Good vid Fred ,, haven't found the reply if you sent me one but I asked how the switch mode power supply is holding up ,, and are you using it much thinking of buying one ,,, thanks shane
My 9900 normally starts a fraction off freq from dead cold. After say 15 mins its normally on freq. Once warm it stays stable and does not drift. Some 6900's can do the same thing. everything is built to a cost.
fredintheshed1 very true.... I just installed the 9900 and you were right. .385.05 cold and .385.03 warm. I haven’t had any QSOs yet maybe later... Now I need to figure out what to do with the Lincoln.
Audio is thin and scratchy on AM, FM sounds like the deviation is less than +/-1Kc, the SSB sounded much better, but still not great. It's a poor show when a brand new radio needs a tune up from the box.
AM was a bit down. To me and being used to Dave's signal and audio i did not think it was too bad. Dont compare to earlier videos on the 450D as that sound has been though a DSP filter and a sound mixer before going to a digital recorder. This was straight from the radio speaker.
Nice video. Love my CRT9900. Great radios.
They throw a long punch for the money.
Cheers for the video and report Fred, I'm well happy, sounds real punchy on ssb. Catch you on 305 tomorrow 73's Dave.
Cheers Dave. I ve got a bit more from you on the net today. With a slight adjustment the 9900 sounding even better.

Hi mate. Yes i think i saw that. I am not yet using the cheap power supplies. I am building a case for them. A video will follow in a week or so.
I run mine at 10w into a kicker the kicker has a fan on it and a fan on the radio and never gets hot
Fans are good, esp on FM.
Does he still have the 9900? Does it stay on frequency or does it drip I like that you can unlock the clarifier or receive and transmit.
