I’ve been watching your channel for quite some time. Just wanted to chime in and say that I absolutely love the Kimber R7 Mako. It’s been my EDC for quite some time now. Keep up the good work! God bless.
I own 5 different 9mm pistols. One is the Kimber Mako r7. I don't know much about the Sig p365 other than it's one of the most popular models out there. That said, the Mako is the best compact 9 I've ever shot. I believe their price is comparable, so you'd do well with either.
I shot both the Kimber R7 Mako and Sig P365 back to back today, and the R7 Mako feels better in the hand, better sights, and shoots like a tac driver. The trigger on the R7 Mako is better too. The R7 Mako may be a tad larger, but still conceals easily on your person. I think Kimber knocked it out of the park on this one!
The Kimber R7 Mako is very identical to the Walther PPS M2 - check out the profile of the two guns in Handgunhero. The R7 Mako is basically a double stacked PPS M2.
I know I made fun of the looks of the Kimber R7 Maaco in the past but when I got one in my hands and got to shoot it finally, it was not only actually very aesthetically appealing to me, I thought it was a really nice smooth shooter for its size. I haven't shot a Sig p365 yet but I am used to shooting my Springfield Hellcat OSP, and my boss's Kimber R7 mako was quite a bit smoother and the trigger was amazing on it. If I wanted to carry something that was a bit bigger than my hellcat, I wouldn't hesitate to pick the Kimber R7 Mako as long as I knew it was going to be as reliable as we find the Sig p365 and Hellcat to be for most people. 🙂
I can't believe all the Kimber haters. I've owned several Kimbers over the years, and nothing but success with every one, with one exception, the Micro 9(Crap!). I've had my Maco for about 8 months now, with zero issues ,and it by far the best carry gun I've ever had. I still love my 1911's though.
From the bottom of the trigger guard to the front/bottom of the grip there's definitely more room for your fingers on the P365. The way the Kimber magazine/grip is longer in the back is just weird. It makes it the same exact length as the P365, but it also reduces the grip length for your fingers. Also, the Kimber has a larger area for the parts between the trigger guard and the slide, so the trigger guard is lower and leaves less room for your hand. I still think it's a good handgun though. I think the reason I like it more though is just because it's different. I prefer unusual handguns. I can't say I'd pick it over the P365 though, but that's just because I don't know how it functions.
I thought the Kimber 1911's were supposed to be good, popular guns, including the Kimber Micro 380 and Micro 9. I'm really surprised a gun company would have trouble selling them. I thought the Kimber K6 revolvers were popular too. I want to get one for myself. I especially want a Mako R7 though. I really want to take one apart though, so I can see how it works. I've looked for assembly/disassembly videos for them, but just never found any.
On another unrelated topic I picked up my G26! I LOVE it! I was comparing it to all my carry guns and this, this is it! Should've bit the bullet sooner! Glock 33 gen 4 next! Thx for the advise @SPN!
My 1911 kimber is from 2023 I just bought not to long ago...I've had no problems out of it yet... it's actually pretty nice compared to any other striker fired I've had
Kimber is tougher to carry but shoots better. It also has a better surface finish as well as grip texture than the p365, and any other out there (in its class) to be honest. The trigger has a super crisp break which takes a minute to get used to and you need to be cognizant of it. The Mako R7 reminds me of a updated G26. I also got mine with like 4-5 mags, a crimson trace, night sights and a bag for $500. Funny thing, I usually leave the house with either my GX4 carry or standard GX4. People can roast me if they want but they are molded to my hand.
The modularity of the p365 puts it above everything else by miles for EDC. The mako is nice, but I'd still go P365. And you can get them fairly cheap nowadays.
That kimber is insanely ugly…. I can’t stop looking at it. I have a 365 and 350 x5 legion in the works… after holding them I just wanted the buggers… I have to admit back in the day seeing those compact 1911 limbers were beautiful but I’ve always heard horror stories and never touched a kimber

The Kimber Mako R7 has been my EDC for about a year. Really like how it shoots and feels in my hand. Great gun and video.

Spn can you please check out that new Kimber r7 carbon compact. I trust your opinion more than any guntuber bro 💯
The Kimber is better in almost every way but people will always choose Sig bc of their personal bias against Kimber.
P365 modularity is the game changer you can make the gun exactly how you want it

Get the updated flat trigger for the sig 365 super crispy
I think the Kimber is closer to the G26 than to an Sig 365. Kimber is fat and heavy!!!
Yep
EZ my friend, I'm a little fat and heavy too
The Kimber Mako has the nicest trigger I've ever pressed. Not the lightest, but most tactile and crisp.
I would take the sig only because of the aftermarket

I dont hate them , i hate the fact they are made in the soviet socialist state of new york and that makes them hypocritical
Have you shot the new Springfield Mod 3? 325.00 is gonna be tempting for some...
I really wanted to buy the Kimber Mako but I won’t because of the no aftermarket support. P365 has all the aftermarket so I’m gonna go with the Sig

I like the look of the mako. Purchased when dirt cheap earlier this year.

Glock used to have the best marketing team when they first came out. It’s part of the reason they got so popular
Have tried both!stuck with the sig!
I thought I read the side ejection port was to make sure no gases dirty your optic? Have you noticed that’s the case?

Off topic question but what defense ammo do you run in your converted 357sig shied? I’m having FTF problems with mine
So what’s your favorite handgun this size?
The mako is really accurate for me i really like it not many holster options though
Love my 365

What happened to reliability being number one? Fair enough! Respect
I don't own a Kimber, but seems like half the people say they are high quality, the other half says they are jamomatic.
More kimber videos
27 out of 77 pistols I have i said to myself don’t buy it but I did
Is there anyway I can put a brighter light on my G26 I know it doesn’t have a rail but any suggestions?
I'm going to start calling them Kimbos now. TY
Never was the fan of the aesthetics of Kimber-made products.
my kimber 1911 has never failed me idk why they get such a bad rep
I’ll keep my FN Reflex
P365 xmacro is the best right now.

Yes
In what way? I’m open for conversation!
P365 is king
Wow ❤
Limber is asking 399$ for the R7 and asking 800 for the new R7 carbon fiber screw number .. Asking double for the same gun
that's absolutely insane

Sig is overrated! Last video I watched there was rust on a two month old gun. 🙄
