I think you're the first person to pick up on Arons spy move with one of his drum sticks around 4.32! But you should really read the credits. They always put some easter eggs in there, hidden between the real credits. Like: Henrik Linder - bass/background vocals, unfortunately Stylist - Steven Segal Stunt double - Baby Yoda Skin coach - Darth Sidious ... and lots more.

Thanks a ton, Holls 👍 this song hit fertile ground ;) Loved everything about this, Nav 🤟 Phoenix, the album which has this song on it, is one of two Dirty Loops albums on constant rotation in my car. And every time I get to this song, it hits me 💥 Just in the opening few bars, Jonah’s layered background and his lead vocals 🤯, Aron’s drum fills ☠️ and then Henrik’s bass coming in…! Yeah man, Aron’s stupid drive and incredible power and precision, -it’s just completely nuts! (Your face at 4:54, where the drums and the bass are sort of ‘falling down the stairs’ in the most ingenious way ;) And whilst this video wasn’t filmed live, but the mutual appreciation of each other’s playing is so obvious in all they’re doing. Thanks also for listening through the credits, the pretty cool music, cows, pigs and whatnot… 🤣 And yes you’ll find this and many other Dirty Loops tunes on Spotify. They’ve also released a new, completely mindboggling album recently, Beagle. (Bandcamp is another recommended site to download it from.) Dirty Loops is always guaranteed to bring good vibes; full tilt with no apologies. There's a good humor behind their combo. Infectious is a great description. I hear their concerts are, indeed, a blast. There's such an interplay with no ego; just fun exploration. The three of them went to the same music university together (literally and figuratively. ) Aron (drum) and Henrik (bass) used to practice together for hours on their rhythmic timing after classes; and it shows. With Jonah, (keys and vocals) they began to have fun jamming and perforing cover songs; thus, dirty loops became a band; solely comprised of young session musicians who wanted to have fun. I love all things Ren-iverse but whenever I need a mood boost; something like this is the ticket.

Interesting i hadn't thought about the sheep/wolves and batman lines much before. He must include himself as one of the sheep turned to wolves. I love, love, love your analysis of Ren. If you were offering a graduate level course on Ren, I'd definitely sign up. Ren, and a few others- like Josh Johnson - give me hope for the future. I think we're about to go through some dark times and we're going to need all the light we can find

Solid reaction. Wish I’d found it sooner. In an audience Q&A they explained a bit about the lyrics. In fact, the line “boys who never texted me back” was originally much darker. The problem, as Clyde explained, was that it jarred the listener out of the song and to think about moments in the person’s life rather than the moment at hand. They said they wanted it to work in a style similar to Randy Newman’s songs in which the easygoing, conversational, almost humorous nature of the early verses are a setup for the later lines that hit harder as a result. In this case, the lyrics about numbness, pain and regrets. Funeral isn’t a song about death; it’s a song about living.

YESSS, thank you for this...have been waiting for this analysis from you. I am barely 6 min in, and am blown away yet, again. I have always been thirsty for knowledge and keenly aware of mental prowess. Already your breakdown has made it pretty clear that you are one of the top top top reactors, and it is not even really very close. I appreciate, recognize, and want to compliment you on such an eloquent breakdown. A bit like a "Hi Ren" moment where many feel and live the struggle ...finding how difficult is is to put it all into words. Ren does it with this in his performances/music, as you do the same in world of reactors!

Nav, something you really said I related to… I really felt what you said about how Ren felt the world being against him… I am so glad he is who he is… I have felt that way for so long it gets to be an impossible weight to lift…it gives me even more respect for him than ever…I just don’t know if it’s too late for me… I feel sometimes like when the rowboats went back on the Titanic and everyone was gone… I’m still trying to whistle but everyday it’s getting harder… Ren reminds us we aren’t alone in feeling that way… always a great breakdown… lots of love to you! 🫶🏻x

I really enjoy your assessments. Thanks so much. I think he is fighting off all the many different ills that pop up when trying all the different things for healing not just his body but his soul.
