    It is more realistic and practicable.

    I will be 61 years next birthday and started calisthenics about 6 months ago. I have a little experience in human movement from work in physical education teaching, but that was 3 careers ago. I found your sequence excellent and recently had started linking a few of them together from my own knowledge, particularly around the frog stand. I look forward to seeing and trying more of your suggested movements.Peter

    This is actually more focused on building strength from A to Z compare to other videos just telling you to stretch your shoulders, wrists and use the wall. I mean, yes conditioning the wrists and opening up shoulders are also must to do, but realistically this video is more relevant to many of those people who actually need some fundamental strength first of all. Good one bro, I am working on this too! 💪🏾

Still a long way to a handstand, but I'm sooo happy, I'm dreaming of being able to do this since I'm a small child and I never though I'd be able to do it one day :D Thank you so so so much for this awesome video!

    My dear friend and mestre... THANK YOU so much for the wonderful videos. I am almost 50 years old and I have had injuries from my years as one of the first breakdancers in the 80's, to wrestling injuries in college, to an automobile accident in 2003 and a dislocated shoulder while doing macaco in spring this year. As a warrior, I refused to give up to the pain, and the ancient spirits of hip hop told me to find the origin. The source. That is how I found Capoeira in 2016. I found a wonderful maestra, but could not afford the school, honestly. Then I found you. My life has changed now and the pain has been replaced by flexibility and strength. I lost 35 pounds and your Capoeira flow is like the movement of air or water. When I ginga, or Au or practice my esquivas and kicks, I aim to flow seamlessly like you teach us to do. I am very grateful, and humbled by your own humility - and I encourage you to keep up the good work, as you inspire so many wonderful people. Muito Obrigado. Respect always and God shine his grace upon you. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Oshe... oshe o baba. Chuma

    great progression exercises! will add a few of them to my training routine. but just a quick warning for anyone trying to do handstands: the handstands shown in the video are in slightly incorrect form. probably because of lack of shoulder mobility (that was my initial problem, and why i spent a few months on that before progressing), he is curving his back too much and doing a "banana handstand". in a proper handstand your back is straight, and you can draw a line from you heels, trough your legs, back, shoulder, arms and wrists, completely straight.
    still a nice video and some great exercises, though. keep up the good job.

      but the fact is you dont need to have the strenght to bend your elbows while you are in the Handstand. Of course the more strenght the better but you can still master the handstand earlier. Nonetheless very nice excercises.

    You can obviously sense, control and act. That is why i recommend you what my gymnastics teacher said: keep your back straight through a hollow uppet body in your handstand, such that in a handstand against the wall only your hip would touch. Its good for your vertebrae, apparently.
    Thanks for your channel, its awesome!

  • @nate508
    @nate508 7 років тому +3

    I do agree with what you have but I think you need a few more things. Both wall handstand variations are good to teach your body the position and build strength. Shoulder taps on the wall help with balance. Wall handstand push ups are good for strength building

    • @OfficialRAWTRICKS
      @OfficialRAWTRICKS  7 років тому +2

      +Baristi thanks Baristi for the constructive comment, personally i found the wall training the less beneficial for learning handstand cuz as soon as your legs are supported you lose connection with essential muscles that you need for the process, as a strength building you could also achieve it through shoulder press, pike push up, hindu push ups, as an example if you see a large number of Crossfit athletes they always seem to struggle with handstands, even tho is part of their regular workout, they actually do tons of handstand push ups against the wall and they never seem to master it, however very individual is different so trying different approaches can be beneficial at some point.
      Appreciate it

    • @nate508
      @nate508 7 років тому

      Good point, however I think with the wall, if you are constantly kicking off of the wall and just using it to help stay up, it is effective

    I have made a 15 weeks plan based on this. I'm doing every day (mostly at the morning) the training where I'm doing one exercise. After I achieved 7 successful exercises I'm doing all previos exercise on the same day again and progress then to the next step. Each step has an aim which adapts to my skills. The aim should be in possible range, but also not too hard to achieve. I'm doing for example 15 push ups in the first exercise and hold the push up hold for 45 sec. At the moment I'm at step 5, the frog stand. So far I can say: You really notice how you build up strengh! Since you have to reapeat each step again before you move on to the next one I noticed that my 15 push ups, which where very hard to do in the beginning are now pretty easy. Here is my plan so far:
    1. Push Ups x15
    2. Hindu Push Ups for and back x10
    3. 90° Push Up Hold 45 sec
    4. 90°PUH with leg up 10sec, then change leg, total of 40sec
    5. Frog stand 1min (not achieved so far :D)
    Also I did sometimes a break of 1-2 day for several reasons so the plan moves of course by these days, never skip exercises!
    So far this makes really fun and I'm very excited on how it's going in a few weeks when I'm.doing the tucked stand with kick ups 😆

    First video I see of you. The exercises are nice, but the text disappears too fast for me when it's a larger amount. Had to hit pause a few times while keeping the text longer wouldn't make the video longer. It's there long enough to read, but not when you divide your attention between reading and looking at the exercise.

      +Maupé the idea is to pause and read, and repeat if necesary, i try to keep the videos artistic as well as educative thanks for the feedback

      Ah, if that's the intention then the short display duration of the text serves its purpose :)

      +nuttayot santaweesuk absolutely the more you teach your body the more range of movement you will gain, besides capoeira works both sides of the body equally 👏💪

      Maybe you can only hold a few seconds because of your body strenght. Unless you just fall over, then it is because of your balance. Try to master the first step, then the second, then the thrird... and so on. Not every step a bit.

    Subscribed. I used to do capoeira as a kid, but grew out of it... Now I had a surgery on my hand because of a tumour, and I'm waiting for it to heal so I can start doing calisthenics properly... I was doing 5 minutes of frog stand, not knowing how to progress, and this video really helped. Can't wait to recover and try all of these. Thanks 😄
