Urban locations can be great for getting logs for lumber. There's a lot of interesting trees in both species and growth patterns. Much of the time, these trees have no real value to the "owner" and they are more than willing to let them go to a good cause. In this video I do just that. I picked up a good sized ash log and sassafras crotch and drove them to the sawmill to be cut into lumber for future furniture projects. I cant believe that truck would ever pull that load! Even more amazing is the trailer being able to haul it. Awesome job, shows you know your equipment well.............

Very cool, really liked this one. Didn't realize a small winch could pull such heavy loads.

That was cool man. I like videos like this that show you don't have to always go and get what you need at a store sometimes it's an old barn or a downed tree.

Too cool! I just bought a load of wood form a local sawyer who has a deal with the city to mill up logs that they have cut down from city property etc. Only costs about 65 to 85 cents a bd ft. I ended up with two large logs of maple, one of ash and one of cottonwood. The cottonwood is new to me never tried using it for lumber. Now I wait for it to dry. It is all stickered and stacked and drying away. I love this stuff! SO fun and rewarding.

I noticed you have a square tube in the back of your trailer, if you beef that up you could use it to mount your winch too making it higher and maybe easier to pull your logs onto the trailer. just a thought. nice video.

Enjoyed the ride along, nice surroundings. I'd probably get impatient waiting for that winch to pull the logs onto the trailer if I was doing it though. Looks like some hard work for sure. Bet it's worth it though when you get to produce something nice from it though.
