@@yissibiiyte shorts are a term they use for underwear in countries other then America, which is why Lewis is really embarrassed about his ‘shorts.’ It’s because it’s his underwear. Hope that clears that out :)
There is SO much Alex slander in the Stardew community. He was my very first husband and every save I tell myself I'll marry someone new, but I always end up with Alex again. Sure, he's a bit rude when you first meet him, but his backstory and character progression more than make up for that.

I once made a save just to go through group 10-heart events, so I saw all 10-heart events from all of the bachelors and was a huge moron in every of it. Than I got to Alex's 10 heart cutscene, my favorite boy in the game, clicked second option rejecting him AND THE GUY STARTED TREMBELING OMG. I was crushed together with him thinking «no-no-no, I'm so sorry», that was the worst thing I ever did in this game. Except divorcing Sebastian and kicking him back in his basement lol.
I just divorced Seb and I'm so guilty now 😭 bud did'nt even had a backup or warning, he went straight back at the basement which is SAD AF

My first ever Stardew file I married Alex. He comes off misogynistic at first, asking if you have a bikini if you're a girl. But his event at the beach(the music box, not the gridball) had me tearing up. As you get to know him, he opens up more. Boy's a big softie.
And his dialogue at the feast of the winter star is adorable.
Honestly, two husbands with the same name is its own stereotype, and I'm here for it.

Alex is definitely a character I didn’t give enough credit to in the beginning. I do wish his 14-heart cutscene was more about him finding a new career passion, but it is still sweet that he helps create a nice space for male bonding in the town. ❤
Possibly my favorite marriage dialogue of his is when he says that he finally has the family life that he always wanted 🥺❤️

About the pictures on Alex's wall. I've had some talks with a few psychology friends of mine, about the difference between desirable and empathetic. A person could theoretically enjoy art of someone of their own gender, as they desire to be that person, instead of being with that person.

I married Alex 3 times now and never once have I talked to George the day after the wedding. I did it this last play through I did and George says “I just can’t wrap my head around two men getting married…it’s unnatural.” But Evelyn thinks that farmer and Alex are perfect for eachother 😭😭

Ok, so, my current runthrough of Stardew Valley I was on the fence when selecting the gender, kept toggling back and forth between male and female then decided "its fine, I'll just fix it when I made a decision." I ended up making a male farmer, but forgot to select the gender of the male farmer, so I spent some time as the female farmer before I could befriend the wizard enough to unlock the Gender Affirming Basement. I have to tell you buddy, it is a round way TRIP interacting with Alex early game as a female farmer than later as a male farmer, especially when the first heart event after the switch was the one where he apologizes for his behavior towards you.
I’ve done a lot of combing through events and conditions because I like making them for mods and seeing where they break so I can make a patch or create an alternate version, but that’s the most whiplash you can probably get. Especially early on.
Alex is so cute omg 😭 his storyline is so lovely and he experiences coming out in such a healthy way I love it.

i love Alex. i have never married him in game but i always max his hearts out. a few of his later cutscenes are heartbreaking. he's a good kid. ❤ i generally marry Haley who, it turns out, is a helpful sweetheart that will do anything for her spouse. love Haley, too. Honestly, I personally never viewed him as the typical bully from every high school ever. As much as how arrogant he is, he never displays any physical aggression towards the player be it male or female. In fact, his arrogant disposition is merely a facade for his sensitive side, with his sporty side being a way for him to avoid criticism, past experiences and even self-criticism. As I got from the quote, "Grandma told me I should do more studying, maybe she was right." And as well as Being rude to the player in the past. In which he even acknowledges his shortcomings. It even comes full circle about his past, with his dad being a verbally abusive deadbeat and his mom being a victim of abuse and even potentially hinted in the letter addressed to Evelyn that she committed suicide upon his father's departure.
The fact that in marriage, he willingly gives up his dream just to be a househusband to spend time with you and eventually the children (if you decide to at least) you would have with him. He presents this in a quote "I finally have the family life I couldn't have when I was a kid. Thank you." Showing that he is genuinely at his happiest and that he is inherited his mother's nurturing.
His character arc made me attached to him, and this started from his four heart scene. I always viewed him as this himbo sporty jock friend that was dense and arrogant but is supportive of people's interest albeit he does lack a bit of an open mind to certain things such as Sebastian's choice of clothing. But overall, I love Alex.
And imma be honest, seeing you abuse him with eggs and eventually a divorce kinda made me messed up-
