OMG, you are the first person to breakdown the fees with ACTUAL dollar amounts! I literally just got commissioned this week and this is EXTREMELY helpful!!!! There's not enough words to express how grateful I am! Thank you, sis!
Hey Dyamond. I used to use princessdiamyn for my username a while back so when I saw yours I had to say Hey girl hey. Us Diamonds(even if spelled different) gotta stick together.😉
Thank you for this calculator. It is something that I can use to help my clients understand the fees because I often get told that the Notary fee for my state is only $5 dollars per stamp. I had to do a POA in a hospital after hours which took over an hour. We as notaries need to charge more for POA and Wills due to the complexity. I also use an embosser because it looks so nice and professional. So I had no problem charging more for my services in these instances.
Indiana- This was very helpful! I’ve been commissioned since March 2022. I haven’t had any GNW just yet & that is by choice. Wanted to be sure my education & business affairs were in order first. I’ve been playing with pricing for weeks now lol & I’m glad I came across this. My price factors are 1. Round Trip Milage per Fed rate 2. Round Trip Drive Time (which factors into a $30hr salary) 3. $10/signature 4. $5 operational fee. ****Now I have thought about adding the 30.3% self employment tax (state & fed combined). Which im honestly going to do lol. But didn’t want to nickel & dime. & honestly, my calculations come out close to yours!! I was worried I would be over charging. But I think for the most part, we’re good. Thank you again, Queen!
Michigan - This is just the response I was praying for. Welcome to the community and great work on your pricing. State law is our guide. Keep being creative and know that you are worth it! Also the fees for Notarial acts are not subject to self employment tax per irs.gov/instructions/i1040sse You may need to educate your tax preparer. I did.

This is very helpful. I'm a new mobile notary and in the process of launching my website. You've actually answered a question that I have for a mentor. Thanks!
This is awesome! I'm brand spanking new to even the idea of being a notary. I just finished my commission training, and I'm in the process of building the actual business. Part of this is learning how to charge a customer. I've been scouring the internet for examples, or guidelines, and the most anyone will say is: It depends on the state, It depends on the individual, There's a difference between Notary Fees and Travel Fees, Make sure you don't mix the two, This is where your real money can be made - which may be all true, and I get that. But no one will share guidelines on how to setup a fee-table, or fee calculations. The only other example I could find was a "retired" website with an 8-point-schedule (A- is location, if you live here, your rage is X, if you live here, your rate is Y... B- is time, if you're giving this much notice your rate is Q, if you're scheduling for this time your rate is R... C-...) but your calculator makes so much sense. I had to watch this, like, 20 times, to get everything, because I'm still really new. But, thank you so much for this video.

Thank you so much for posting this. You are on point with the calculations, we as notaries are being underpaid whenever we accept a refinance signing through a signing service. I notice that they usually only pay anywhere betweeen $60 to $80 for a refinance, where it really should be at least $150 for the signing. I guess that's why it helps to go direct, and cut out the middle man, in order to increase your earnings on a signing. Great video! 💜

Hello. It is my pleasure to share. You can specify the number of notarial acts which will increase the total fee. If you make a mistake and type over any formulas, restore the sheet to a previous version to bring the formulas back. I don't recommend using the tool during an appointment.
