4:32 Struck a cord with me. It convinced me to not waste time and effort grinding any of the shiny new aircraft. The Su-27 is one of my favorite aircraft, but there really isn’t any point to getting it if the gameplay is bad and will get worse.
maybe it will get better, but my experience in the J-11 it has felt incredibly "floaty" and is very hard to point the nose in a straight line while maneuvering. Honestly the J-8F I researched it with felt much better performance wise. it really feels like they got everything ass backwards on the two front runner aircraft this patch. I'm mostly stock still, only just now getting rank 3 unlocked in the modifications. I really wish I could try dog fighting it at high altitude, but it's air rb, so no one does that.
Imo after flying the flanker for a while, I think the airframe is pretty good, is it as good as in dcs, not even close, but it’s fast, turns well, and has a solid acceleration, and pulls aoa to avoid people’s guns, it has good high speed energy retention but the lower speed bleeds it all, but you can use that to ur advantage by making someone overshoot and use an r73

i mean with ten missiles and an usable airframe if you don't try to furball it's probably by far the best top tier plane in the game rn, f16c/gripen can both be good, but if all they carry is 6x 6m's compared to 6 er's.
F-15 and su-27 will be redundant since neither can get fox 3, so the moment ( next or update after next one) you will have to grind another 400k+ rp to get them... only semi safe option is the grippen
I’d have to check but I’m pretty sure this variant of the flanker can fire the fox three R27EA, in addition the F 15 we have in game couldn’t use AIM 120s to its full advantage due to its radar
If I’m correct the weird cherry picked version F-15a we have here in game is supposed to be have the msip upgrade due to its ability to carry flares. And that version had a better radar and the ability to carry the first version of the AMRAAM. Therefor they it shouldve been given it. But gaijin being gaijin would make their own rules and make us wait to grind for the f-15c in order to get them

Played on both the F-15 and the Su-27. The Su-27 is WAY better in air rb, because of the insane amount of great missiles combined with the HMD and maneuverability, it actually made me have quite some fun in top tier. Playing the F-15 just felt like playing a brick, the F-16C is better than it IMO. The Su-27 is very well worth grinding.
thank god somebody did a real review of this plane. Not just "OMG BEST JET EVER 10 MISSILES!". The radar on this thing is TRASH and really holds the plane back. I don't even bring a full missile load anymore, that's how bad the ERs in combination with this radar are.
I don’t understand why everybody says it’s radar is bad, I’ll have people turn completely away from me 90° try to notch and I never lose lock, I like it more than every other radar in the game.

It's a shame, I'd much rather they take away a couple pylons and give it a better FM. I'm no expert but I've played quite a bit of DCS which I'd hazzard a guess and say is much closer to the actual flight performance of the jet and say that an SU-27 should be able to keep in a dog fight much longer. Better sustained turn, or rate or whatever. Watching DCS vids if I remember right it has worse sustained turn than an F16 ut not by a huge margin. Maybe I'm wrong but current Su-27 in WT kinda sucks to dogfight in.
The 10 missiles are what makes this thing the best top tier aircraft. The issue with the flight model is just that most people pull as hard as possible for any turn because the instructor lets them. Tap that W button and keep your speed up

This Su27 variant is an air superiority fighter, it's not designed for CAS so it will not be good for air to ground attacks. Air RB is a mess and does need a rework, even more than ground RB

when i face the reality of the numbers of hours, silver lions and exp do even play this jet...... the only rational solution is to uninstall the game. and thats what i did. theres no point to play a game when you always on a inferior jet and have to give away your life just to be even.

AoA can work both ways unfortunately making you much easier to hit with it's massive airframe

The range for the HMD Radar Lock is at 10km Just keep that in mind when trying to Engage someone
if youre close enough to need hmd the 10km limit doesnt matter

This radar holds locks just fine when using the right mode. All the other issues seem to be bugs from the patch

MiG-29 has N019 Rubin(Ruby) radar, Su-27 has N001 Mech(Sword) radar
