  • How to use a Disgorger to Unhook a Deeply Hooked Fish - A Disgorger, or Hook Removal Tool is a tiny, but very important, piece of equipment for any angler who wants to take care of the fish we catch.
This simple piece of plastic allows anglers to remove hooks from the throat or even the gut of a fish which has swallowed the bait.
Of course, you could consider just cutting the line to allow the fish to digest the hook over time, but why do that when it is so simple to get the hook out without any damage to the fish?
In this video, I show you how to do it the right way.

Good video 👍. I've only been fishing for a couple of years. A lot of fish that I catch are small canal perch here in the UK. My eyesight isn't the best and I used to struggle with those types of disgorger. I tried the slammo style ones (Guru Conti) and I never had another problem...they get the smallest hooks from the smallest mouths 😄.

Helpfull stuff, ive never used a loop tyer but i think they are more accurate when making up same length rigs.

Those cylinder type ones are okish for hooks smaller than a 10 but not usable on anything bigger whereas the type with a simple ring at the end works perfectly for 22s up to 2s and bigger....

I always do a half loop with the line it seems to help and stops the line coming loose. Great vid once more you have your fish well trained to swallow deeper for the vid ;)

Should only use barbless Den protect the fish as much as we can.

I agree Alan, but my channel also goes out to other countries where they never use barbless hooks, so I have to cover all the bases as they say.
