Dude. You are a freakin EXCELLENT teacher. Respect. Lots of the Premiere Pro tutorials on UA-cam are helpful, but you actually EXPLAIN what things mean so people can develop a REAL understanding of how something works. You need to do this for a living man. You're great at it
Exactly what I needed, reduced a video size by almost a factor of 10 without losing any quality! Thanks for taking the time to make such a clear and informative video 🙂

Thanks for the tutorial and the explanation for the settings before exporting. Tutorials like these are rare and this made me learn something new...not just blindly clicking stuff without understanding why I had to do so.
Found about 5 videos on Google telling the exact same thing, CBR and 10 bitrate. Then found yours, VBR 2 pass and 2-5 bitrate... I was like "yeah right, it's going to look horrible" - exported it and it looks PERFECT! Thank you SO MUCH, earned my like for sure, from 824MB to 123MB! 👍
Thank you so much for this! I watched a few other videos but the instructions did not work for me and my large file size was not changing. With your instructions, my file has gone down in size and I could cry (from happiness). I also really appreciate your calm voice and measured approach. Thank you again!
You are the best at explaining this. The other youtubers seem to think we know what controls to use. You do the step by step and I understood this, whereas others had me frustrated. Thank you so much.
Very helpful, thank you for this guide! I'm making a 30-minute video for work and this helped me cut the file size down from ~1.5 GB -> ~527 MB. You're a lifesaver ♥

Thank you so much for this. I'd never had to adjust these settings in the past for some reason, but all of a sudden, I had a video that was 3.5 GB in size instead of being something like 10 times less. This worked!
Thank you sir for making this video. This video really help me compressed 1 hour 30 minte video(7.3 GB) to 988 mb. I also love how you explain in the video. Not only showing the size of the video, but also showing the result of the compressed video. Thank you so much
Thank you!! This worked amazingly, a 5-ish gb podcast down to 700-ish mb. And your explanation made more sense than any other video I've watched on the topic. Thanks!
Great tutorial. I need to upload video files to Google Drive for my school and being able to shrink the size but maintain quality is a tremendous asset. Thanks for our work.
Excellent video. One thing that I would like to have YOU explain is how to set up and arrange my workspace. Again, thank you for the video on Compression. It is clear and explained in a way that a non-media can understand. Great work. Keep 'em coming ! S.
I have watched multiple tutorials of premier pro but yours is simply the most Straight to the point video. Add a catchy phrase and hope your community growth will be exponential.
Extremely Thankful 🙌 I have heard that if you go below 5 in the target bitrate setting, it will not be pretty. But I didn't notice a lot of difference. Going at 2 and max at 5 was the key for me to get my desired file size. Thank you so much!
Your videos are probably my favorite for this product line. The best balance of clarity and brevity. Excellent distillations of knowledge. Extremely helpful.
Thank you SO VERY MUCH! I have struggled with this forever (not being a videographer, but rather a photographer). Thanks, too, for the explanation along each step you suggested! Excellent tutorial!
I can't explain it, but I subscribed to your channel simply because your narration is clear and calming. I edit videos too, but that seems to be a secondary reason I subscribed.
Absolutely wonderful video. Very nice presentation, helpful explanations, VERY SMALL FILE SIZE but good quality video. Thank you so much, more people need to see this!
Hi @Sarah, Glad you liked the video! It is definitely a good technique, but the quality of the file is lower. It may be noticeable on a big screen in some cases. You will have to try.
My favorite Premiere Pro Instructor, thanks for all the tutorials very well explained. I have a question, actually two. 1.- I have seen a lot of videos 8hrs, 10hrs, 12hrs; how do they export them. Same settings than this tutorial? 2.- Can you recommend a large external hard drive to save and keep all my videos? Thank You So Much.
Great tutorial, subscribed! How is it that your screen recording of premiere is so crisp even when zoomed in? And do you have a tutorial on the highlighting effect you made on the cursor?
Thanks for the comment, Patt! I do my screen capture on a high resolution monitor, which allows me to zoom in and preserve detail. And my highlight effect is a Mac app called Mousepose.

VBR 2-5 turned out really low quality for me... followed all the other steps as well.
Couldn`t be any easier to understand. I just reduced a 20 min. 12GB file down to 1.7GB looks totally fine. Thanks Guru.
Thanks a lot! Worked really well!
one of the best tutorial videos I ever seen - love the pace and the use of the spotlight in the demo.

Same settings than this tutorial? 2.- Can you recommend a large external hard drive to save and keep all my videos? Thank You So Much.
Thanks for the compliment! 1) They probably use similar settings to keep video small. 2) I recommend a RAID drive, but they are expensive.
