This performance is pure rawness. It is not a performance to evaluate a song. It is a performance to appreciate the danger of this great band. There was nothing like it at the time. You will like this performance after you listen to the original MTV music video. It was the video that put the band on the map. MTV did not want to play the video, but MTV eventually caved and they played it once late at night. After the airing of the video MTV's phones were ringing nonstop of people requesting the video to be played again. The rest is history and GNR became the biggest band in the world.
That´s the good thing about opinios (and music), everyone has one, and I think that´s what makes this videos cool. I love GNR since, FOREVER, and I always will!
This band saved real rock in the late 80's. Guess you had to be there.

"I don't know 🤔" was also my exact reaction when I first heard this song and it took me years, decades almost to like it, the studio versión. Many live versions are questionable.

I get what u r saying. Thats what happened to me with Rock n Roll All Night by KISS. I was not a fan of the original Studio version but i love the live version on there Live album Alive. It just sounds harder and heavier and a guitar solo was added in that the original did not have and that just made the song better to me. And i love Guns n Roses to they are my number one favorite band

A lot of people believe that "Nirvana" was the end of the 1980's hair band music garbage. I say - You're close. Gun's and Roses was the bridge. Think about it. A band that was basically a motorcycle club jamming in the 1980's glam big hair scene.

I'm happy to see that you are an honest reactor. That makes me want to come back to your channel. Btw, my favorite from GNR is also "November Rain" and "Sweet Child O'Mine" is also way up there. You should really react to the official video to "Paradise City" that shows footage from two live shows, including Castle Donniington in the UK.
Btw, "Welcome to the Jungle" was GNR's first big hit, so it has big historic meaning in the story of the band. I do like it myself, especially the intro and the lyrics. The arrangment is not my fvorite, though.
I totally agree about her being an honest reactor and she is Absolutely Beautiful And Stunning ! Actually when I found her the first time I stopped and said to myself...I'm going there to see and listen because her looks is enough to catch anyone's eye's and the rest of her really compliments her whole personality so much . Its a few guys with an attitude, combining their musical talents to make music that filled up stadiums. Not much of that nowadays.
GnR could be amazing live but sometimes really bad. Do yourself a favour and listen to the entire studio album. Not a bad song on Appetite for Destruction. This is why I think 99% of reactions should be to original versions. Loved you being so candid! That is refreshing.

*Rebeka* I understand your take on this...... I have *SO MUCH TO SAY* on this cause THIS was the time AND place where my band made music...! Obviously, Axl's voice was shot, not anywhere near other performances, and I get your feelings on it, I do..... I ALWAYS loved this song cause it was ALL ABOUT L.A. at that time, raw, and this band was one who committed to "Whatever it took" to break thru.! So many fake and embarrassing "hair bands" at the time and you KNEW... you just KNEW.... these guys were the real deal.! I remember hearing Keith Richards say they were the shit, etc etc But I totally get it.... this song in particular is not everyone's cup of tea...... FYI...... you look "healthy" and beautiful today.! Also..... waiting to hear when *YOU* are gonna put out another video..... OK... I'M outta here..... stay blessed killer.... David ......

I know you’ve said you prefer Zeppelins slower songs so I would suggest Bron-Y-Aur Stomp live from Earls Court in 1975. It’s not a ballad but it is acoustic and Plant’s voice sounds great! Also it’s the only classic rock song that I know of that’s a “love song” to a dog! Lol. I think you’d really like it.

Raw and hard live rock was rarer in the Later 80's/early 90's and beyond, tho still around of course. the New Wave music scene was becoming very prevalent after reg.. Listeners discovered Blonde, and and you saw and heard as much of that new wave. as rock's Ozzies. Sadly you can only experience through video, what us dusty old 60's & 70's concert rockers did live! I think you would have loved it; from your appreciation, and self-emergance into the true rock the times had to offer.

I would watch the MTV video music awards performance of Jungle. But yeah they have a million other great songs. And I'll say I have watched your heavens door video like a million times. I was just 15 when that came out, and I learned everything he said haha. Now I have 16 GNR concerts under my belt and feel I can say I know the band.
I wasen't a big g&r fan, cause I grew up in the 70's where there was a glut of great rock bands, so after zep , floyd, skynard etc..g&r was kinda a let down.....BUT I do like g&r, motley crew, black crows etc. because at least they rocked in the 80's....and that was hard to find between madonna and prince music that was going on in the 80's.....not to hate on madonna (I like 1 or 2 tunes from her first album) or prince (I can tap my toe to lil red corvette or 1999) but compared to the quality of the 70's (rush, stones, ac/dc, bad co, who, yes, sabbath, purple, van roth, the dead, eagles,etc)
the 80's was pretty thirsty for rock...

It's an awesome tune...the band live was always very raw and kind of sloppy....but hell, I'm amazed that the guys at this time were even able to just stand let alone play the instruments! Do you watch live videos because the official videos get blocked?

When I hear this song I hate to say it BUT it reminds me of My Junior High . My uncle went to the same junior high School in about 1970 or 71 ,but when he went there it a 6feet high fence around the school
with barbed wire over the top. I entered the school in 1982-83 the fence had been taken down.
I knew my uncle carried ac switchblade knife with him when he went there and still had it.
I offered him $100 for it but he said "How about I'll just give it to you ". Man was I glad Especially on orientation day when The principal said IF someone steals your shoes or coat or any other things and tries to et you to buy them back come to me and I'll get them back and IF you get Raped come to us we will help you deal with the Trauma ,YES there were girls at this school. I thought Man This is like Prison or Juvenile Hall. The school taught me to Fight some and stand up for myself I got a few times and Pulled my Switchblade when verbal threatened a few times . We had an 8Th grade Prom after 4 or 5 years without the school not having one because last time a girl was raped during the Prom. Sorry to say a girl was raped at My Prom too. That Is a True Story and I wish it was a Lie . I guess everyone has seen and done things they hadn't it bothers you and You wish you hadn't seen or done some worse that what i just told you. .

also, yeah songs can’t be accurately rated (if that makes sense) by only hearing them live, at least in my opinion. i can’t really hear HEAR a song when it’s a live performance and not the studio version, unless that live performance sounds 99% like the original. and if it’s a song i’ve never ever heard before, then it’s absolutely impossible. so yeah, please listen to the original, you might change your mind and if you don’t it’s fine, we all like different stuff

You have live versions on all your videos. Try studio versions. Most songs studio versions are perfected, and are usually better. Try - Wheels of Confusion by Black Sabbath.
