A HARD Job Made EASY! Stacking Lumber

  • I recently purchased a John Deere 5055e tractor and "practicing" operating it by moving around some logs and using it to stack lumber. The uses for the tractor are endless. I've already done more in a day with it than I could do in a week without it. I'm greatly looking forward to using it for my projects. It not only makes things easier and faster, it is fun..it will also make certain projects possible that would borderline be impossible. My lumber is yellow pine, 1x6, rough sawn and green...sawn the day I bought it. I plan on buying a lot more at only $1 per board. I bought this to dry and use as table tops down the road but I would also like to use this lumber as siding and flooring in my future workshop.
    More to come, just wanted to get a video put together of the tractor. I'm also using a new computer and editing software so we'll see if there is any improvement...it's a lot faster.
    Thank you for watching.

    I understand your joy, there are a couple of times when a man realizes he's arrived.
    Owning a fine piece of equipment such as your loader equipped tractor is one.
    Now I think back to when you've use come-alongs. Now when you get home after dark your older back will appreciate you. Lol

    Sounds like the carburetor on your generator needs to be cleaned/adjusted. Sounds like the idle circuit is lean or plugged, the engine is hunting. Love your videos bud

    Congratulations on your recent acquisition. It appears that people in your comments section have first hand, heads up experience with a same tractor. Sure will come in handy recreating your grandmother's Log Cabin and keeping the weeds down.

    I spent $3200 for a FEL when i bought my tractor and wondered if i made a mistake. 16 years later i found this was the smartest 3200 i ever spent. My back loves it. That rig is going to be a time saver and will assist you to do some things safer. With all the tasks ahead as you described this will pay for itself quicker than you expect. Plus some fun factor thrown in.

    If you dry it outside, just trow a tarp over it to protect it from the rain. It will dry faster and nicer that way. Good video again! Thank you for sharing! 👍😁

      Woodmizer is a Buick. Fancy gadgets. Lots of advertising. The perception of minimal competition in the marketplace. But the Buick has the same basics as both the more practical Chevy (who advertises due to heavy competition and even references their competitors in ads) and the DELUXE Cadillac (who doesn't need to advertise) so what are you actually buying with those Buick bucks? An old name and shiny paint and not much else.
      That's why Buick barely escapes the grave between Oldsmobile and Pontiac every year and it's why Woodmizer tries just as desperately to be the first and last sawmill the average Joe ever tries.

    I have a tractor just like yours. One thing I found when trying to pick up heavy loads is that the tires (only 6 ply) are really not stiff enough. My future plans are to purchase a heavier tire for the front. Also hope you have fluid filled rear tires.

    • @thehomesteadcraftsman8975
      @thehomesteadcraftsman8975  4 роки тому +2

      Filled rear but agreed on the fronts. At the same time you are getting pretty heavy once it becomes a problem. Some counterweight on the rear would help I think.

    I like the tractor, I just wish it wasn't John Deere. There's been a lot of controversy with that company and its customers lately. John Deere does not consider its customers as "owners" of its equipment. So much so, that they won't allow the customer to repair their own equipment. They only want "Approved" mechanics to repair them. Multiple law suits are pending against them. I'd prefer it if you had a Kubota, it's not American but they work well and have insanely cheap insurance that covers everything. Plus, you'd own it out right.

    • @thehomesteadcraftsman8975
      @thehomesteadcraftsman8975  4 роки тому +2
