I really like your detailed review of Himalayan 450. I am a 5'4" guy and I sat on it, I didn't find any issues... Though I didn't get a chance to ride it. @@JustAnAtheist yes I did... But being an interceptor rider for the last 4 years it shouldn't be a big deal. The best part is the tank and saddle is very narrow at the beginning and the seat is angled towards the back.

I agree, it is one of the best videos of this new motorcycle --- dear, I would like to ask you about the sensation of the accelerator since I have heard from some test riders that it has a small delay Could you tell us about it? ... Thank you very much and happy day
The acceleration for the power and torque is sufficient. It is possible that your friends were riding in eco mode where the response is blunted on purpose. Hope this helps. Love from India
Looking good Euston, the last one was like doing a shuttle re-entry with a Nigerian fighter pilot on acid , or at least a series 2 Land Rover. Sadly for the presenter this is not for battling the street heat of Jaipur but a more European focused bike.
That's right. The heat will be a lot better managed in Western countries, but it'll sell in huge numbers in India as well. So temperature management can be a bit of an issue in warmer, more crowded areas

Just in last two days on my adv I have spent approximately 1700rs due to punctures in rear wheel. Even in the city I found it hard to get a mechanic to have it fixed. Disadvantage for my 390 ADV is you have to carry it to KTM service center and then take the wheel to other repair shop. Excellent work Amit. I really like the bulk and tank range on this one while the Triumph Scrambler's lineage and styling. Need to justify upgrade from my three year old CB350 which I have no reason to hate at all.
@@motoroids I think a comparison between adv390, 400x and this one will be due in sometime. One thing the Honda has going for it is smoothness and reliability. I've done MP, Arunachal and Ladakh on it ... and it's just soooo fuss free, nonchalant. Also 500+km tank range. Never understood why Honda never considered the CRF300rally for India, even when it sells two other 300cc bikes.
Waiting for the roaster with a much slimmer and lower profile with a 180 - 190 mm ground clearance, lower, straighter and more narrower handle bar, sharper rake angle, 17 inch rims both front and rear, 160/60 R17 rear and 120/70 R17 front tyre with alloys and an overall lighter bike in the 175 - 180 kg fully fuelled would be my optimal naked bike. A slight increase in horse power to 45 hp and torque to 43 nm with the same compression ratio of 11.5 : 1 not any more would also be preferred.
That road bike is on the way, in the Hunter format I guess. Not sure whether I'll have all the specs you suggested but it'll definitely be more road biased
The heat is less than on the earlier 390. The problem, really is when you ride it continuously in stop start traffic. It's fine the moment it gets a move on
Excellent review, boss. How do you figure out when different batches commence? As in, how can I get to know when the 2nd production batch starts rolling out?

Great video thank you. I like the bike except for that white colored one. Love the black one. Hopping they will start selling them hear on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Can you fit GVI racks on it for the GVI Trekker 33/64 liter hard bags. I use my bikes for shopping so need the carrying capacity. The Honda CB500 side bags were OK but the weight of the top box empty was max for the rear rack, had to get a lighter top box, not good. I am thinking between the Himalayan 450 and the KLR 650 low, Liking the Himalayan 450 but worried about carrying capacity. The KLR draw back is fuel efficiency. KLR has a large tank but not very good miles per gallon.
Great review, i am slightly obsessed by this bike and really want one. It's selling for €7K Euro here in Ireland, so i'll have to do more than a few shoulder rubs for the wife before i can approach her....
I think i read somewhere that they are working on a 750 cc parallel twin. But like you mentioned, how much of a difference that would be after 650cc parallel twin? A 900cc of a 800cc 270 degree twin will just raise the bar to heavens. Let's hope we get good things in future b
Just amazing how you managed to add so many new points. This felt like a breath of fresh air after watching dozens of reviews that felt just the same. Also commendable that you did not slam the motorcycle or the brand despite not having invited you for the launch event. I know very "senior journalists" who do just that. Anyway. You keep doing the good work, the fruits will continue to follow 👍🏼
Thank you so much for this great review, easily understandable (your english is excellent) and clear information! Above all (and this is of course purely personal taste) it is a very Sexy motorcycle!! In my book, just looking at this machine would make me proud to own it! Greetings from Holland
I see few journalists mention small vibes, which is fine but I havent seen them mention the vibes of the 390 ADV. It is horrible in comparison o this. I have ridden the 390 and test rode this Himmy and the 390 is much worse in terms of engine vibes and very hard suspension. Yes some might say the hard suspension of the 390 rewards when riding hard but where will one ride that hard and safely to enjoy he suspension? I am a guy who only loves black colour and thus all my vehicles (cars and bikes) have all been black and I really like the Hanle Black but it doesnt look as good in person than in pictures. In fact the Kaza Brown which is supposedly the base version looks much better in person than in pictures. It has a rich creamy colour with a matt finish. Decisions to be made. I will only book once the tubeless spoke rims are available.
Overall, purely for city use, the Scrambler looks better. But overall performance including highways and off road, the Himalayan comes across as a stronger bike
Thanks for a great video ... brief glimpses of the landscape in India really makes it an enticing country to visit. The new liquid cooled Royal Enfield looks the business! Best wishes from the south west coast of the island of Australia.
It has only one issue wh is unresolved after going through most of the reviews that is it lags on the uphills and there is several stoppage reported wh is prime concern.
Will this be good for our CHENNAI city bumper-to-bumper traffic what is the least mileage we can expect for such conditions......considering the suspension comfort feature this could be a good buy compared to triumph scram provided we don't face any issues with maneuvering in city traffic ........I have already booked Triumph Scram and this I need your expertise on selecting among these two....
Nice review... How is it's handling and maneuverabilty during riding and standstill conditions as well? Trying to compare with Dominar in this aspect which I use and find difficult.
It is very agile. Dominar is slightly more unweildy than this, Himalayan is more easily manageable. But do remember, that this is also a tall and heavy bike, so if you're not reasonably well built than it can be a bit of an issue
Hi, it's a full review with all u need 2 know for daily use, congratulations you did spectacular, I got one question I own the dominar 400 but i would like 2 buy one hyma it's 2 much the difference on the way they accelerate?
Thanks for the review. I really wanted to know if you thought the finish on the bike is good if not the best. I own a SM650 so I felt the quality and the finish is not as good. Thoughts?
Ok, good to know. The next you r with the bike, plz take a close look at the join that holds the tank protector to the frame above the engine. The finish on the T and the welds on the exhaust. I found some rough edges in these parts but it could be just me and 80-90% of the buyers wouldn’t notice/bother. Thx
I hope this bike leads the way to people buying smaller capacity bikes. Here in England it's getting to the point where bikes have bigger engines than most cars! By the way, riding there looks fun, but if you visit England don't ride like that. They'll lock you up and throw away the key!
What about head light? Visibility and throw.. especially low beam in dark pitch (city)because it was mounted in a higher location.. are they enough for Highway rides at night?
What’s with the left mirror? It seems to be at a weird angle, why is that? Is the stalk loose? A few people have complained about the mirrors not staying properly. Thank you for the review.
I saw one media drive video where the bike was stalling on high altitudes. And the rider tested 3 bikes and issue was present. Thank you for the detailed review.
I didn't ride it enough in the eco mode to know the difference. Also, the fuel happened only once, so difficult to say. But there definitely would be savings, 5-10 percent even with a conservative estimate
I'm not sure I agree with you on the low-end torque comparison with the Scrambler 400X. I rode that bike last week and loved the tractability of the engine. It pulls clean from as low as 35 kmph in 5th gear. Rode the Himalayan today and it threw tantrum picking any speed from 45 kmph in 5th. I have a 2016 BS3 Himalayan from the first lot and yet I came back disappointed after riding the 450. It is a big improvement over the old one in most areas but low end torque is not one of them.
Seriously, you can't have it all. Some reduction in low end torque is to be expected. But it will still have more than enough (and more than most e.g. KTM390) and the improvements everywhere else make it worthwhile. A small adjustment in riding style and there is no problem. I think sometimes people just look for things to complain about. if you can't live without that bit of extra torque right down the bottom end, then keep the old bike. But you then miss out on all the other improvements.
I was playing the experience of riding the 400 x constantly in my mind while riding this one. Felt better to me. I pulled 45 kays in 6th, 40 in 5th, 35 in 4th and 25 in 3rd. But more importantly, it's clutch, power delivery and torque felt a lot more suitable for off roading than the 400x . Elsewhere I have clearly mentioned that purely as a city bike, the 400X is slightly better

Glad you liked it!
Much appreciated first ride review Amit! Kudos
Thanks a ton
Excellent work Amit. I really like the bulk and tank range on this one while the Triumph Scrambler's lineage and styling.
Need to justify upgrade from my three year old CB350 which I have no reason to hate at all.
It's a better bike. More powerful, more versatile and more capable in every way
@@motoroids I think a comparison between adv390, 400x and this one will be due in sometime.
They should definitely come up with an affordable adv
The way you explained, is really appreciable..You cleared all the doubts i had in my mind regarding this machine...
Thank you..
You are most welcome
Can you compare the heat to the 650's or with the Ktm's that tend to heat a lot.
The heat is less than on the earlier 390. The problem, really is when you ride it continuously in stop start traffic. It's fine the moment it gets a move on
Excellent review, boss. How do you figure out when different batches commence? As in, how can I get to know when the 2nd production batch starts rolling out?
There's no real way to figure that. The company is constantly working on issues as they emerge.
everything is fine but never ever buy anything from royal Enfield newly launch 1st slot... They use customer as test mule for free .
In the city in goa u were in Porvorim, Panjim, Atal setu bridge n some places..
Love from goa❤
Love to Goans. You guys are the best ❤️
its really good in all way but its RE. they really know how to F up things like they did with the hunter and the 650 segments, and also with the new him *INTRODUCTORY PRICE*. like seriously ??? the himalayan needs an introduction now ??? the current pricing is perfect untill went being an introductory BS
It's a good price. Hope it doesn't go up by much
@@motoroids max to max i think people go up by 10k but like triumph went. But with RE 4 or 5 k is enough when the actual or maybe 6k, not more than that. Time will tell. Im also waiting for the 2nd batch like you. 😁
When Roadster 450 is coming?
Expecting in the next 6 months or so
Can i know from which showroom you have got the test drive vehicle in Goa?
It was a.media bike
Great review. Looks like you had some issues with the left mirror!!
Thanks 👍
Nice review ,is it good for daily city commute..
It is, as long as there's not too much stop star traffic in hot conditions
Please bring head on comparison video!
Scrambler 400x vs Himalayan 452!
Yes sir 🫡
Great review, i am slightly obsessed by this bike and really want one. It's selling for €7K Euro here in Ireland, so i'll have to do more than a few shoulder rubs for the wife before i can approach her....
AWESOME. . . . .
Just imagine "Himalayan with 900 cc high compression engine. . . .😍
That would be cool!
I think i read somewhere that they are working on a 750 cc parallel twin.
But like you mentioned, how much of a difference that would be after 650cc parallel twin?
A 900cc of a 800cc 270 degree twin will just raise the bar to heavens.
Let's hope we get good things in future b
How many days should I wait for getting the second batch of the Himalayan 450?
a lot
if u like the bike get the bike
it has a 3 year warrenty no isssue if it fails they will change
About 6 months
2:23 its not from engine its from the fan
Yes, true
Just amazing how you managed to add so many new points. This felt like a breath of fresh air after watching dozens of reviews that felt just the same. Also commendable that you did not slam the motorcycle or the brand despite not having invited you for the launch event. I know very "senior journalists" who do just that.
Anyway. You keep doing the good work, the fruits will continue to follow 👍🏼
Thanks 🙏
What about owner servicing of the bike? Are the valves like the old Himalayan or are they bucket and shims?
this is expensive to maintain and delicate chassis bike. The more engine heat even with water cooled engine = low engine life
Heat is mindful thing to think...I sold my new 411 tn 59 cm 2233 in a month bcoz of heat
Sorry to hear that
Thank you so much for this great review, easily understandable (your english is excellent) and clear information!
Above all (and this is of course purely personal taste) it is a very Sexy motorcycle!! In my book, just looking at this machine would make me proud to own it! Greetings from Holland
Thanks
Sea level is good for me, Question, Is the Low end torque better in Triumph 400X in comparison to Himalayan 452?
No, it's better in the Himalayan
You're right about the vibes. But the new Adventure is also coming with a new engine. Thanks for your keen observations and thoughts
@@motoroids any estimated date when the new adventure will be coming out? I have heard rumours of it being introduced in 2025.
It should come earlier than that
How is the low and mid torque as compared to harley x440?....which is better for city use?
Overall, purely for city use, the Scrambler looks better. But overall performance including highways and off road, the Himalayan comes across as a stronger bike
14:54 who thought u riding? Such a worst move ever seen 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Thanks for a great video ... brief glimpses of the landscape in India really makes it an enticing country to visit. The new liquid cooled Royal Enfield looks the business! Best wishes from the south west coast of the island of Australia.
Thanks mate. Love from India
It has only one issue wh is unresolved after going through most of the reviews that is it lags on the uphills and there is several stoppage reported wh is prime concern.
It doesn't stall on uphills, at least it didn't with me.
Should i go for this bike? Or engine wise SM 650 would make more sense if i want just a bike for comfortable touring with luggage?
This
Excellent rounded review
Thank you 🙏
Will this be good for our CHENNAI city bumper-to-bumper traffic what is the least mileage we can expect for such conditions......considering the suspension comfort feature this could be a good buy compared to triumph scram provided we don't face any issues with maneuvering in city traffic ........I have already booked Triumph Scram and this I need your expertise on selecting among these two....
Personally I'd prefer the Himalayan. Chennai traffic can heat this thing up though. Scram has better heat management
@@motoroids heat I can wear respective protection other than that anything goes against this
Nice review...
@@motoroids thanks bro , I am 6 ft 75kg, so hopefully will find easier than Dominar
Hi, it's a full review with all u need 2 know for daily use, congratulations you did spectacular, I got one question I own the dominar 400 but i would like 2 buy one hyma it's 2 much the difference on the way they accelerate?
This one feels stronger in the mid range, and smoother too
@@motoroids thanks bro, I'll wait 4 it then. hope your channel keep growing up
Bro who overtake from left essentially in a bend . So sad 🤯
Thank you for the review.
I’m really excited and want to book it asap.
All the Best 👍
Thanks for the review. I really wanted to know if you thought the finish on the bike is good if not the best. I own a SM650 so I felt the quality and the finish is not as good. Thoughts?
The finish is pretty good. No issues there
Ok, good to know. The next you r with the bike, plz take a close look at the join that holds the tank protector to the frame above the engine. The finish on the T and the welds on the exhaust. I found some rough edges in these parts but it could be just me and 80-90% of the buyers wouldn’t notice/bother. Thx
Sure. Cheers
Great review. What's your height? You make the bike look rather small
I am 5 10
Should I wait for owner reviews or go ahead and book the bike?
I'd suggest you wait
The review is excellent and from my side whether we can buy on first batch or we can wait
Thanks. I'd suggest wait
Hi, is the graphics on kamet white removable. The graphics seems like sticker and someone can remove or damage it I guess.
Not that easy.. it's well stuck
Himalayan vs KTM adv 390 x, Which one is smooth at 130-140kmph cruising speed?
Both are comparable in terms of vibes. But in any case, you should wait for the new Adventure with the new engine that has made its debut on the Duke
Considering how vibey the engine for KTM is I would say go for the Himalayan.
How is the learning curve on it? Especially for someone looking to get this as their first bike
It's tall and heavy. Not the ideal first bikw
Some riders have been complaing about throttle lag, how true is it ?
Not true. They must be riding in eco mode
@@motoroids Thank you !
200 kg for a 450 cc mono cilindric .... came on thats crazy
It's an RE, they are known for heavier bikes
your intro gave me seizures put up a seizure warning!
Hello sir what is top speed you clocked and ideal cruisng soeed
Top speed on speedo was 160. Ide cruising speed is 120, though it can sustain higher speeds with ease
I saw one media drive video where the bike was stalling on high altitudes. And the rider tested 3 bikes and issue was present. Thank you for the detailed review.
what about tyres?is it tube or tubeless?IF not tubeless, when tubeless tyre is coming?any news?
Tubeless tyres will be coming in a few months.
@@motoroids Thank you.
Thanks for making the effort to talk in English when many Indian reviewers of this bike don't 👍
What wrong with your left mirror?? It's a concern?
No, it just needed fixing
How much is the mileage in its different modes?
I didn't ride it enough in the eco mode to know the difference. Also, the fuel happened only once, so difficult to say. But there definitely would be savings, 5-10 percent even with a conservative estimate
Any fueling issues or bike turning off observed? Saw it in Yammie Noob's video
I am not sure whether someone has already told you this before, you looks like David Warner :)
I like him!
@@motoroids 😀
You looks like Warmer David
A real review. Well done sir.
Thanks 🙏
@@Ozsmallbore Well, I agree it will need a little tweaking in my riding style and a tad lowering of expectations.
You can have it all. You just pay double
@@bobjohnson1633 True
Awesome detailed analysis more than the showroom representatives😁of RE
Thanks a lot 😊
Bro make a comparison video with Ktm 390 adv
Will do with the new Adventure
Do we need to really wait for second batch or can we go with the version we have now ?
