There is always a lot of oil coming out of the caliper, even if it's higher than the lever. Tge bleed is good afterwards, but it's always a mess Also you have to be gentle when pushing and pulling, the membrane in the lever is easy to kill.
Ciao! Ho appena acquistato I Formula Cura 2.
@@marzocchidj3 Absolutely it is very unlikely that no air will enter the system when severing a line. Bleed it just in case, it doesn't take that long.
@@redukonio mine was at the lever. I thought it was my bleed kit cause it's not the official one. But when I was unscrewing it I must have lost half of what was in the reservoir lol
Just cannot get mine cura4:s bleeded on then they are just not powerfull. Been trying everything but the lever stays bouncy and the allmost non existing bitepoint far away. At the moment galfer pads and galfer 223 rotors and i wish my brakes were at least on same level as shimano MT-520
Aren't you supposed to get rid of the old breaking liquid and replace it with the new one, instead of mixing the two together? There are some tutorials that do exactly this.
There are differences in the procedure between this video and the Cura 4 manual. Wich one is best to follow? Is the lever position relevant for the bleeding procedure?
You should not need to adjust reach in bleed, the reach does not effect how far you can press the piston in master cylinder, and there is only reach adjustment. If the thad these adjustments, like bitepoint, you would need to reset it. Her eyou just do the bleed. That's me just using brake knowledge. But I am don't know what you refer to with the procedure differences.
Why do we need to have oil all around to get the job done? Shimano has so nice vent nipples on their brakes, so you don’t have any oil outside the system (system is same like cars have).

Does anyone know the viscosity of Formula mineral brake oil please? Shimano is about 8 Centistokes & CHF mineral oil is about 18 Centistokes. Shimano is thinner. Is is thinner than Formula's?
In answer to my own question above, Formula oil is 9.66 centistokes. I wouldn't use CHF mineral oil as it is quite a bit thicker than formula but shimano oil is slightly thinner & is fine to use.
I heave Cura 4 brakes and I like the lever to be close to the handlebar - when bleeding the brake, does the lever position play any role? kind of thought if I put the lever to the max out position, that is will have more slack on the opposite side, and be closer to the bar, then if put in mid position or closer to the bar. any truth in that?
It should not effect this brake as it does not have bitepoint adjustment or a servoeave, or similar mechaniss, where you can adjust bitepoint. On cura bitepoint stays the same, you can leave the levers alone the power will remain the same no matter reach, piston is pressed as far no matter the reach. But a Shimano Deore for example that's not the case.

My rear brake kever is hard to press and stiff and not returning back at the original position.what could be the problem?
Hey, thanks for the tutorial. Is it normal having oil getting out from the master cylinder while putting off the top suringe on cura4 brakes ?
Yes, a little bit of oil coming out while removing the syringe is normal.
Hello Formula!
If I need to shorten the hoses do I need to bleed them? Will there be any air introduced to the system?
@@marzocchidj3 Absolutely it is very unlikely that no air will enter the system when severing a line. Bleed it just in case, it doesn't take that long.

@Formula same here. When you unscrew at the caliper, a lot of oil is pressed out. why is that the case?
