Thinking about how much I miss your bass covers. As an amateur myself, I always got a kick out of your covers, such great choices of music and great tone, superb covers. I get that life moves on and priorities change, but I for one would welcome any new covers. And if you're in a band and/or gigging, especially in the Newcastle area, let us know what to look out for. Thanks and all the best.
As an ancient bass player, appreciator of classic post-punk, and a huge fan of the late great Mr. Rourke, I salute you; very well done . It's pretty awesome that a lot of your covers are literally stuff I used to practice to when I was a budding bass player. Your choice of covering Wire and Magazine is commendable My challenge to you is to do some more Joy Division, but not the typical stuff. Some of the lines I always loved from Hooky were These Days, Something Must Break, Komakino, and easily the hardest JD song to play on bass: Glass. Get to it!
I just picked up a bass and I kept looking up songs that I wanted to learn to play, your channel kept popping up. Thanks for the inspiration, id love to hear some Pylon, Psychic TV, Pere Ubu, A Certain Ratio and The Tear Drop explodes all bands that inspired me to pick up a bass!
Hope all is well and that you'll be back soon with some new covers. In the meantime I'd like to suggest In a Jar by Dinosaur Jr. Caught them in Hull, UK in 2022. Lou Barlow was impressive. Cheers.
Awesome - you really did it justice, sounds great. This has always been one of my favorite Smiths tracks. I’m a long time bass lover and Andy has always been one of my favorite bassists. I can’t even pick a favorite bassline of his, there are so many good ones.
Yeh there cool, the queen is dead album is one of my faves if you haven't listened to it I'd recommend. Keep doing videos your channels doing good, I just need few more equipment and I'll be starting my own. 🤘
Wow. You're so cute ant talent. I am in my Smiths journey again and I was searching for instrumental tracks for record vocals and it appeard to me somehow. You nailed it!
OMG WTF THIS COVER IS AMAZING!!! Do you think you could do an isolated version of it? I don't know any bass player so it would be nice to be able to practice with this. Thanks and congrats!!!
Greetings from Spain! You play the bass so god damn good, i've started playing last august, and couldn't practice too much becouse my job, but I keep trying step by step (every advice is welcome :D) I would like to ask you one of Stiff Little Fingers, from the Alternative Ulster Single Vinyl: 78 R.P.M.
RIP Andy Rourke
