- Now I have a way to heat the workshop doesn't use electricity and it will work better during these cold times better than the Heat pump I currently am using to heat the shop.
The Flexible gas line is CSST - Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing. And it really easy to use.

Nice to meet you
Evan, as long as I have been watching your channel, I have not seen anything that you can't do, electric, gas, solar, plumbing, you have done it all and every job I watched was done professionally, so great job on the propane installation.
Evan is amazing!
He's great at doing hours worth of research and showing us how to did it in just minutes! Thank you Evan
Another very interesting n informative video !! Thanks for sharing
There is nothing in the world like grandpa's tools ❤
or Grandmas! I'm using pots for a long time now that are about 75 years old. Handles are in rough shape on some of them but they are my favorite pots to cook in.
There is no better helper, than man's best friend 😊😊
Hi..... Evan thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
Outstanding Craftsman ship Evan!😇!😇!
Thanks CVA
Mighty fine!! God Bless!!
I love the flexible gas line. Great job well done.
I love watching you do the projects that you do. Everything is done very neatly and professionally. Thanks for sharing your story with us. I always anxiously await your next adventure! Keep those videos coming!
Yes, ceiling fans would be good for heat distribution.
There is a ceiling fan in the workshop.
Good video you always put up good stuff keep up the good work and stay warm
Good clean installation!!!
Evan, be sure to plug the ends of your leftover flexible gas line to keep wasps, bees, and other small insects out.
That is very simple yet very smart advice. Thx.
Wow now I know how the gas line s work Thanks Evan for taking us along to another learning program,
Great video thanks for sharing
Hi Evan and Rebecca, just a quick message from an avid fan of yor channel from England. Firstly I love your honesty, when you make a mistake you don't edit it out which helps others to not make the same mistake. I'm also really impressed that you can both work full time jobs AND give all the animals the attention and care they deserve before freezer camp. Keep up the great work, I look forward to every video you post. All my best wishes for the future, Neil ❤❤❤
That pilot is CALLED a Piezo igniter invented in Italy.
Watch for CO Levels when those heaters don't burn clean blue flames.
Non vented propane heaters make a LOT of moisture. Something to consider if ran in a fairly tight area....the windows and even walls can start to sweat....
One more great example of your work mate many thanks for sharing it and all the best to you all
You should probably buy a couple of wifi carbon monoxide detectors. Don't know if you have any smart home devices that you can use with the detector. If not there are plenty of detectors on the market that will provide a notification to your phones. Don't know if the automatic propane shut off valves designed for RV's will work in your situation You probably need an automatic shut off if you're at work
Awesome job Evan, I sure like what your doing with your shop and farm as a whole. Good luck with the rest of the projects you have, thanks for all the information and sharing it with us. I hope you stay warm and have a good weekend!
-6, it’s warm. Just kidding. We’ve been as low as -33 this winter. Add wind, it’s darn cold.
Yes your very knowledgeable man im learning from watching as well up here in Canada lol
Add a couple solar fans to push heat down.. 6x6 x3/4 plank hollow columns, fan motor mounts central, only moves about 50 cfm at 12vdc drawing air down column and blows across floor area.
Cannot believe the unlimited knowledge of tool use you have. Another job well done and so neatly and professionally installed. Kudos Evan! 👍👍👍
Get a CO 2 monitor for the shop and kennel. The battery ones from Menards are good.
As always, great video!
That flexible gas line is a game changer. Nice job! -Ed
Options and more options. You can never have too many alternatives for survival mode. Good video, thanks!
Looking forward to your updates about the heaters. I'm looking at using one of those for our outdoor kitchen at our camp.
They are running fine. It is keeping the shop at 51 degrees on the lowest setting.
I have used these type heaters in the past to heat my attached garage when I lived in town. I never had any issues. Just have to blow the dust out them and clean before starting them up in the winter.
you should install co detectors in the building when using ventless heaters or other gas heating equipment great video
Thanks Evan
I enjoy watching your videos Evan and Rebecca keep up the good work on the farm. It looks awesome.👍🏽🙂
A small oscillating fan set on low will help circulate the heat and even out the heat in your shop. I have small fan set to low on 24/7 in my shop. I have no hot or cold spots in my shop. Thanks for the episode.
Evan, the look your dog gave the camera as he lay on the shop sofa when you said you were starting the gas line rough-in for the kennel seemed to say…. “Evan, I’ll stay in here and guard the sofa, I hope you will be comfortable in the kennel”!🇨🇦🥶😂✌🏻👍🏻
Stay warm. 💕🙏
Great job , AGAIN, you sure are very knowledgeable, nice to see the dogs❤
Learned a lot as to how these types of heating system work, and too, the cost of setup and to run, especially with use of electricity. "Thanks for sharing"!
Again another great show.
Jim80
Good to see you back on again I know it's been cold.
You have all the tools of a rich man
Congrats Evan, on finally getting around to installing the shop gas lines and heaters. I know the Dogs will like the heat..
Mud season is coming back I hate mud! Amazing how much heat animals generate. My chicken room is about 22* warmer than the barn., about 30 chickens. My barn has 8 horses and it’s about 18* warmer than outdoor temperature
thx for sharing
And the dogs seem to enjoy the new heat too. Nice project, thanks for sharing.
You do outstanding work 👍👍👍👍
Evan, "ventless" heaters still need to be vented. An airtight room will be dangerous. The heater uses the oxygen in the room and expels carbon dioxide and some carbon monoxide.
Very interesting , I love to watch your videos. I LOVE YOU GUYS !! 🥰🥰
I had a heater like yours for my dogs. Only to find out later. When I was gone. The dogs would turn the heater up.
can you please start another channel called "dogs sleeping in the shop by the fire" cause I would watch that all day.
So happy to see you see you using Robertson screws (Canadian invention❣️🇨🇦) instead of the easily stripped Phillips one’s❣️🇨🇦☮️
Watch out for water vapor and carbon monoxide from the ventless heater. The water is very bad in a work shop/
I fed my life stock a little corn when the weather got down to freezing it has a lot of heat in it
Thank you for sharing! Stay warm!
Thanks Evan like the video on Gas lines heater .
Great job looking great keep up the great work love your videos thank you
That was an interesting installation., Good job.
Evan I always have enjoyed your channel and content of the farm Life of neverending chores
Good Electrician will make it all work!!
Its like that good old cold front with Snow
Looks like a job well done. However, I would recommend a strap be added to the top of the heater in the kennel to prevent the dogs from accidentally tipping it over. And with the one in the workshop I would add a screw at the bottom of the unit to make sure it isn't accidentally lifted off of it's mounting bracket. ( It'll also come in handy at holding things in place in case of an earthquake. 😏)
Not gonna lie, you made that look super easy
EDIT: I mistook you for another UA-camr who lives near us in Texas. So the question of Texas to you is irrelevant, but the rest of the comment is good. Have a great day (my original comment follows this)
Wow was this filmed recently in Texas? I don’t think we have seen snow in north Texas about 30 miles west of Sulphur Springs.
Great job as usual. You seem to have all the skills - electrical, plumbing, pipe work and others. It is amazing to see your skill. I put that same gas heater in my mother in laws house in north Dallas and it has worked well for 10 years or more.
Great job. You have skills in putting this together and producing interesting videos. God Bless from north Texas.
Yes it's cold very cold. Stay warm.
It’s cool here to they look great should stay warm!!
Evan, make sure you are following bonding procedures with CSST. Many houses have caught fire when CSST is not properly grounded/bonded.
I'm sure not trying to tell you how to do your job, but you might consider checking out the installation instructions. I've installed CSST multiple times. From the mfg instructions I believe you need to run a solid copper ground wire (lightning strikes pop holes in the stainless tubing) for that system. I hope you take this as it was meant to be- just a little helpful advice. I really enjoy your channel. Thank you.
Man you’re doing a great job! Stay at it.
Always love interactions with the animals
I have used that before when I was in heating and air
No I was wrong that one is different than what I did as much simpler
15:48 I like the dog
I like the dog
Great post;
Never meet a man that didn't cuss a heat pump when it's needed most.
A wise man once said an able bodied soul with a FP insert
Is a warm soul even on the coldest of days
with or without electricity.
Btw love my backup LP gas units
both indoor and outdoor!
U be rite LP gas heat with thermostats R priceless
And save $$$$ big time!
150,000 subscribers. Congratulations. It's been fun watching that number grow over the years! God bless
Great job Evan they're great heater's!
Nice job Evan. These should help during cold days. I see your tractor in the back ground covered up. Blessings🙂
Evan, timely video for me. About to do this type project and had already decided CSST was the way to go.
Open flame heaters in garages should be at least 18" or more because gasoline fumes are heavier than air. I use the infared ventless type for years.
You are amazing at everything you do. You explain each step and you show what to do. With you showing it, it would not be hard to learn. The project was neatly placed from traffic so no damage would occur, great thing to do. To cover the pipe on the wall be great with no distractions. Very professional job well done. I know the dogs will love the warmth you provided for them. Glad you got heat for the barn and right on time. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and keep. Bye for now from Alabama. It’s cold here at 17 degrees at night and lower 30’s during the day. Tell Rebecca stay warm.
Good Day,winter has arrived here in Vermont, cold, not much snow, been a wierd year,i burn wood, luv it.
It sure is cold and glad you got your heaters hooked up...I was the 1K to like this video and I thought that was pretty cool...Sure enjoying watching your videos and thanks for sharing...stay warm...Love Hugs Happiness and Prayers...💗😇🙏🏻
Nice video. Enjoyed Thanks. 👍
Hi, is still amazes me that America is using old method of measuring measuring. The metric system is so much easier. I remember on 14 February 1966, when Australia change going from yards inches etc etc the good thing about the metric system is just blocks of 10 so simple thank God I live in the real world
It worked well enough for NASA and the moon landings…😂
👍👍👍👍👍👌Very well done nice project to get some heat in the shop when you are not there to feed the fire!!!
Great job currently in the city its in the 20's and the kisses you got was thanks for a warm kennel Dad
This video is right on time for me. I am looking at adding a 30,000btu natural gas ventless heater in our living room as a back up heat source.
6:05 Where IT BEGINS !
You have enough area for oxygen in the shop but the dog kennel needs air coming in from outside. These are great heaters but they can be toxic! Great install and video!
Did you not watch the video ? each kennel has an outdoor that I guarantee isn't air tight ..
@@MrBubbahunt9 l'm saying you need a cracked window not air seeping through cracks in a door. Do your homework on these heaters and you may understand what I am talking about!
@@garyjohn316you can see the little doggy door flap. Do you reckon one big enough to allow an Aussie to fit through allows enough fresh air?
It looks pretty tight to me. When I use mine at my cabin, I will open a window about 10 inches. It's not fun waking up with condensation on your walls and throat so dry it's hard to breathe.@@bpdp379
That is not enough air, sorry! When I use the one in my cabin, I crack my window a good 8 in. or more. It's not fun waking up in the middle of the night with a very dry mouth and condensation on the walls.@@bpdp379
Evan you can do most anything. Well done Hoss!
Great video Evan, you’re a talented guy. I must say that I’m very envious of you because I see you do these types of projects with solar, electrical and now this propane heater installation without pulling any permits and getting it inspected. In my area around Seattle we’d have to get a permit for so many of the projects you do. You’re so lucky.
Im here with ya brother. I'm in Illinois not that far from you. This cold snap has been a real B. Well house heater failed and froze up. Hand hauling water to the animals until it thaws. Another great video Evan...stay warm and stay safe guys.
Rebecca he is a keeper good job, love you both don't see you often enough. Friends from New Hampshire.
Another great video. Lots of good information
i feel your pain with the temps. we are not to far away from you and the cold is tough here to
great and educative video, as allways
You probably don’t have time but I’d love to see a simple how to on the basics of the tools you use. From the handheld power tools to the thread cutters.
Very nice, Evan. Nice to see the pets. They have gotten so big.
Evan, I am so envious of your skill set and your workshop. With a tad bit of fortune I'll get a garage built this year to have a shop, if on a much smaller scale, to do some projects, store some things and work on my vehicles and tractor. Great video with a lot of good information. Thank you!
Great job. All the best 🇬🇧.
hey Evan, can i suggest that when running gas piping, to install the shut off valve before the "T" instead of in the "branch" line as you did. that way when it comes time to clean out the debris in the "DEAD LEG or DIRT LEG" or when service is needed on the appliance, you can shut off the gas local to the work needed instead of the main gas line. also i commented a while back that it would have been better to install a ground mount for the solar so snow can be removed from it without climbing up onto the shop roof. stay warm up there in the cold country. jim in central florida
I agree on solar ground mounts. Who wants to deal with snow build-up on the panels when up on a roof?
Muy buen trabajo estás haciendo se mira muy bonito look nice nice job you making
