- I filled my car with so many things I barely fit! I went thrift and consignment shopping this week and I can't wait to show you how I used many of my new fine living find items for my New England home fall decor. It's so much fun getting ready for the cozy fall season that is on its way!

So glad you shared your special needs stepdaughter…so sweet it touched my heart cause, I had a special needs brother for 65 blessed years and I have a special needs granddaughter who is 27. My neighbor has one of those rakes on her inside wall, and she hung dried herbs and flowers from it. It’s very charming.
The rustic gates were a nice Autumn touch. Good plan. Your “thrift” shops are top notch. The few in my area are primarily junk stores. The hotel silver is very pretty. I picture in my mind ladies from a century ago, in their fine dresses and hats, having lunch at a hotel and using these items. Wondering what Willow thought of “Matilda”. I live in the South, so Autumn comes late for us. I am very tempted to have a house in NE, and also keep a condo here to enjoy both regions. We are blessed to have a very, beautiful country with so much natural variety and charm. Thanks, Linda. Have a good week.

Hi Linda! The silver “twisted knife” I inherited from my grandparents was known as the Master Butter Knife. People would use it to portion butter to their individual bread plates from a main butter dish and each place setting would then have a “flat” butter knife to use to butter rolls; bread etc.

I have a 29 yr old Special Needs Son and I always appreciate when people recognize them, treat them with love, and respect. ❤ Your adventures are always so wonderful to get to watch and feel like we’re a part of them. You have such spectacular finds and the fried green tomatoes looked scrumptious. I live in the South, but was born and raised in the mountains and farm country in Ohio and my Mom made the best fried green tomatoes. I have had many different versions of the fried green tomato living in Georgia, but none were as good as my Mom’s.❤ Thank you for taking us along to experience the New England life. Maybe someday I will get to see New England, one can hope. God Bless❤❤❤

Today has gone well as it is now approx. 11:30 am and I have just finished watching your video!😊 I managed all that I’d planned to do so far this morning including my new habit (as per something you mentioned) of washing bedding on Sunday morning), exercising too and cleaning my deck! I’m trying to fit exercising into my daily routine once again thong up until now I haven’t been able to manage consistency. I noticed you appear as though you efforts in that area of our lives has had a nice effect! You look very slim! 😊 well, had my coffee and heading into the next phase of everything that needs doing! I especially want to thank you for sharing you shopping with us all. I don’t get out much in that regards over that last many years. My closets are full of things I’ve purchased very carefully over the years, things I still love and don’t wish to be parted with. I do miss the fun of the shopping though! Have a very good week!🍁🍃🍂

Linda, I love the way you shop! Being from Fairfield County Connecticut I was particularly taken by your Shelton asket item. I thought it might actually be a cane to steady an elderly prerson but no, their brochure"F calls the tiem a "flower stake basket". Shelton Baskets dates back to Columbia CT, In 1911 the company moved to Shelton Connecticut I found a drawing of the Flower Basket you have in a product brochure dated 1920. By the 1960's the company was sold to an American Indian;s and moved to Wisconsin where raq mageriala qwew moew availabe. Modern day Shelton is a center for many well known American Companies' Headquarters including but not limited to: Bic Corporation, Sperry (Top Siders) Hubbell, Turner Construction, Kelly Services and I know that's more than you ever wanted to know! So many fun finds, shops, travels, vignettes, and a food segment all in one video! The perfect pre-autumn treat with so much inspiration! I particularly loved seeing your pheasants dish again - I have a group of the same pattern in plates, and while I love the turkey motif for Thanksgiving, and always enjoyed seeing wild turkeys at my former home, I ultimately decided that I love pheasants just as much, if not more, and use them throughout my autumn season decor, including Thanksgiving. Also love the new top hat - such a great find! It reminded me of your special "Tally Ho" foxhunting Christmas tree with its top hat and fun horse, hound and fox ornaments from nearly 4 years ago - another perfect seasonal inspiration! I can't wait to see how you use this new antique hat! As always, your videos are my favorite Sunday morning (or afternoon) treat!

I'm enjoying New England Nashua NH tonight Sept 18 ,still warm and humid. My husband and I have had such a wonderful time so far visiting friends going out for delicious meals and great shopping and exploring ☺️ Visited Peterborough today lovely village and delicious lunch at River House.
We have five more day to look forward to until we travel back to Southern Ontario and then the Lake House 🍂🌞🌻🥂🍁

The fence is a real charmer 🤩 A friend of mine has an old sealskin top hat, leather gloves, and a pipe on her entry table at Christmas displayed with an old copy of A Christmas Carol. It's a nod of course to Charles Dickens. I love literary references in decor.
Hello Linda. FYI for your viewers, your twisted knife is a fish knife, probably part of an original box set that may have included the accompanying indented fish forks and larger fish servers. Those Victorians and Edwardians invented cutlery and utensils for every conceivable food item at table. I have a full Victorian fish cutlery set that I inherited, the knife blades are engraved and my set has bone handles. I use it to serve all kinds of seafood, and it always sparks curiosity and questions among my guests about the unusual look of the cutlery ….good conversation starter…..he he.

I have had a witch that has the same look as yours. I bought her in a mountain town here in Colorado and I love her. Mine is holding a green frog with a crown. I get such a good feeling when I bring her out every fall.

I like to add green tomatoes with other vegetables to roast. The tanginess compliments potatoes, squash, carrots, peppers, etc. And, they don't get mushy. I also add to squash casserole. Perfection! A tip for buttermilk...use about a tablespoon of white vinegar to just under a cup of milk. Let curdle while you mix dry ingredients and you have buttermilk! I've been doing this for years and it never disappoints.

Beautiful video! I actually have the same rake hanging in my kitchen- came from my mom in law who has since passed. These videos remind me of her as she loved all the same things you do and we used to go antiquing together. I need to find a new antiquing friend! That tavern decor is beautiful my cuppa tea although im not a purist in the style it holds my heart!We New Englanders have been blessed with so much history thats been preserved!🕊💚

When you don't have butter milk add a little vinegar stir let it set for a couple minutes works great. I never use corn meal just flour. Love your fall 🍁 finds especially the gates . 😊That was a great gift for your daughter... she's going to love it. ❤
