Something I always loved hearing about: The reason why many animals like laying on humans. It's our heartbeat. Our hearts beat a lot slower than most other animals and this has a calming on many of them. There's also the general warmth which many others do like too. Just seeing a falcon lying on top of you and around the chest just reminded me of that.
Hello I just came across this video , I have to say it made my day how beauthful, I love animals more than people these days. Am a vets widow by myself have a farm and lots of cridders, even bald Eagles here. Blessings to yall from Texas. 💯✌️💖💖💥💘💥💘
What a darling. To see that prairie falcon, a bird of prey, sitting on your chest comfortably even while you move your hands about is simply amazing to see. Good luck Martin with. Piper . Looking forward to the update
I flew an Anatum Peregrine when I was 14yrs old in 1966. It had been shot by a duck hunter and I inherited the bird with a wing injury. It healed and we hunted together for 3 years when it developed stiffness and soreness in the wing. I was given a Tiercel Prairie Falcon like you have there in return for putting my Peregrine into a breeding program in Oregon. Greatest years of my life!
What a precious little guy! And you are really looking good and fit too, Martin. It's wonderful to watch you work with Piper 2. The cuddling on his first day was so heartwarming ... how very special 😊❤
He really seems to love you Martin! I am so glad you two met each other he really seems to be much much to sweet to be in the wild. I've only seen doves that where that cuddly. He is truly truly beautiful. Even his eyes look so kind.
I rescued a pigeon from a falcon about 10 years ago. Brought her home and thought if she lasted the night she would be alright. She survived and she was banded and I got in touch with her owner. She was I think 4 months old and was a long way from home where I found her. But come to find out her daddy was a National Homing Pigeon Champion. I learned a lot from this owner and he gave me a book by Michael Landon who was big into homing pigeons.
hi lady .a question you rescued from a falcon? meaning you took it from a falcon while it was about to eat it?. let me tell you a bit of something. you are not supposed to take birds a wild falcon just hunted. another thing you might not know is. those pigeon fancies many of them as....olds pardon my French, like to decimate the raptor population around their areas where they fly their falcon food. so dont do nature any favors plz if that is the case.
Glad you got a new Piper. God is looking out for you Martin...he is talking care of you. I think your experiment will work... the bond will be stronger. What a pretty falcon!
Dear Martin God bless you all there What an extraordinary precious little friend Thank you for All your tremendous dedication and knowledge and Love Take care my dear friend
Awww such een pretty, friendly, cuddlebug. It looks as if you have a cuddely parrot on your chest. I hope you have more luck with this new young falcon. Lovely boy.🫶🇳🇱
He has the cutest face and those piercing eyes. It's wild, but I never saw a falcon be that cuddling! I wonder if someone saved it and helped it grow up?
Hi Piper , what a beatiful bird you have there, Martin. My fav bird always has been the Peregrine Hawk , bc I grew up watching them in my hometown when I was a kid , since then it has been my favourite bird , I listened about the Prairie Hawk but never saw one , at least that I remember and I'm glad you posted this video bc now I know how they look and I'm really impressed by their beauty, Piper seems to be a sweetheart and I wish him the best and a long relationship to both of you . Thanks for sharing those beautiful images with us .
With a wild bird of prey acting so sedated, initially I was fearful of pesticides or some chemical effect. Beautiful bird and thank you for helping spread awareness. 🫶👍✌️
He’s adorable! He looked perfectly content laying on your chest like that!😂 I’ve been watching your videos for years and can’t remember ever seeing any of the other ones so as calm and content as this one. I knew that you no longer had the first Piper but I never knew what happened, that’s so sad. Is that normal behavior for the females to kill the males? Have you thought of trying to breed some again? Thanks for showing us your new falcon!😊
This is such a amazing skill set. I love to see old world skills and crafts kept alive. The knowledge and dedication is incredible. I can’t imagine how satisfying it feels
Well done, Martin. The Lord has Blessed you with a heart for animals & a talent to connect with them at a deep level. That little falcon feeling very comfortable resting on your tummy after knowing you briefly is a testament of your profound skills.
That new addition is adorable, and I can't believe how quickly he became completely comfortable with you, he doesn't even flinch the least bit with your hand movements or voice, my favorite thing in the whole world is seeing and experiencing animals mutual trust with humans, thank you for sharing this with us. 😄
I'm watching this vid with my pet chicken in my lap. She's watching, too. I watch quite a few vids with birds and could tell by the picture that this was special one. Having bird pets is special and I believe if there is an anomaly in nature that allows a person & a bird to be 'close', than so be it. Good Luck and enjoy your special time with your beautiful falcon.
Wonderful update ! Always look foreward to a new video !! 👍👍. These birds of prey are SO interesting ..& so many personality differences depending on their age. I learn something new each video !! ❤️
Ive never seen or heard of a falcon being this friendly with people. The fact that hes sitting on your chest and being chill is facinateing. I wonder whats going on in his little head... Either way, its a incredible sight.
