Good father figures? Yeah. Linus is a great mentor who'll teach anyone who'll listen how to appreciate the simpler things in life and not get bogged down in senseless material excess. A lot fo people fall into homelessness through bad luck, but someone his age who actively chooses that life has got some wisdom to share. Gus is the figure of gegariousness and generosity itself, always there to make sure people are enjoying themselves, and he doesn't judge anyone and doesn't seem to obsess over business stuff like insecure ol' Pierre. Kent may have his personal problems, but he deals with them with grace, genuinely cares for his family and is just glad to be back with them at last. Dialogue with Sam will tell you that he's a hard worker and a good dad who tries hard. Willy may come off as a little one-note, but he knows what he likes, does what he likes and has a lot of wisdom to pass on to the younger generation. The base game doesn't have a lot to say about Marlon, but in SVE there is a lot to admire in him. He embodies service, polite empathy, and doesn't fall for glory-seeking stuff. Just calm, collected protectiveness and he values the skills and talents of others. No wonder he likes Marnie.
