I feel like Blonde is an important album for a lot of people to listen to, not because frank fans (me hehe) scream how its the best thing ever, but more so because... there's something in this album we all can relate to. I feel like the tracklisting reminds me of DAMN. in how mirrored it is and how both Frank and Kendrick touch on really deep feelings most artists either dont talk about or dont dig as deep. I feel like if Blonde could have another title, it would be Bittersweet. Its the saddest sweetest piece of art I've ever listened to. the thing with this album is it grows on you so hard like a parisyte. when I first listened to it I didn't enjoy it so much but now its my favorite album of all time. i even spent tons of money on the vinyl.
While I really loved the album on my first listen you’re right it definitely grows on you. Songs I wasn’t super in love with at first like Nikes have become one of my favorites off the album. Truly a masterpiece and I wish more of Frank’s work was easier to own on vinyl. This is the easiest of his albums to find 😭
It’s all the small details that keeps me locked into ur content. The fact every cut in the video keeps the rhythm of the song going, the very faint green light that flashes to the music on the left side of the screen, the voiceover with connections, or facts, or theories you found or thought of post first listen. There’s really no one out doing this shit like you are 👏👏👏
this album has gotten me through the darkest times of my life since it’s release. today was an especially hard day for me - thank you such a beautiful video ❤️
I describe this record almost like it’s a series of dreams or Frank going through different emotions and we’re experiencing how these emotions play out in his head. It sort of helps explain why the record feels so schizophrenic and unpredictable.

There’s only been a few albums where after listening I was slightly upset with myself for not listening to it sooner despite knowing it existed. Summer 2018 at around 1 AM was the first time I randomly listened to this album. I was immediately struck by its honest and uncovering of the lies about an troglodytic way of living. Which is the story of 'Blonde', and the life of everyone who relates to it. I think that’s the most beautiful aspect of this album; it captures the thoughts and feelings of an entire generation and this is something I’ve only come to realize recently. (Btw I’m glad I was right about this video dropping but also kinda wish I could be surprised lol)
Listening to this brought me all the way back to 2016 when I was really really going thru it - the happiest of times and the lowest of times. And this album is so intertwined with them. Thanks so much pathie for providing your genuine first reaction to this and letting me somewhat relive the moment when this album came out fresh and absolutely blindsided me. ❤
