I think Ghunter could be a normal npc even if he only had one scene or maybe none at all, dialogues can tell us more than cutscenes, Jodi is a great example of that...

You know, the way Cecily describes Gunther kinda reminds me of the player. Once we reach the max hearts, and we've seen all the dialogue. . . That's it. We're not really inclined to talk to them again. Because we already know everything, and they don't have anything else to give. Gunther might not be like that, but the player probably is. Because while people aren't static, at the end of their journey, the characters are.
I still talk to the NPCs, especially my spouse and in-laws. I'm actually still upset that CA took out the ability to talk to our spouse when they're in bed at night. It makes it difficult for me to get Sam's nighttime dialogue, and on some days impossible. And one of his lines sounded particularly flirty if you got it when he was already in bed. Even for regular townsfolk I still talk to them. Otherwise the town feels dead to me.
While some of your words have truth, I've been married to shane for 3 years now and I still talk to him when I get the chance. I know I don't *have* to and I've seen pretty much all of his dialogue, but I guess I just feel like it's nice having someone in the farm, he's keeping me more company than he'll ever realize
@@t00tt00t - I also talk to my spouse every day in SDV, but whatever about the other townspeople? How many of them do you talk to once the hearts are at max? I think that's more in line with the OP's point.
I still talk to my spouse every single day but it’s mostly because their lines can be really adorable. But yeah… once you’ve gotten high enough it kinda feels irrelevant.
I genuinely don't understand why Gunther was never an NPC we could talk to and get to know like all the rest. Everyone else that have their own businesses (Pierre, Clint, Willy, Krobus, Dwarf, Harvey, Robin, Gus) are all fully functioning NPCs that we can gain hearts with and get to know. Why isn't Gunther the same way? It sucks that we need a mod for it to happen. On the same note, Morris should've also been like the other NPC's with his own heart events and unique dialogue. If we go the Joja route, we should be able to befriend Morris. Even if we don't go the community center route, we should still be able to befriend Morris.
I agree, same for Marlon and Gil in the Adventurer's Guild, the Desert and Island Traders, Birdy, Professor Snail, Mr. Qi, and the Witch who we never even get to meet. I'm grateful for mods, excited for Haunted Chocolatier and I understand that CA is kind of burned out from Stardew Valley after dedicating so many years of his life to working on it, but I also wish that the game continued to be expanded so that everyone can benefit on any platform. I have 21 years on my Switch farm and I'm at a point where I would like to play with mods but don't really like playing on PC or abandoning the farm I've worked so hard on to start a new one =*/

XD Sorry that Cecily doesn't move in after you marry him. I honestly have no idea how (or if you even can) get a second NPC to move in after marriage, so she stays at the museum. I think she does have some you-married-my-dad dialogue buried in there somewhere, but it may be at higher heart levels. He *does* have a bedroom, but I may have messed it up in the last update. I know I broke half his festival appearances. Also, I think you missed the 10 heart event. There should be a date/confession scene. Unless I broke that too, which, honestly, is completely possible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I haven't given Gunther as much love as he deserves, since I developed him at the same time as Marlon and then got distracted by Marlon and Gil. Anyway, thanks for the shout out, thanks for playing, and I love your channel!

Sometimes missing things like event scan happen its what comes with playing through it all live on twitch lol I cannot wait to play through the Marlon and Gil one! You have made an amazing job with it. I've never played SV, but I've seen a lot of gameplays, so when end up playing it myself, it would be definitely heavily modded. Your mod is now on my list. I always wanted the option to romance, or at the very least, to befriend him. It always felt a lil weird how almost all other npc's have their routines and aren't just props, but Gunther is an exception. Maybe it's because we can never learn anything about him, but I just always was way more curious about him than most of the other characters XD. Thanks to you, I can do that now. I'll look up Marlon and Gil's mod, they also deserve to be at least befriend-able. Imo, all of the npc's should have something going on and some relation with the player :D.

I love the absolute joy on Nino's face when he exclaims, "I'm gonna be a mom!" Like, I've never seen him this happy to have kids in Stardew haha. Tho tbf, I would love for Cecily to have come live with you in this mod, but I understand why she would be hesitant.
I don't know if there are any mods at all that go to the effort to make it feasible for another NPC to move in, if it's even possible. The East Scarp mod makes a single dad not marriable (sadly) due to this issue, since his daughter would not be able to move in with the farmer.

Ngl I really enjoyed this mod. The nuance to the character and the development with Gunther and his daughter was really enjoyable; especially as someone who's dad was never around hardly or cared for me much, i'm happy he was trying really hard.
Gunther is now the best NPC, his and Celiciles relationship at the start is kinda like mine and my own father and it makes me happy to see that at least their relationship ened off happily

this mod is really good, and if you want more, the same creator also made one for marlon (the adventurer's guild guy who gives you a sword). i never finished playing through it (got bored with the game at the time) but iirc it was the same quality of writing and emotional depth as this. also "can you imagine being 16 and your dad wakes up at five am to drag you to dig in some dirt" clearly your dad was never into fishing lmao

I’d argue that he’s not unfairly hated since he’s got a *lot* of incel nice guy tendencies but if there was a kid that removed those I’d be all for a mod like that
Imo, I'd prefer to have mod that makes Clint be even more on the edge honestly. Like, maybe he slowly progresses into being more creepy and weird, just to spice SV up a bit and bring more serious topics into the game. I wish the game had things like that. Improved Clint would probably be a cool mod too, though. I just think he has a lot of potential to spice things up for this sweet, lovely game XD.
I normally critique heart scenes when they are more about character backstory than developing a connection with the farmer, but man, this mod hits deep! Nino just wanted the sexy man to emerge from behind the counter, and what he discovered shocked us all to the core! Thank you for another incredible experience, Nino! Never mind the emotional baggage in several corners of my mental space. 😂

I’m only 10 mins in and the writing in this mod is incredible. I’ve never seen a stardew mod with writing this good before, it’s so interesting and I adore how they expanded on Gunther. He feels so fleshed out but like himself, absolutely amazing job to the modder.
I’m literally saving up to get a better desk top computer so I can download this game on there and get mods. I love playin on switch and I’ll probs keep playing my normal save file until completion and THEN start goin wild with mods

(idk how else to explain it, you would literally just pay to poke around in a big hole in the ground that was known to have a few gems in it, and you could keep whatever you found) at one point so on my days with him he’d drag me over to one of the sites in the wee hours of the morning and we’d spend the rest of the day digging in dirt and rarely finding anything lol

I have three daughters, my oldest eats WAY more than her older son. In fact, they all eat more than that boy. Golly. I have cousins that are about 16 or so, and they do act like her. Great writing in this whole mod!

Try "The Last Smoluanu" mod. This mod lets you live with dwarf and learn about his life, befriend him with krobus and a lot of other stuff. Really heartwarming mod
Ik you can’t marry “shopkeeper” type townsfolk because if they’re at your house you won’t be able to access that particular building, but it’d be so nice to romance them. Not only that, but it’d be so nice if all married bachelors would still go out and do their own things, but return to the farm at the end of the day. Or maybe they’ll stay in the house because they’re sick, and you can make breakfast in bed for them, or be outside playing with the cat/dog.
Yes! Let the bachelors have their own lives after marriage! Having them go around with their daily routines, and then maybe some events from time to time, like you said, them being sick for an instance, or maybe a possibility of them joining you with your activities on rare occasions :0. Building up a romance with them, heart scenes and just the work you put into the characters to make them your spouse is a nice journey, but it just ends up feeling VERY anti-climactic once they move in with you. Suddenly, they become a second Gunther, just making for an addition to the background that you can occasionally talk to. I just wish there was something to make that marriage worth it at the end of the day and make the game a little different, as if there actually was another person you need to care about.
To be fair, when you live with krobus he's replaced with a literal treasure chest and it works just fine haha, it's not like there's not precedent in the base game.

@@milyveronica1173 I was talking about the claim that Shane is Seb's father. I'm fully aware that Gunther is a proper character. I play with SVE. Never once has any implication of that claim come up in the multiple times I've befriended everyone in that mod.

Ik you can’t marry “shopkeeper” type townsfolk because if they’re at your house you won’t be able to access that particular building, but it’d be so nice to romance them. Not only that, but it’d be so nice if all married bachelors would still go out and do their own things, but return to the farm at the end of the day. Or maybe they’ll stay in the house because they’re sick, and you can make breakfast in bed for them, or be outside playing with the cat/dog.
Yes! Let the bachelors have their own lives after marriage! Having them go around with their daily routines, and then maybe some events from time to time, like you said, them being sick for an instance, or maybe a possibility of them joining you with your activities on rare occasions :0. Building up a romance with them, heart scenes and just the work you put into the characters to make them your spouse is a nice journey, but it just ends up feeling VERY anti-climactic once they move in with you. Suddenly, they become a second Gunther, just making for an addition to the background that you can occasionally talk to. I just wish there was something to make that marriage worth it at the end of the day and make the game a little different, as if there actually was another person you need to care about.
To be fair, when you live with krobus he's replaced with a literal treasure chest and it works just fine haha, it's not like there's not precedent in the base game.
