Yeah it's really a good resource. It's worth checking if the item is part of a set that comes from a coffer. The main one I remember are the Firmament glams like Peacekeeper and Casual, where one of the pieces is like 90%+ of the cost so grabbing the coffer can get you a couple extra items at very close to no cost.

May be worth a mention that glam from grand companies is locked to actually being in that company, so if you switch at some point (or worse, want different pieces from different companies, like me), you'll be locked out of using the previous GC gear as glam until you switch back. Found this out the hard way after leveling the Adders to get one of the top level axes for my WAR and noticed it was crossed out in my glam plate after I'd switched to the Maelstrom...
great video! i'm almost level 60 and there's a lot i didn't know, esp the emperor's new clothes are a lifesaver with all the ugly necklaces you tend to get. i've been using the miqote base skirt as a glamour for all the weird pants leveling gear tends to have, and the thighboots you can get from the adders nest are a lifesaver while leveling!
Some of the disciple of hand stuff can be worn by all jobs, there's a skirt called patricians bottoms that I swore by before I got mog station stuff. The skirt on the thumbnail is from the tailor in gridania and is called velveteen bottoms.
Oof, I wish this video was around back when I was on free trial. I had to painstakingly look for informations and guides on how to look fly while also dodging spoilers.
One more reason I love this game: "Bango Zango in Limsa Lominsa" is a totally normal phrase, and not at all a reason for people to stare at you. I'm just coming back to the game after being gone since the end of EW (6.0 MSQ), and love your videos, Aitherea! Been trying to find a good look for my leveling DRK, so I'll have to check these out.
another place you can find the smith that isn't mentioned in the video is in front of a few dungeons. iirc it's the first three dungeons: Sastasha, Tam-Tara, and Copperbell
In Gridania there is an achievement vendor where you can get some glam items for free. The most important one being the Goblin Hat so you can look like a CUTE Goblin! :D
The exact point you brought up in the first 30 seconds is why I've avoided DoM Jobs because of the burlap sack robes... and sure I have some options that I guess I could Glam... but I have SO many good glams already set up for all my DoW that I'm unwilling to replace a Glam Plate for... So starting an alt is super unappealing because starting totally all over is... ugh. Awesome vid, though, this helped!
Another tip when looking up glam pieces on the market board, you right click on the listings and click "copy item name" so you don't have to type in the whole name
amazing video i sold my default clothes the first time i sold all my lower level gear. so my character was just naked when i switched jobs because i had no clothes!!! i had no idea where to get clothes and ended up just progressing the culinary job to get some basic clothes. Now im seeing there was clothes all around me. i had tried the market board but alot of stuff was just expensive. Thank you for the guide.
Thanks a lot this video was definitely super useful so I can get a head start on the true endgame, fashion. Just started this game, appreciate it a lot
you can craft the hempen camis too.. they're on the very first page of the weaver's crafting log 🤗 you can actually craft a lot of cute glam lvl 1 clothes..
They will probably share with FemRoes because male Hroth use the Roegadude set. E: and it's not just them, both Viera use the Hyur set despite concept art existing for them having their own look, it sucks :(
Most of my favourite glam pieces are from the 1-50 range! If, like me, you like the 'adventurer' look, the holdover items from 1.X are generally great. There's a lot of practical-looking and highly-detailed pieces in there! A personal favourite is the low-level Tank-exclusive gear, the set whose helmet is called a 'celata', if mempry serves. The helmet looks practical and has really cute little bumps if you're on Miqo'te, the breastplate looks sturdy and practical and dovetails perfectly into the gauntlets OR its long cloth sleeves can look good on their own, and the reinforced, padded trousers look good too. The sabatons are the weakest link IMO but are perfectly serviceable. The Disciple of War boots from Aurum Vale are another banger; they sadly cant be dyed, but they have a weathered brown/black look to them, spikes for flair, and look *incredibly* heavy. I'm a massive fan of them on DRG, RPR, WAR, and DRK. I also find it funny to use them on SAM under one of their many wide robe/skirts, as a sort of surprise for anyone expecting them to be wearing sandals. Another favourite is the chain gambesons available to Tanks and Maiming classes; they look great on Dragoon if you want a look that's lighter than plate but heavier than leather. And finally, the Shadowbringers tomestone gear is amazing. There's a Fending/Maiming chestpiece that looks like either layered gambesons or a tabard over chainmail, and Casting/Healing gets some wonderful coats too. I really hope to see more of these pseudo-practical, highly-detailed gearsets tomorrow in Dawntrail.
I hope they keep adding new cosmetics to PvP like the Model outfits and recolored class armor. It's a great incentive to get into it, even if you're just doing Frontline roulette.
A neat little tip for lala glams. Since our bodies are so smol, we’re able to make our hats the centrepiece of a glam For healers I’d recommend the “Orthodox Hat of Healing” it’s undyeable unfortunately but it’s a real nice shade of grey. For any little guys who want big hats give it a shot! I use it for my sage glam and it’s just perfect (It’s also available in white as the “Dravanian hat of healing” and a dyeable version is the “Kudzu hat of healing”)
Also; you can get an emperor's new shield, requires gold saucer however and that unique currency with it. With mog events you can get the MGP token which gives you 50k
To add to the Smith glam that you didn't mention, it's glam for all three roles - they have an outfit for tanks, melee/ranged dps, and healers/casters. Highly recommend all three if you play multiple roles; and yes - everything looks much better than most ARR and some HW gear.

This video would have been a godsend back when I was a little sprout... First good looking outfit I got was the Ninja Jobset I think.
Some set which are really cute, i thick. Which are: - evenstar get - gloam set -- noct set and many more. You can get it from doing MSQ (it just give u 2 sets!), doing hunt => buy it thourgh Allied Seals and also, thourgh Drake (in North Shroud )
Thank you for making this video. It's incredibly helpful to bb players like me. 😸 Also, thank you to everyone leaving additional tips in the comments. The XIV community is amazing. 💛
This are really good tips! I knew most of them except for the wedding dress. I should ask my friends to help me out with some of my alts, thank you for the info! I never knew there are gift to get via "Pvp profile > series" 😂.. I should check what I have unlocked.
If you are planning to do PvP, you can swap to a different class/job while in the waiting phase. The class/job you queued with will gain the EXP, while you can be playing as a different class/job.
For male Au'ra Rogue/Ninja, I used the Au'ra racial bottoms, with falconer boots, boxing gloves, Uraeus Body Armor and the Punching gloves all the way until lvl 60 and I looked fantastic.
I'm free trial in NA this is great ♥️. Nothing worst then being ugo when everyone else perdy😔. The free wedding outfit tip is incredible :o. I actually love some of the dungeon gear from dungeons and mix them. Currently in stormblood where the eastern city is gorgeous but I don't fit in at all 😢. So jealous of Tataru's glam.
There's an eastern style glam in the gold saucer prize exchange. It is not a yukata though :c I know some dungeons in SB have some too but it's more armory
I did not even know that you don’t actually have to have a wedding to get the wedding clothes! I’ve always wanted the dress set so I might just ask a friend to help me and just not do the wedding 😂
yes! this is because they give you the gear BEFORE the wedding so that you can wear it TO the wedding. This is only the case for the free clothes though. If you pay for the version that has the chocobo, you will need to go through with the ceremony because you get the chocobo AFTER.
If I may, sometimes normal armor and weapon vendors have decent gear to use as glam, such as Leather Sandals and Any of the Dress gloves. There's also some that are craftable if you invest in weaving, leatherworking or goldsmithing
Yes, I love the leather sandals! I forgot to mention NPC/vendor gears so i snuck in an unvoiced clip near the end about that xD But every now and then the NPCs do have a piece or 2 that can look cute as part of a glam.
I always get the early game Smith gear set. Decent stats for most of the early levels and yes, looks miles better that all the other dry ass gear from leveling lmao. I used to steer alot of sprouts to the Smith when I see them start running dungeons and still be looking dusty lol 😅😅
Lol thank you. ...i was looking longingly at that one top 6:36 i reeally want since forever ago, but couldnt get because 1) i hate pvp and 2) whenever i push myself to _try_ crystaline conflict so i can obtain those darn crystal trophies, my queue just goes on indefinatly. So, thank you, for showing me i can get crystal trophies through frontline roulette too. I had no idea... ..i guess i'm off to pvp. ugh.
Thanks for the video! I’ve only just recently got into Glamor. I’m a fresh rookie of a month now, but I played FFXI for 20 years. Which brings me to my next point: I’ve noticed a lot of cross over gear wise. I’ve been daydreaming about mimicking old gear from FFXI. If you have any tips on that front I would be grateful! All the best to you! *subscribed*
Fashion Report. The shop with Kasumi only unlocks if you get 100 points x times in a row - I think its 8 times. Something like "win 800 points in 8 weeks) or somesuch. She doesnt oben shop right away... unless they changed that ^^° 9:57 --- I prefer the Adders: the casting crown is unmatched and fits with every glam ^.^ And though they may not be as cute as the Flamme's loincloth, the Adder's caster bottoms are every versatile, too. Though I have to add, I like the more "rustic" glams as opposed to "flimsy", "cute" ones - unless I play dancer that is ^.^ 14:21 --- You have climb the ranks first to unlock this feature :( I think need the third or forth level (counting from bottom here) before you can exchange (dungeon) gear for seals with that NPC. Also, edit: I'm not sure (maybe its different merchants: I usually go to the one in Mor Dhona), but the emperor's gear only unlocks if you have leveled you crafters beyond a certain threashold. I had that just recently with my alt... But yeah, maybe its different merchants?
Good clarifications! There's still some fashion to be had with the grand company even at low ranks (though its not the cutest imo), but you're right, some of the better stuff may take time. For those that are still low levels, theyll want to be farming the GC hunt log + roulettes for seals so they can work on their promotions and be able to turn in gears for seals so they can buy things, whether that be gears or prisms or crafting stuffs!
Kasumi's shop opens in stages, based on how many total points you've earned. It's 600 points to unlock everything (which takes six weeks if you're getting the max score each time, eight weeks if you're just getting 80 points a week), but several things will open up before then. She also has housing items and other interesting miscellany, so it's worth looking in after each week's fashion report.
Thanks for this. I'm still going at the free trial for probably another good 100-150 hours but been slowly trying to figure out good, cheap alternatives for glamour. When I do get to subbing, I'll be prepared for all the glamour possibilities since really I only been looking into DoH master recipes and raid gear.
I really like the heavenssword top for healers. I don't know the name, but you can buy it with this red currency. I personally dued mine black and it looks really nice in it.
I really don't want to do the Crystal Tower raids again, but I think Amon's outfit is good for Bard. Either way, this is of use to me as I am roleplaying that my character sends money to his family to help them out after his immediate needs are met because I have no idea how to make large sums of gil, thus cannot afford high priced good glams. In reality, I tend to spend all my gil on crafting materials because I either don't want to level up a gathering class anymore or it's a pain farming materials and not getting exp from how much farming I'll have done by the time I finish and move on.
Im lucky but the time i started caring about good glam I was pretty well off gil wise. Now i do cosplays, enter glam contests, and often times win more gil then I sped on glams. Over time you build up a collection and certain pieces just are so useful so often.
Just to add, if you've just started to play and have no Gil, you can make a new character on the Dynamis data center and level to 30. Upon reaching level 30 you will instantly gain 1,000,000 Gil. You can then have a friend help you trade that over to your main character, or just use the Dynamis character as your main character.
I just really wish they would add a catalog for all the glamour where you can just access anytime as a separate slot, but they’re currently taking up inventory slots and it’s just a hassle to keep all of them without adding more retainers.
You need to go to the inn and put them in the glamour dresser! Some of them will fit in the armoire (event fashion and mog station fashion). It costs glamour prisms to add stuff to the dresser but if you're in the inn and use the dresser you can apply the glams for free. Also within the dresser you can create glamour plates c:
@@Aitherea Oh, thank you for responding, Aitherea! I knew they had a glamour dress, but I was talking about that not being enough because if you're someone that collects all different kind of clothing, they add up fairly quickly. You're eventually forced to throw some out or get more retainers to make more spaces. I was talking about if they can add a separate catalog similar to World of Warcraft where players can just access it from anywhere (excluding dungeons/raids) and just equip/unequip it from that catalog, similar to how you would open your inventory and just eat a food for buffs. It's the same with fishing too, as in it would be a life changer if they just add a separate tab just for storing all your fishes and baits, instead of those taking up your inventory slots too. This is basically something that a large part of FFXIV community would hope Yoshi-P would add in Dawntrail, or at the very least in the near future 😅
@@duskshadow25 oooh I see what you're saying. I thought maybe you were a new player who wasn't sure how to use the glam dresser. I've almost used up 800 slots as well. Not holding my breath on any changes to the system as it sounds like it's a tough fix due to the game engine being so old.
man, i remember back in like 3.0-4.0 I used to make most of my money by buying Prisms using Company Seals and sell them on the market board. Was good money for a while, then they added glamor plates and it kinda tanked the price of prisms lol.
I remember when I started Playing, I wanted 2B boots so bad i ended in the mog store buying the Demonic Glam just for the gloves and boots combined with the Faire Joi set. I used those glams all the time

It took way longer than I expected to level grand company for those glam prisms, turns out they’re also on market board for cheap (because the sellers are basically scamming you lol)
@@Aitherea In general! I see some dances in the city states people use and I'm never sure what they are or where to get them. The way emotes are named is so confusing
hmm, most of what i could think of i already put into the video. Fashion is the game.im glad I learned alot of this before I finished arr,im a new player.i learned marked board is last resort.
Bro I feel like they didn't add great boots to the game just to sell us good ones in the store for years.
As a Sage main that likes a good portion of the robes, I am offended at the potato sack comment lmfao

Another place is from retainers. They will bring back some glam which is usually sellable or for your own use.
I thank my retainers every day for saving me some gil bc I no longer have to buy furniture or glam XD
the true importance of FF14
glam
HUH WTF ARE YOU DOUNG HERE
May be worth a mention that glam from grand companies is locked to actually being in that company, so if you switch at some point (or worse, want different pieces from different companies, like me), you'll be locked out of using the previous GC gear as glam until you switch back. Found this out the hard way after leveling the Adders to get one of the top level axes for my WAR and noticed it was crossed out in my glam plate after I'd switched to the Maelstrom...
Thx for the info! I didn't even know this (I maxed Mal and was too worried to switch).
great video! i'm almost level 60 and there's a lot i didn't know, esp the emperor's new clothes are a lifesaver with all the ugly necklaces you tend to get. i've been using the miqote base skirt as a glamour for all the weird pants leveling gear tends to have, and the thighboots you can get from the adders nest are a lifesaver while leveling!
Some of the disciple of hand stuff can be worn by all jobs, there's a skirt called patricians bottoms that I swore by before I got mog station stuff. The skirt on the thumbnail is from the tailor in gridania and is called velveteen bottoms.
@@Aitherea thanks, i’ll check the skirts out!
I started playing FFXIV recently and was wondering why a lot of the people I saw looked so much better than me; good vid
another place you can find the smith that isn't mentioned in the video is in front of a few dungeons. iirc it's the first three dungeons: Sastasha, Tam-Tara, and Copperbell
Just starting up but this vid finally made this glamor all make sense, thank you!🤩
Another tip when looking up glam pieces on the market board, you right click on the listings and click "copy item name" so you don't have to type in the whole name
Thank you so much for this! I'm all about aesthetics and can't ever be caught looking terrible :(!
a great informative video , and a soothing voice with a good quality mic.... thats a like and a sub :)
omg thank you so much, im new to FF14 and play healer its good to know i can go to the smith and all these tips as we have robes :) thank you :)
Fem Roe: Roe default beginning gear with the arms left off and replaced with long fingernails, the clothing in pearl white and the nails in gold.
amazing video i sold my default clothes the first time i sold all my lower level gear. so my character was just naked when i switched jobs because i had no clothes!!! i had no idea where to get clothes and ended up just progressing the culinary job to get some basic clothes. Now im seeing there was clothes all around me. i had tried the market board but alot of stuff was just expensive. Thank you for the guide.
You are so underrated, editing was clean, voice and audio mixed great and this was so informative thank you pretty inspiring.
Thanks a lot this video was definitely super useful so I can get a head start on the true endgame, fashion. Just started this game, appreciate it a lot
The hempen camise set on the elf is sooooo classy! I wish I didn't hate the female's run so much or I'd play one.
I didn’t know that you can see if an item is sold by a npc on the marketboard! Thank you ❤
you can craft the hempen camis too.. they're on the very first page of the weaver's crafting log 🤗 you can actually craft a lot of cute glam lvl 1 clothes..
Can't wait to see what the FemHroth Hempen set looks like.
I have high expectations.
They will probably share with FemRoes because male Hroth use the Roegadude set. E: and it's not just them, both Viera use the Hyur set despite concept art existing for them having their own look, it sucks :(
@@InnocentGuillotine FemRoe set is decent, though I'd prefer to get the Thighlander version if they're going to share a set with anyone.
Starting a new character after a 10 year break and this is the only guide I'm watching
Lizard girls can look absolutely stunning. Recently got into this game and ofc I discovered ERP.
acolyte set is among the best early game glam you can get imo, hands down. available from sastasha, copperbell mines and tam tara deepcroft
Since our bodies are so smol, we’re able to make our hats the centrepiece of a glam
For healers I’d recommend the “Orthodox Hat of Healing” it’s undyeable unfortunately but it’s a real nice shade of grey. For any little guys who want big hats give it a shot! I use it for my sage glam and it’s just perfect
(It’s also available in white as the “Dravanian hat of healing” and a dyeable version is the “Kudzu hat of healing”)
This was super useful thank you so much!! I recently started an alt on a free trial account and wanted to cute-ify my looks a bit more :3
Also; you can get an emperor's new shield, requires gold saucer however and that unique currency with it.
Which are:
- evenstar get
- gloam set
-- noct set
and many more.
You can get it from doing MSQ (it just give u 2 sets!), doing hunt => buy it thourgh Allied Seals and also, thourgh Drake (in North Shroud )
Thank you for making this video. It's incredibly helpful to bb players like me. 😸
Also, thank you to everyone leaving additional tips in the comments. The XIV community is amazing. 💛
Hehe, I wear brand new gearset as glam for my alts so Im happy you mentioned it
omg thanks, just started last week, this helped a bunch :3
One of the first things I did was grind MGP to get the Gambler’s trench coat, it’s Setzer’s coat from FF6!!
@@Aitherea Oooh I see I was wondering what the difference is between the versions thank you for telling me!
you are the goat, thanks for these glam videos
The hempen camise was my go to glamor when I was on free trial, it’s super cute when you dye it
how do you dye it?? :/ i already did the quest but i cant figure it out
Amazing! Just subbed :D Thank you so much for this info! I LOVE the black outfit at 12:30!! Do you have the name for the pieces?
Met my gf in FF14, and she showed me everything about glam in the game, but this is really good video - way to go. :^)
Long distance online dating in videogames will always make me lol 😂
Lol thank you. ...i was looking longingly at that one top 6:36 i reeally want since forever ago, but couldnt get because 1) i hate pvp and 2) whenever i push myself to _try_ crystaline conflict so i can obtain those darn crystal trophies, my queue just goes on indefinatly. So, thank you, for showing me i can get crystal trophies through frontline roulette too. I had no idea... ..i guess i'm off to pvp. ugh.
The Emperor’s cloth pieces, very clever way to reference the tale of The Emperor’s New Clothes.
i noticed that too!
I'm leveling an alt arcanist, this is just what I needed! ^^
I do the fronline ones a day with my dailies and so worth it
Thanks for the video!
She doesnt oben shop right away... unless they changed that ^^°
9:57 --- I prefer the Adders: the casting crown is unmatched and fits with every glam ^.^ And though they may not be as cute as the Flamme's loincloth, the Adder's caster bottoms are every versatile, too. Though I have to add, I like the more "rustic" glams as opposed to "flimsy", "cute" ones - unless I play dancer that is ^.^
14:21 --- You have climb the ranks first to unlock this feature :( I think need the third or forth level (counting from bottom here) before you can exchange (dungeon) gear for seals with that NPC.
Can't save the world if you ant' cute.
Facts.
Over time you build up a collection and certain pieces just are so useful so often.
hi, i was wondering what you mean by you dosplays. do you mean in-game? also, where are there glam contests? how do i spectate one?
I recently made a F2P account cause i cant afford a subscription anymore, and most of these are so useful thank youu 😭
I'm new via xbox! Got my sub! Looking forward to these kinds of tips! Thank you!
Omg ty I just started today and I wanted to glam up so bad
this is super useful, thank you!
this guide is a lifesaver, thank you!!
man, i remember back in like 3.0-4.0 I used to make most of my money by buying Prisms using Company Seals and sell them on the market board. Was good money for a while, then they added glamor plates and it kinda tanked the price of prisms lol.
I remember when I started Playing, I wanted 2B boots so bad i ended in the mog store buying the Demonic Glam just for the gloves and boots combined with the Faire Joi set. I used those glams all the time
Finally some good fucking content about things that matter.
My wife started a new account and she's been leveling up a fresh toon and Ive been laughing over her shoulder at her ugliness. Dude those heavy plate armor that cover your whole body and face up are GROSS LOL.

The xbox beta started recently and i appreciate this video so much for making me look good because the gear sucks so much
Been playing for years and still learned a lot
OH MY GOSH! I never knew you could buy the emperor pieces from a vendor, I've been buying them off the market board D:
It took way longer than I expected to level grand company for those glam prisms, turns out they’re also on market board for cheap (because the sellers are basically scamming you lol)

hmm, most of what i could think of i already put into the video.
