The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash, and a member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts. Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. The Trillo section, is produced somewhat differently to a vibrato and is a very specific vocal technique used across the Middle East, with local variations, and various names, as Tirallala1 describes well below. It is powerful, and meant to be. Here Dimash is using the Kazakh version which is actually a Mourning Vocalisation. He said later he inserted this into the song - without notice to this Kazakh band; A-Studio.(Ie: didn't do it in rehearsals.} as his mark of Respect the the original lead singer of the band; Batyrkhan Shukenov, since passed away and whom he greatly admired. Lovely Reaction. Yes, it's hard for Dimash NOT to look handsome! 🤣 Let alone kitted out like this! The Trillo section, is produced somewhat differently to a vibrato and is a very specific vocal technique used across the Middle East, with local variations, and various names, as Tirallala1 describes well below.
It is powerful, and meant to be. Here Dimash is using the Kazakh version which is actually a Mourning Vocalisation. He said later he inserted this into the song - without notice to this Kazakh band; A-Studio.(Ie: didn't do it in rehearsals.} as his mark of Respect the the original lead singer of the band; Batyrkhan Shukenov, since passed away and whom he greatly admired. Sinful Passion was composed in 1998 by Batyrkhan and the bands pianist we see here; Baigali Serkebayev. Dimash, always humble and respecful, stated he was honoured to be invited to perform this piece with musicians he has admired and studied since childhood. 👋👋👋
Did you realize who the guy with the white shirt, on the front row of the audience was.... that stood up at the end? That's Igor Krutoy, who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash, a year or so, after this. Igor is a super successful composer, from the Russia (and Ukraine?) area. They still do stuff together.... 'Stranger", 'Ava Maria'... 2 years ago.
Igor stands at the end. This was the first time Igor had seen Dimash perform. this was the catalyst that got Igor to come out of semi retirement to compose for Dimash .
