;farm' if i make a milk which is rare i use british organic oats and my nutribullet cheaper and better across the board imho
Have seen videos that you can blend cashews without straining with milk bag. What would be the purpose of using a machine. 😊
This was so interesting. I am not dairy free, but do lobe these choices. Thanks for your information
I have been wanting to make oat milk and almond milk but have been scared to do so... this might just be my answer
It's so easy with a machine!
Does the heating of it all bring down or wiped away the nutrients prior to consumption?
Thanks, this was so neat.
how much water did you fill it to? 1.3 or .8?
Cashew milk is mde easily & perfectly in a good blender - water & cashews. BUT, the Soybella is great for raw nut milk using hard nuts. And fabulous soymilk.
do you have to soak the cashews if you are using a blender? Also, what's the nuts to water ratio for a blender?
Hello, thank you for sharing this video. I've been trying to compare the soyabella vs almond cow machines. The soyabella is half the price !!!
Can you share where you buy your raw nuts for milk ?
Thank you 😊
We buy from Azure Standard
@@threerivershomestead thank you 👍
Love my soyabella
Do you watch Rain Country. She makes all kinds of nut milks.
Thank you again for your wonderful experience and sharing with us here I love you and all your happy & kind family with all respect for whole family . I love your all video every time I am watching . all very good .
GOD blessing you all in peace , safe , health , happy , strong , be positive as always .
Thanks for sharing it. I wasn't sure which brand to buy and needed to see this before purchasing one. God Bless you and your family~
I want to make quinoa milk and have no clue as to how to do.
Very interesting to see the whole process of making your own dairy free milk.
Thank you for the video. 🙂
If Gabe is also allergic to nuts, why can he drink cashew or almond milk?
He is allergic to peanuts, not tree nuts
so if you were to make home made mac and cheese and use what kind of milk and can you get milk free cheese ?? or is this some thing your kids never had ??🧀🥛
We have bought vegan cheeses before and vegan boxes of Mac and cheese, but my kids didn't like it. I make a "cheese" sauce with cashew milk, butternut squash, nutritional yeast, onion, and a few other ingredients. It's good, but definitely not like traditional Mac and cheese
@@threerivershomestead home made is best the boxes are mostly chemicals but do in a crunch lol i used to make it then put a can of diced seasoned tomatoes on top then bacon makes its flavour so much more enjoyable
DID YOU COOK THOSE CASHEWS. I HAVE THE SOYABELLA AND TO MAKE ALMOND MILK. THE BOOK SAYS USE MILL ABOUT 5 TIMES. BUT THERES NO INFO ON CASHEW MILK?
I use the milk button
@@threerivershomestead ok but are you suppost too as i have seen many videos demonstrating the soyabella saying not to cook the raw nuts and the milk function is only for soya milk. Can you confirm whats best
It's whatever you prefer. You can use the mill function if you want. It doesn't hurt anything you do it either way.
@@threerivershomestead is it easier to digest nut milks when cooked using the milk function?
@@threerivershomestead ive noticed when i eat raw nuts i get gas bloating from them as i have ibs syndrom
Did you use the mill or the milk button ??
I used to use the milk button, but have since changed to the mill
@@threerivershomestead thank you. Great video
