Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "SOS", "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) UA-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Each performance will leave you stunned. Thank you for reacting to our Dimash from a loyal "Dear" (fandom name given to us by Dimash, because we are dear to him like his family). He has fan clubs in 132 countries.

Such a small taste of what this man can and has done. Dimash has sung on stage with Placido Domingo, and with Lara Fabian, and backstage with Andrea Bocelli. Because he mixes nearly every musical genre from opera to rap, he says there is no name for his genre of music-----but that if one must have a name for it, it's "neoclassical." I simply call it the best world music ever created.
Some background for you... the song was originally written and performed by a Turkish group called "Studio-A." The writer and lead singer had died a short while before this recording, but the rest of he groups was backing Dimash on this delivery. The throat singing near the end was a cultural recognition of the recently deceased. The rest of the band didn't know that Dimash was going to do this, but would have instantly understood the respect he was paying.

Literally just the tip of the iceberg with Dimash! I am looking forward to seeing more reactions. Next should probably be his signature song SOS. There are many versions on his channel, but I vote for the one from is Digital Show.. He has an immense catalog and every single song is amazing and beautiful in it's own way. He sings in just about every genre and every range, often within the same song! He is, IMO, the greatest singer in the world!

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. Pensando encontrar un Español, un Italiano o Francés. Just a little point for some of the great fans here. Dimash didn’t sing “The Pearl Fishers” because it is an entire opera, with many singers, male, and female. So that is incorrect. It’s like saying Julie Andrews sang the entire Sound of Music.
What he did sing, was the male duet from the opera, which is very famous, and it is “Au fond du temple saint.” The duet is for baritone and tenor and there are many wonderful versions of this aria, featuring many wonderful tenors and baritones who also have fabulous voices within their ranges.
Of course, we are all thrilled that Dimash had this fabulous opportunity to sing with Placido Domingo and did himself and his fans, proud. 🎉

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath.
And on top of all his talent and hard work, he’s an amazing human. Modest, grateful, funny, respectful, gives to charity, loves his family above all else. Enjoy your Dimash journey. You are in for the treat of a lifetime. I’m sure you’ve seen this comment a lot already, but you’ve barely scratched the surface of what he can do. Enjoy!

To put it in context:
He sings lower than bass in Opera. The lowest note is usually C2....and higher longer sustained whistle note.
Total Dimash range is G0-D8. By the way, a D8 is a couple of keys past the high end of a piano. And, I believe his Vocal Fry is off the low end of the keyboard.

I suggest starting where it began for most of us The Singer 2017 and SOS, although the Slavic Bazaar version is probably my favorite.
