“GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen samples Ruffles Jalapeno Ranch chips, which she loves because they resemble sour cream n’ onion chips (one of her favorite flavors.) She moves on to sample Whataburger’s Spicy Jalapeño Ranch, which she loves because it has a “kick at the end,” and St. Louis’s Twisted Ranch Garlic Smashed Buffalo, which she ALSO recommends adding to your pantry.
UPDATE ON KATHLEEN’S QUEEN’S COURT: Kathleen provides an update on the Queens, and this week extends the court to Christine McVie (friend and bandmate of Queen Stevie Nicks) who has followed suit with other 70’s rockers and recently announced that she has sold her song catalog rights to Hipgnosis Songs Fund. Kathleen is then thrilled to advise the Termites that Queen Dolly Parton has been named to Forbes’ 2021 list of America’s Self-Made Women, clocking in at $350 million. Dolly has also announced that she has teamed up with novelist James Patterson on her first novel called “Run Rose, Run” which will hit shelves in March 2022.
EL MENCHO SENDS NEWS ANCHOR INTO HIDING: As a follow up to EP31, Kathleen gives an update out of Mexico where a prominent news anchor, Azucena Uresti, has been forced into Witness Protection after El Mencho, the current leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel has accused her of biased coverage of the cartel.
ELIZABETH HOLMES’ PSYCH EVAL: In continuing with Kathleen’s obsession with Elizabeth Holmes’ upcoming trial, she reads an article advising that Holmes is using the position that her ex-boyfriend Sunny Balwani was the puppeteer of the Theranos scandal, which Kathleen provides her own opinion around
FLYING TAXI STOCK GOES PUBLIC: Kathleen is thrilled to read an announcement that flying taxi company Joby Aviation has gone public, billing itself as the “Uber of the Air” leading into the IPO. Based in Santa Cruz CA, Joby is has developed an electrically powered, low-noise flying taxi capable of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL). Kathleen plans to cash in some of her Dogecoin and move those funds to JOBY stock.
NEBRASKA FAMILY DOLLAR STRIKE: Kathleen laughs and applauds a group of Family Dollar store employees in Lincoln, NE as she reads a news release that the 2 remaining employees in that store walked off the job last week after leaving a farewell note on the front door of the store that read: "We all quit. Sorry for the inconvenience." Citing poor pay, management issues, and long hours, the employees walked off the job and forced a store closure that took days to reconcile.
STEVE WYNN’S 11 PICASSOS OFFERED FOR AUCTION: As the Termites know, Kathleen is an avid fan of art. She’s excited to read a release that MGM Resorts International has enlisted Sotheby’s to come to Las Vegas to auction off a cache of Pablo Picasso paintings amassed years earlier by casino magnate Steve Wynn. The 11 Picassos to be sold have long been displayed at a Picasso-themed restaurant at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, and Kathleen has always really appreciated Wynn’s intent to offer access to these works to the general public.
THE NRA’S TRAFFICKING SECRET: Kathleen is appalled sharing an article disclosing that in Fall 2013 an export company in Botswana prepared a shipment of animal parts for Wayne and Susan LaPierre, the head of the National Rifle Association and his wife. The list of trophies from their recent hunt included animal parts from a zebra, hyaena, a cape-buffalo, cheetah, and multiple elephants. Susan confirmed the shipment and wrote back with a request that import paperwork should have no clear links to the LaPierres or the NRA. Charges are pending, Termites so stay tuned….karma comes around.
POLITE APES: Kathleen laughs reading a recent study announcing that apes purposefully use signals to begin and end social interactions -- behaviors not typically seen outside of humans until now, according to the journal iScience. Researchers analyzed more than 1,200 interactions with groups of zoo apes and found that they commonly exchange gazes or swap gestures to share their intentions about social interactions, such as waving hello.
DISCOVERY OF THE TROJAN HORSE: Kathleen is thrilled to read an article advising that archaeologists in Turkey excavating the site of the historical city of Troy have unearthed a large wooden structure, and the measurements resemble those of the Trojan Horse. Kathleen then leads the Termites down a massive rabbit hole of whether the Trojan Horse existed.
FANTASY FOOTBALL: Kathleen closes out the Pubcast discussing the recent Fantasy Football Draft that her league completed, taking Tom Brady as her top pick for quarterback (which both Lewis Black and Ron White tease her for doing). - Комедії

Favorite time of the day… just grabbed myself an O’Douls (as of 86 days ago ;) ) and can’t wait to sit and giggle w/ mama termite!
As a kid in grade school, we took a class field trip to the Osa Johnson museum in Chanute, Kansas. They had a real taxidermy elephant foot as a donation bucket, from one of their safari hunts. And they showed us kids a real shrunken head, too, from their travels to Africa or Borneo. I still doesn't seem real, even though I know I experienced that first hand. It's been one of the touchstones in my life of how adults don't always know what's right, or do the right thing. That wasn't the education they intended, but that's what I got out of it.
Yeah, reminds me of when we had some missionaries at our church. There was a display of paintings from the countries they had traveled to in the front of the church, as a curious child I went to take a look only to see paintings of hell and others of people being decapitated 😱scared the shit out of me and I couldn't stop thinking what's going on? Why are they allowing this when children are about. My church had a lot of weird things going on, kinda put me off of organized religion to this day🤷♀️

Hi Kathleen!! 🙋♀️ My mother and I are coming to see you in Orlando and we are SO EXCITED!! We live together now and it ain't easy...lots of arguments...but our saving grace is YOU! We both love you and think you're hilarious! And personally, I need to thank you for keeping me sane. Like millions of people these days, I've been struggling with a ton of anxiety and depression lately, and it's very difficult for me to fall asleep at bedtime because I can't shut off my brain. I'm sorry to say that I only recently discovered your pubcasts, and at the risk of over aggrandizing, they have been nothing short of a God-send. I play them when I get in bed and listen until I fall asleep. I usually get through 2 full ones and then fall asleep during the 3rd, and I fall asleep happy! So thank you!! And if you plan on going out to a bar after your Orlando show and would like some totally cool locals to shoot the sh*t with, then look no more, and here's why....I'm 53, only 5'2", an Irish girl raised Catholic, my ancestors are from County Armagh (I've only been over there once to visit my family but hope to go again someday), my 2 favorite singers are Stevie Nicks and Pink, mom's favorite singer is John Denver (she's from WV and her ringtone is "Country Roads"), I lived in NC for 15 years (about half an hour from Kellie Pickler's hometown) and vinegar based barbecue is the ONLY kind I like, Taco Bell IS G-damn delicious, I got an inflatable kayak earlier this year and I love it, in the mid-to-late 80's Carrot Top (known then as just Scott) was an oyster shucker at our local bar and he would never remember me but I've got a few funny stories...(have I sold you yet?) Seriously though, I don't have a bucket list, just a short list of people who I'd love to have a beer with someday and you are one of those people. If not this time then maybe next time around. Thank you for sharing yourself with us during these pubcasts. This is one termite who is very grateful for you and for the humor and joy that you bring to our family 🙂

I know I'm late to the party but I just watched the Bud Light Ranch parody commercial and it made me laugh and think of you. Beer and Ranch dressing - where's Kathleen? lol.
When I was in college (in a college town) in the late 60s, my friends and I would hide the rock records we wanted to buy later in the Englebert Humperdinck section. They were always there when we returned with money.

They used to hire crews to come in and stock shelves and a full staff. Now there are only 3 employees: the manager, the cashier/stocker and the squeaky toy at the register who you squeeze to get help.

Just a thought but with music I think it’s different because of streaming. Records, CD, tapes, are all pretty much obsolete. Selling your catalog late in life will give you a pile of money to do something with-even give it away. I’d do it too.
There was a study done that found women give directions by landmarks and men give directions by length (miles) and north, south, etc. Anecdotally, I found this to be true when we moved to a new studio. You would listen to the women who would say something like go three lights, turn left at Starbucks, the guys would say go one mile and turn south. Guess which ones had to call again saying they were lost.
I know not all your fans are into sports, but fewer things make me happier than when I hear your NFL commentary. Pretty please create a five or ten minute weekly NFL-themed pubcast during the season. It doesn't even need to be informative, it's just fun to hear you shoot the sh.. on topics like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or your fantasy team. Since you do play to win, it would be fun to hear your fantasy football logic. You could call it Madigan's Last Call or After Hours or something like that. It wouldn't even need to be video, just an audio post that would act as bonus content to the Pubcast.

Phish is not a cover band but they do sometimes cover other artists songs. The Grateful Dead is one of many groups they have covered. Phish has a butt load of their own songs. ❤ Your description of the fans is 💯😁

I'm pretty sure Dollywood was originally a Silver Dollar amusement park when Dolly bought it. She personalized it and it is worth the trip if you are a Dolly fan, Mama Termite. I've been there twice years ago and would like to go again. A replica of the Parton house where Dolly grew up was very cool in and of itself. Thanks for the laughs. Thanks to Paddles too! :)

Phish is most definitely not a Grateful Dead cover band, but they are a jam band like the Dead. Two of the members of Phish used to live in the town I live in here in Vermont, and the lead guy, Trey, used to take his daughter to playgroup at our library where my wife took our daughter. I can't call myself a Phish fan, but I like a couple of their songs. They still have their recording studio here in our town.

There is a Roomba-type lawnmower! I saw one at Lowe's or Home Depot a year or two ago. It charges up at a base station and then just wanders around the lawn, keeping it short. It's like having a sheep; not as cute, but on the other hand it doesn't poop.
Check out Husqvarna. Your yard has to be fairly flat/level.
Had someone come out to check my MIL's yard and evaluate it to see if a robotic lawnmower would work. Not really

There's at least one old black & white movie or TV show in which you will see an umbrella stand made from an elephant's foot. Apparently that was a thing in the olden days. You can add insult to injury by killing a wild animal and then making something really tacky and distasteful out of it!

Ahh, don't generalize! My husband was the one who always drove everyone crazy with his directions involving trees and other vague markers, when I was wishing that he would just remember a few street names every once in a while. I would have settled for east, west, etc.

So, I'm way behind on this, but I have to put in my ranch opinion. If anyone knows Me N' Ed's Pizzeria in central California. Valley area. My town of Lemoore has one. Best ranch, man. They do regular, hot and BBQ
Also, they don't always have the best food, reputations or service, but great ranch. People go in JUST to buy ranch. If they sold it by the gallon, they'd buy it.

Big containers of Shampoo, anti-bacterial soaps, American brands too like Dermasil Labs Pharmaceutical Research Aloe Fresh 8 fluid OZ. Plus aloe is great if u get a sunburn...I like being outside...having a bud light at the pool. Vitamin D is awesome from the Sun. I like getting free DVD movies at the library. I got 12 the other day and they send me an email when they are due back, I can renew online or just call them. wow that is awesome.

The whole NRA couple hunting story shows how regressed people are who fixate on killing animals. But the 2 elephants being used for furniture, etcetera, is grotesquely old school. Weirdly enough, I remember the Marx Brothers doing a jungle film where they made Groucho out to be a big game hunter and he had an elephant foot as a stool or drummed the top of it in a song or something 🤔... but to actually do it nowadays is just horrible taste.
I remember reading about the flying Uber guy a few years ago and him estimating the rides costing a couple of hundred dollars a ride. That'll be stockbrokers and corporations who can afford to skip around NY traffic on a whim... & those who can will already have their own helicopters, pilots & landing pads. My question: why does he need to go public so soon unless he needs money to buy his own helicopter pads?? (Because his selling point is convenience... not being stuck at an airport). Sounds suspiciously like a Shark Tank episode 🤔!!
