Aitherea, once again, does not disappoint with her glam vid. And yes, I *do* understand about the shoes. I was so excited about the frontier set until I saw how it dyed. Biggest self inflicted fail in FF14 (tied with a certain top that made your skirt/pants disappear). Also, really do love your Mi'quo
I’m begging them to make the Eden gear have two dye channels. Specifically the Aiming/Maiming sets from E4S, with the second dye channel being the metal trim. PLEASE, I JUST WANT THE METAL TO MATCH MY BOW ON BARD.
I'm begging them to actually let the second dye channel control the secondary color on [tons of old gear] instead of the primary channel applying to both and the secondary affecting a couple of buttons or a strap. 👀
Especially lately, I've been seeing a lot of copper-toned metals. It's FANTASTIC being able to dye other metals to get really close to that copper color!
You know I just started playing final fantasy and I really love the fact that I can find people telling me about the endgame raids and then more importantly someone telling me about the endgame that truly matters in glam updates. Thanks a lot
I have to admit, I don't watch all of your videos. But this one really showed me how far your presentation skill has come since you first started showing up in my feed! Keep up the great work!
@@Jo21 oh which ones are not? if you mean the Stormblood artifacts you need to do Eureka content to unlock the dyeable versions. If it's the Shadowbringers you need to do Memoria Miseria EX.
this is fantastic and i love it! opened my eyes to a bunch of new glams. also - in your segment about the valentoine's stuff, the waistcoat with the double-dye system is *exquisite*. i've made so many classy outfits with it. the waistcoat with the college skirt is just, god i highly recommend trying it. thank you again for the video!
I honestly use a lot of artifact gear myself. But with 2 dye through almost all tiers (60-100), I find you can really mix and match the best parts of each set now. Stuff I found I really enjoyed, though, were the clothes Tataru makes for us during msq. I think it's called the Scion Traveller's outfit? Being able to dye the inside of the cape was pretty fun to play around with. Also the ratholos gear! Especially the headpiece - you can dye the flames.
I use the flannel suspenders for my dancer glam, being able to dye the shirt and flannel separately gives me a lot of options for looks, like competitive ballroom dancer (I wear something similar when I compete), knife thrower, etc
I'm a glamorer myself, I make glams for a male Miqo'te character, I find the 2 dye channel pretty underwhelming, if I am being very honest. A lot of the glams have a very odd secondary dye channel - the Sarcenet Chestpiece of Striking has a very odd combo of metal and leather that dye simultaneously which I am not a huge fan of. That said, my favourite pieces that I work with a lot since the 2 dye channel was introduced are the Martial Artist's Slops combined with the Dalmascan Leather Shoes. There's so many MNK and Dancer glams that can be created with just these 2 pieces combined and a variety of colors.
The robe rant at the end though. Truth. If you make your bad dye glams rant video however, I think its important to note that the glams which are being meme'd on for having odd dye placements are (from what I've found) pieces that were overly affected by the first dye slot already. To talk about an example - the Fat Cat Loungewear. If you were to look at the item and guess how two dye slots would affect it with no prior knowledge, you'd probably guess that 1 channel would dye the pattern sections and the second channel would dye the main plain section of the garments. However the original way this outfit dyed with only 1 dye channel was that almost the entire piece would dye in one go to match your dye. Which is still how channel 1 works now. No pieces have had how their original dye channel function changed. All of the old gears that have had a channel added to them have taken a texture of the item that was never before dyable and now made it dyable. So for an item like the fat cat gear, the only things not dyable already were tiny details like the bobble on the hoodie or the cat ears on the slippers. People are jumping to the (correct) conclusion that these pieces dye poorly but I think they are missing this part of the discussion thats important. It may not even be possible without completely retexturing the item but what I'd ask is for the devs to revisit pieces if needed and to remap what is dyed in certain pieces entirely. Or if they don't want to mess with current items, add a new item that has the better dye option. (But this wouldn't be a fair option for Mogstation items.) I hope this made sense. It was kind of difficulty to explain coherantly. And sorry if you already knew about this! But I think the distinction and understanding of the topic is important, especially if it will act as feedback for the dev team. :)
I can't imagine your pain as a healer main for glams. I have been trying to make a glam for Sage based on a Xenoblade 2 character (Pneuma, don't look her up if you don't want to be spoiled on that game) and nearly all the healing sets are just robes. I need some cool cyber armor kinda stuff, please Yoshi P. The job's whole thing is fighting with these little robo-drones, why is all the job gear like suits and stuff? Crazy, this is why I stick with DPS. We have all the good gear (I'm sorry). I also need all the Late Allagan stuff to get the 2 channels.
Something else that may be interesting for a video is to talk about new pieces of gear that reuse old models but have added second dye channels. For example, one of the new crafted pieces is reusing the same model as the Ala Mhigan Coat of Casting. There's also one that's reusing the AR-Caen crafter chest piece.
Yeah, the Theophany robes are my favorite too 🌮. I was really disappointed the Garo gear didn't get the double dye treatment. I practically live in those Makai Moon Guide's robes, but I hate how they dye so leave them undyed most of the time.
My fav 2-Dye upgrade has to be the eternal bonds set, especially the female shoes. Before you could only dye the buttons and the little bow on the back, while the main shoe stayed white. Now you can dye the main fabric too, which opens up so many cute options.
Eastern Lady Errand is bae. I recently made two versions of it using the black base and adding pure white and pastel pink. Frontier dress is a pretty go to for me. 🌮
Thanks for the video, since im still finding old clothing pieces around my glamour locker that have gained the 2 dye system, so this helps to narrow it down The long witch gloves was the highlight, i also gotta go and buy that now, since there is no mandatory orange anymore
The Nezha Lady's Attire dye's incredibly well now, especially the shorts/tights. I think it's a set a lot of people have overlooked for the double dye.
What I would like to see with two dyes is the Uraeus Skirt. Currently, the trim of the skirt can only be white. It's not bad per se, it works well with my Au Ra's Viper and Black Mage glams, but if the trim could be colored as well, it would open so many more possibilities.
Fun fact if you’re character tanned is dark enough you can use the cork dye to the skyworker singlet to make it look like that the tat not even There, I did it in my alt tho she a bit on the light side, They are plenty of pale characters not enough tanned characters
Favorites: honestly most of the summer event sets got major upgrades with the second dye slot, which they didn't really need since they were already cute but I won't complain; Frontier Dress for exactly the reasons you said; the level 60 PLD artifact gear (the Creed set), because now I can fully live out my Paladin Barbie dreams; and the Summer Indigo Shirt, because the second dye slot only changes the stone in the necklace but it's the only way I've found to have a dyeable necklace (even though it's not actually the necklace slot) Missed opportunities that I hope get the second dye channel with the next wave: the Light Steel Galerus/Subligar, which are the dyeable versions of the Coliseum set (steel bikini on female models), currently the dye channel only dyes the leather straps that are barely visible most of the time, and the metal pieces are the parts I want to dye the most; the Taffeta Shawl/Loincloth is also just begging for a second dye channel, the current dye channel already makes some parts a different shade of the dye you choose for the other parts so it makes more sense to just give us full control of both dye areas. Really, I think that most/all of the craftable glam pieces that already have one dye channel deserve to go ahead and get the second one, these items are literally meant only for glam purposes so I think they should've been first in line to get glam-related updates Side note, as a SCH main I'm often left feeling extremely jealous about WHM and AST artifact gear. I really really wish they'd implement a system to allow us to "unlock" job artifact gear and turn it into role gear instead, there are so many jobs that have amazing gear that I want to use in glams but they're usually not the jobs I actually like playing haha
I feel you so hard with the dyeable coliseum stuff!! Imagine if we could actually dye the breast plate?! Weirdly, they did update MOST of the crafted glams to have 2 dye channels. I guess they missed a few :c
I dont know what has been my favorite 2nd channel dye, (though the ones that lett me change the metal accents are certainly up there) but my least favorite has been the Appointed Jacket from Ameiliance. Because dyeing the jacket changes the undershirt from black to white and the 2nd channel just changes the band on the vest.
Honestly all I wanted was to get veil this expac and that would go so well with the DNC DT AF gear. I also hate how I can't change the colour of the flowy bits and instead it's the stupid jewellery like thavnairian set again. Other than that, thanks for the expeditioner set's reminder. I used it in almost every drk glam coz DRKs are prolly the only class that have no access to the makai quartertights glams. I can't tank well if I don't see my thighs 🤣 but I changed out those and bought the lightning set coz the leather portion looked ugly with every other top piece except the strife vest. I can finally bring those shorts back ❤
The sheer and utter dismay I felt when I loaded in the game after the patch and.... the Neo Ishgardian set wasn't 2-dye. WHY? Why can't I dye my corset??? LET ME DYE THE CORSET YOU COWARDS.
Hey, I love the Vanguard Healing set! However my aesthetic leans towards cozy and tomboyish, so, y'know, different strokes for different folks. I'd LOVE to see a video pointing out the pieces where channel 2 is something like... one single button. Because they've done that! One button! ONE SINGLE SOLITARY GODDAMN BUTTON.
xD yeah i might be the odd one out with it, no idea. I know a lot of peoplpe like it as ive seen friends using it and just general excitement over the sets from that dungeon. Maybe I'll have to make the follow up cuz they def made some interesting choices on some pieces :x Or left others without 2 dyes and its like but whyyyyyy
Oh, okay, so you do have an ASMR channel. See, getting near end of video I was saying, this is a candidate ASMR video creator :P I used to get those comments on tutorials, so eventually it became my thing too :P
My favorite 2 dye is the PLD level 90 gear. On one hand, THE GRAPHICS UPDATE RUINED MY GALMOUR WITH IT....On the other, the two dyes fixed it.....sooooo win win?
I already like the Ala Mhigan gown before but now you can change the color of the undershirt so it's probably going to stay as my Pictomancer glam for a while.
1:46 Tbh we all needed this back when they first introduced it. The fact that they chose to go with that latte yellow on the crochet is insane. That shade of brown doesn't look good unless it's paired with dalamud red or maybe royal blue so the choices were so limited. You just can't use anything bright/pastel on that dress it's ridiculous. They really need to make RGB dyes an option, I'd rather have RGB dyeing instead of that mediocre graphical 'update'.
I wanted to ask what kind of 2-Dye pieces you dispise, so I am looking forward to that video aswell though.. as for me.. I can't really think of a particular piece that I think really stands out as an improvement with the 2nd Dye, I mean you showed really good examples, but I? hmm.. maybe the the lvl100 SAM Hakama?
The Thavnarian straps don't duo dye, but the shoes do? I know the shoes do because I wear those on my character in like 3 glams. But the "pants" don't? That's very strange...
It's always been like that, too, which is the really strange part. The only dyable part on the shoes before the 2-dye system was the straps, so you'd think they would've done that with the bottoms, too. Apparently not, I guess.
The skirt used multiple times throughout the video is the eastern lady errant skirt! it really does fit with everything, and now that it has a 2nd dye channel, even the silver detail can be changed to match w/e you want. Unfortunately, yes it is mog station. It's definitely worth picking up the set when it's on sale though. I use the gloves and the skirt quite a bit, but I do really like the chest piece!
Me and my buddy were talking about the new WoW expansion and he said "I really wish they would just add a dye system because I dont have fun with transmog at all" and I was like "we got a second dye channel in 14 before WoW got one lol" and he was like "man shut up" lmao.
Amazing video. HOWEVER, as an Austrian (and yes I do own a few Dirndl myself ^^ ) I had to stop the video at 18:10 The "i" in Dirndl is pronounced like the "e" of be ;P Also was abnout time FF14 got 2 dyeslots. *laughing in 4 possible dyeslots in Guild Wars 2* :P I would love to play more ff14 sadly grinding the story every time burnes me out so much that I never come to the fun part of the game" q.q

Your outfits are lovely❤. Dyes do so much i love the spring dress. I also love the whote outfit your wearing. What name is? This video was so cute and well done❤
The Faerie Tale Princess Heels(Mog Station) have been my go to shoes for years. There are no cute and pretty heels in the game. Now that the Frontier Pumps have been fixed, I can give my Faerie Tale Princess Heels a break, lol.
those shoes are so nice too, but they also suffer from the issue of having accents. I know the one on the front dyes now, but i think the back still looks the same.
The Skirt in the section about the witch's gloves is my favorite honestly. I hated that the Faire Kohakama forced you to use White Stockings. now you can make them match any boots/shoes you're wearing b/c the stocking are dyeable.
@@Aitherea haha The number one fail for me is the kimono from Mt. Rokkon. Was so excited for it once I saw it was given a second channel since there were so many parts that could dye.... but the 2nd dye part is just a tiny strip of the lining that is literally barely noticeable. It's just sad and makes me wonder why they even bothered
The Halloween event I think is called "All Saint's wake" or something. Also some of the double dye channels items are so cool but there's a looooot that makes me upset lmao. Hopefully they improve it in the future.
Bro I might make a whole video just ranting about why they made the 2nd dye channel on some pieces a single button on a pair of pants like my dude what. Sometimes I would search and take forever to find what the 2nd dye channel even is cuz its the most miniscule detail that you can't even see anyway so it literally feels like what's the point?
@@Aitherea Exactly idk why they thought the stitching in buttons of all places, on the pajama tops and fat cat hoodie were a good idea for a dye channel. You basically really do still only have one in those cases. And a long list of other ones that have random pieces dyed other than what I would have wanted to dye. So much potential wasted.
2:32 dress from the 1600. wish yoshiP would stop playing around and just give us a glamour expansion pack, with 10,000 pieces of clothes, shoes, hats, and armor. it should cost 5000 yen ($50) understand people would prefer to farm rare items, but we would like them as soon possible. .... at the moment, the american's have a DEI problems with their games and culture. SquareEnix has gone "mild" DEI for over 8 years. 23:28 are DEI outfits.
Loving the fact that despite misspeaking at 8:16 ("A piece of shoes"😆) you're just so delighted about the multi-dying options that have been added to the game. Great advertisement for this new feature of FF XIV with your enthusiastic interpretations. Btw: Have you also checked out the Songbird attire yet? My favorite glamour set so far. 💯
That one is really solid too! Honestly, there were more I could have included but I didnt want the video to get too long so i tried to pick my most favorite of favorites.

I woupd also like to see worst version for 2 Dye System like i change something in for second channel but cant find the changes haha
Just found the Peacelover shirt is cute two dyes :)
this is a useful video
The Thavnarian straps don't duo dye, but the shoes do? I know the shoes do because I wear those on my character in like 3 glams. But the "pants" don't? That's very strange...
It's always been like that, too, which is the really strange part. The only dyable part on the shoes before the 2-dye system was the straps, so you'd think they would've done that with the bottoms, too. Apparently not, I guess.
9:41 Idk if that was intended or not lmao *"Butt"*
She gotta meant it like this since she pronounced the double-T with passion. 🍑
Well, of course she meant it this way. Proof for that is her pronunciation of the double-T. 🍑
What is that skirt you always wear? Is it ij the mog station? I love it it's fits literally everything.
Aitherea giving me glam ideas...cheers milady! Keep up the good work!
Me and my buddy were talking about the new WoW expansion and he said "I really wish they would just add a dye system because I dont have fun with transmog at all" and I was like "we got a second dye channel in 14 before WoW got one lol" and he was like "man shut up" lmao.
You’re doing god’s work Aitherea, thanks.
Side question, are you now perma-catgirl since graphics refresh?
Not sure yet! I might try face 2 au ra and see how i feel about it before i settle on what race I want to be.
..... I think I destroyed my summer sandals because it was impossible to make that glam work at the time
Calamity salvager is waiting for you.
🌮
Amazing video.
HOWEVER, as an Austrian (and yes I do own a few Dirndl myself ^^ ) I had to stop the video at 18:10
The "i" in Dirndl is pronounced like the "e" of be ;P
Also was abnout time FF14 got 2 dyeslots. *laughing in 4 possible dyeslots in Guild Wars 2* :P
I would love to play more ff14 sadly grinding the story every time burnes me out so much that I never come to the fun part of the game" q.q
hmm so it's pronounced more like deerndl?
@@Aitherea Kinda I looked up a video from a local shop they say it at 14 seconds the first time and few times more if you are interessted ^.^ very pretty Dirndl that they are showcasing :o

could you do a video of cute glams you can make from the market board?

What boots and skirt are you wearing with that WHM glam at the beginning?

Your outfits are lovely❤. Dyes do so much i love the spring dress. I also love the whote outfit your wearing. What name is? This video was so cute and well done❤
The Faerie Tale Princess Heels(Mog Station) have been my go to shoes for years. There are no cute and pretty heels in the game. Now that the Frontier Pumps have been fixed, I can give my Faerie Tale Princess Heels a break, lol.
those shoes are so nice too, but they also suffer from the issue of having accents. I know the one on the front dyes now, but i think the back still looks the same.
Theophany glam ftw
The Skirt in the section about the witch's gloves is my favorite honestly. I hated that the Faire Kohakama forced you to use White Stockings. now you can make them match any boots/shoes you're wearing b/c the stocking are dyeable.
yeah as i was editing i was like "I shouldve dyed these red to match the boots." I just wish the sash could be dyed too. I need a 3rd dye channel xD
@@Aitherea glamourer's current system where you can go in and individually edit all the dye rows spoils me. I want that so bad.
My winner is the moonfire skirt.
Side note, your moon cat?
Very cute
Who else here agrees Tataru needs to give us another piece of job gear
bro got me thirsting 😔
I'm slightly mad that they didn't update the late allagan pvp gear with the two-dye system, i alsolutely hate how that gear dyes.
As the video went on your voice changed…. 🤣
Now I'm just waiting on the flip side to this video, with the worst uses of the 2 dye system. I know I've got at least a few contenders in mind. :/
ahaha spill maybe ill include them!
No frog suit whaddya hate frogs or something🙁
i was today years old when i learned it's pronounced "boostier" and not "BUST-ier" lul
its probably boost - ee - yay but tf do i know
The Halloween event I think is called "All Saint's wake" or something.
What’s the name of the hairstyle and where to get it?
It’s the gyr abanian plait, you can get it from heaven on high sacks or buy it on the mb
