Dear Andrea, I agree with you and others about Goodwill prices. Everything is donated to them free of charge. I'm 77yrs old, back in the day ( 1960's) Goodwill was about the name of the store... goodwill. They were about helping those less fortunate. It appears they have become "contenders" with other retail stores...Walmart etc... I believe the best way to get Goodwill's attention is to refrain from purchasing their goods. The Salvation Army and St Vincent's De Paul truly give back to our communities and their prices are more in line with second hand items. Alrighty, I'm off my soapbox. I truly enjoyed this fall vlog. Your home is so warm and inviting. Happy Fall and hugs💞🍂🍁🍂
I do not buy from goodwill and haven’t for years now! They do not give back to the community or anyone but their CEO! I shop at local Christian outreach stores, Salvation Army, cancer resale stores etc.
I agree totally! I’ve given so much to all of the organizations, brand new or slightly used and have gone into their locations to find the price outrageous when my purpose was to give someone else the opportunity to have something really nice for a very low cost. It was also once fun to browse around and pick up unique finds, but that’s no longer the case.
I agree the Goodwill prices are higher now, BUT I have a friend who lost her home in a fire...Goodwill offered to let her go through their warehouse and select furniture pieces for her rental home.
I have that turkey platter. I use to host all holiday dinners for my family. One year my little brother got that platter for me for Christmas. Don't host dinners anymore because most of my family are no longer with us. But every time I look at that platter I send a little prayer up to him. Your home is so beautiful with everything you thrifted. Thank you so much for sharing with us. Have a wonderful weekend 🤗💓💕💞
Our Goodwill prices have gone up a lot! I don't blame you for passing on those overpriced items. You always do a nice job with your design and decor. Have a blessed weekend!
Andrea your home really takes me back in time….a cozy English cottage. You have such a great gift of creativity. Yes the thrifting products are higher just like everything else these days. Loved the antique shop ….some beautiful pieces! I love all your Fall decor..looks lovely.
I agree w you. Goodwill has gotten pricey. I always like to look for old books and even decor books that are vintage. I love that crock on your dining table!! The candles really add to it. The hydrangeas look great. How do you store them and keep them looking nice?
You and Lisa in one day? 😊 I’ve been with you for years and I’m amazed at how you both have come so far in your homes. I remember when you both were just getting basics done and keeping things more scarce out of necessity. As you should! But now you’re both in the actual daily home making fun. My favorite message of yours is restraint. It shows in your choices. I also love the example you both show to young mamas and showing them how to allow time for their own creations. It’s important. Your home is filling w life and at life’s pace. It’s shows. I’m so happy you’re continuing to add pieces around your stove. That’s YOUR spot! Right? Lovely, sister! ❤️ 🍁 🏡
❤️ I just visited the Antiquities Warehouse in Traverse City yesterday! I purchased a washboard too, along with a few other great finds. I absolutely love that store! I live in Michigan as well. I love your decor style and never miss your videos! ❤️
Your home is beautiful. I’m finding in our area (NC) that most of our thrift stores are very expensive. I think that’s why so many stores are busting at the seams with so many items. People aren’t buying. I pretty much pay a few more dollars and buy new now. I used to enjoy thrifting but I rarely go anymore. 😢
Andrea, Thank you for bringing joy, laughter, and godly wisdom to your audience. Where is the location of the Thrift Store with the stone sink? I would love to visit. Maria
I really enjoy your videos, and your ideas. But, please you're taking up so much time advertising anymore!!! Thank God I can zip through it!! Keep your videos fun!
I prefer to pay a little more at antique stores for the curation. In some cases, the prices aren’t that different. But I really prefer to buy most things secondhand. More character and sustainable
Hi Andrea! I love your videos and I watch fervently ! Some over and over!! I love your decorating ideas and use them!! : ) I am 73 years going on 40, : ), but you are as you feel!! Anyway, I love watching you and will continue as a fan! I'm a Mom of 2 lovely daughters and 2 beautiful grandchildren; Nolan age 15 and Ava age 10. What fun I have! You're a beautiful young lady and I also am taking "Seed" and it is helping me immensely!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I'm thinking of trying the Blumene Face Pro also!!! P.S. your boys are darling!!! How blessed we are!!! See you in your videos and many blessings to you and your lovely family!!! : )
Funny enough, putting a little fall in the bathroom always brings a smile 😉. Just add some fall soaps, a fall towel, and a little fall artwork-people always notice.
Oh, Andrea! That basket with dried hydrangeas is stunning!! My goodness!! I love it! Love that crock, too! The arrangement is gorgeous with the candles! Goodwill has gotten ridiculous! I have walked out with nothing, many times. Their prices are outrageous, especially when everything is donated…then, my store always asks if I want to round up so they can train their new employees as I am checking out! Cindi (from WV). 😊
I love your channel! You have the most beautiful house and great ideas! The basket that you passed on is a ThirtyOne item. I have one and I love it because you can put a roll of paper towels on the handle( it slides out) and put hand soap and a trash bag and other items for a picnic. It is a pretty versatile basket. Just FYI… Thank you for sharing your life with us 😊
You should used that antique croc in your kitchen and store your wooden spoons and spatulas in it by your stove…love it. Need some orange and red in your home too!……goodwill has raised their prices toooo high in Georgia too…do better at yardsales….Saturday items are $1 at goodwill with the color of the week. That church pew is gorgeous…did you go back and get it???
You have a better Goodwill than I do as far as goods but I agree they were a little pricey. What you got looked great in your home. As always very cozy and welcoming! Blessings!
Hello, just wanted to mention that the pillow that you were unsure about reads a little pink on camera, but I still think it's really beautiful on your couch or wherever you choose to put it. Your decorating always gives me good ideas. I love your dried Hydrangeas and leaves. Sm
Andrea -- Love the thrift finds. I just thrifted pears too. I didn't realize they are a fall fruit but am thinking of painting some of mine in fall colors. Your thrift stores have awesome prices.
I love how u decorated ur home!! And u r not cheap goodwill prices have been crazy!! I stopped going there cause it’s expensive for a thrift store!! Also i loved the pillows in ur sunroom ❤
you have a cute house, I always look for red and blue berry sprigs, you can do almost anything with a good sprig with berries, I also go on a foraging trip and collect, dried grasses, pinecones and branches I can spray and put glitter on
Amber glassware always reminds me of fall and decided to start collecting it this year. So far I’ve found a vase, a candle holder and 3 small bud vases. I love how they look in my kitchen windows with the sun shining through the glass.
Your home looks beautiful. I live in Eastern Washington and most thrift stores are so expensive here. My husband and I enjoy going to estate sales or Yard sales. 😊
Hello Andrea! Hope you've had a great week😊 I love the dried chamomile, very pretty! I think the pillow covers are really pretty! Oh I love the basket of hydrangeas, its gorgeous❤ Love how you've styled it too! You've really made some very pretty arrangements! When I was a little girl my grandma had a huge apple tree & a pear tree.. those faux pears look just like the ones that were on my grandma's tree! And when they would turn a more brownish/deep yellow color, they would fall or we'd knock them down, they were so crunchy & juicy😋 Grandma always made pear preserves every year! Love the brass utensils! I have a four piece set made from the black cast iron, that are that same size. I had them hanging over my stove. I watch videos with ladies all over the US, and everyone is complaining about GW prices for awhile now. Obviously its coming from cooperate to jack up the prices. I've seen ladies in comments say they no longer shop GW because of the prices. If they keep going up on prices they're going to lose alot more business too! So no you're not cheap, those pumpkins we probably that price, maybe cheaper, brand new! Its supposed to be A thrift store & most items are used, they're ALL donated.. so why?!🤷♀️ That last store you visited, those cutting boards were really pretty! I love anything old & made of wood. Ohh my goodness.. that church pew was gorgeous!😮 And that sink was stunning!❤ Beautiful doors! The boat shelf was really cool. So many beautiful items in all the stores. Thank you for sharing your shopping trip & for always inviting us into your beautiful & cozy home & sharing with us, i always enjoy it! Love all your finds & all the pretty decorating. I pray you have a very blessed weekend😊
All of your ideas were wonderful. You make me want to grow hydrangeas. They dry and don't seem to lose their shape. I love that wash board. I've never seen one like that. Continued Blessings!
You have inspired me over the past year to go thrifting for decor, it’s like a treasure hunt! I am a softy for old baskets now, it’s like they are begging to come home with me 😅 my last video in my living room shows several of them! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you for the lovely idea of using scarves as decor because I have a stack of all patterns and colors that I knew I was holding on to for one reason or another and I was able to pull one of those out to hang on the hall tree in our entryway from the garage.❤
Hi Andrea! I love your style, we have the same taste in decor. I just bought 3 of those velvet pumpkins here in Canada at Winners today, no joke. They were $5.99 Canadian each. You paid $2..99 US YES, the thrift store prices are way too high now but I must say you in the US still get way better deals and variety than we do here. I find the thrift stores are all picked over here. Sending you love from 🇨🇦❤
Your fall decor is beautiful. I love to thrift for artificial florals. I have been known to take apart a thrifted wreath or arrangement , wash the florals then do my own creations. 😂😂❤️
Love all your fall touches! Yes the Traverse City area can be costly. I just paid 2.99 for a big wicker pumpkin at my goodwill. So those pumpkins seemed pricey to me too. Even their Goodwill prices are high in that area.
Your home is beautiful and your ideas are so inspiring… I do have a quick question on your dried hydrangeas. How do you keep them from not falling apart? Every time I’ve dried hydrangeas they fall apart when I touch them. Thank you.
I love your home and your decorating. In my mom's day, she used all things gathered in nature to do cornucopias and would enter them in our grade school Fall festival and win every time.
hey girl- loved the video!😁great finds 😉 Pretty decor in your home Andrea👍Ya I agree those prices at Goodwill were a little high🙄 Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰
I love all your fall decor styling. Your home has always been one of my favorites. I particularly love the scarf idea. That is not something I had thought of before. And I have to agree with you on Goodwill prices, they have gotten out of control. I have been shocked by some of the prices I have seen on some of their items. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Just found you! Love your home. I follow lots of thrifting channels….and EVERYONE is complaining about Goodwills prices!! I got some of those exact velvet pumpkins last year at Dollar Tree. They were $1.25. 🤷🏼♀️
Hello! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that the prices are GW have increased to the point they’re comparable to Marshall’s Ross and TJMaxx. Those autumnal decorations were at a high price point, especially given the fact they are last year’s merchandise. I believe GW should mark them at least 75% off from retail price. A lot of stores do that to get rid to merchandise in preparation for new decor. 🤷🏻♀️
I agree with the pricing at Goodwill. I have noticed the prices on some things seem way too high. The items at the original store is actually cheaper on their sale days than Goodwill. So I have passed up on some things also. Thank you for sharing your decorating tips, I always enjoy your videos.
Your decor looks so lovely, and inspires me. I too find goodwill quite expensive, our local missions thrift store is much more reasonable, and they do a great job displaying items.
That basket with the wooden handle is a toilet paper holder put a roll on the handle. I stop going to Goodwill in our town crazy prices and ours don't take any furniture.
My DollarTree has velvet pumpkins for $1.25. Keep shopping! I like the pillow covers but for the cost, move them around every few weeks for some variety.

I agree! And thank you!! ❤
Yes,I wholeheartedly agree. Must have the same soapbox!😂 I actually find nicer, more curated and inexpensive things at some affordable antique malls!
I do not buy from goodwill and haven’t for years now! They do not give back to the community or anyone but their CEO! I shop at local Christian outreach stores, Salvation Army, cancer resale stores etc.

You're not cheap, you're frugal. 😊 And we appreciate your eye for beautiful thrifted items.

Your home looks lovely for fall. Yes, I agree. Goodwill is pricy. I end up buying new after going there.
Thank you! 😊
I agree that Goodwill has become unreasonable. Ours often charges more than the item cost new in the store.
Absolutely stunning as is everything you add to your gorgeous home!!! 🍁🧡🍁
Thank you so much!
Our Goodwill prices have gone up a lot! I don't blame you for passing on those overpriced items. You always do a nice job with your design and decor. Have a blessed weekend!

I agree, also live in NC. I can let time go by before I return to a store and still see many of the same items. It’s disappointing.
I prefer to pay a little more at antique stores for the curation. In some cases, the prices aren’t that different. But I really prefer to buy most things secondhand. More character and sustainable

They still fall apart on me too! I dry them upside down, but once I’m ready to arrange them, leaves get everywhere!!
Everything was so beautiful in your home.
