I wouldn’t give the haters any thought when it comes to their opinions on shopping. They obviously don’t know what it’s like living the struggle. What I love about this video is the same thing that I have loved on all of your videos. It’s your way of taking these humble ingredients that some people will turn their nose up at and turning them into actual meals that taste good and anyone would be proud of. A single mother may take these ideas and give her kids their first true thanksgiving meal because you showed that it’s possible. Thank you for the care and compassion you put into every video!!
@@mickeymousey1239I assume she and others are referring to LisaDawns statements in the beginning of the video. It’s too bad she has to explain herself like she did.
I love that you make everything special, on a budget. And you never look down on people, for not being able to afford the best. You make” thrifty “ delicious!!
We're just like to add. I have 3 college graduates with master's degrees from 47. My daughter, who would have been 35 this year who passed on 28 and already had to bachelors the year of 2017 when was 3 weeks from going into her masters degree. So I consider her conquering the education part. We've always struggled, we're farmers and landscapers. We live seasonal, and we've been married 49 years and hope for 49 more.
I’m truly sorry about about its been a lot death in the last couple months and Anniversary’s of them as well the Holidays haven’t been the same 🙏🏾❤️for everyone 😢

My Mother in Law lives in a place that has a Dollar General, but the nearest grocery store is 36 miles away. There are so many people in small places like this, so these videos are super helpful.
You made a meal that anyone would be thankful to eat!!! It looks like a fancy, expensive restaurant meal. You just taught people who can't afford a lot or a small family that doesn't want a lot, how to make a delicious meal ❤❤❤❤❤ My family of 3 are living in a pop-up camper right now. We have an electric skillet to cook our meals. I watch your videos and others also to help figure our meals. Thank you and I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving 🙏
When we lived in our camper, we had a burner and a toaster oven... We made everything with them, including my first chicken cordon bleu(used a hammer to flatten the chicken). Good times 😊
Many years when my older children were small. We never missed a holiday. It might not be a traditional holiday meal. But we were fortunate enough to be grateful for what we had.
This is gonna sound weird but your using the piece of junk mail to write notes totally brought me back to my childhood as my parents would leave us notes of instruction on such junk mail! 😂
dont let the trolls get to you..I think you give very good options and advice to limited consumers...I live rural upstate NY;...grow alot of my own veggies and some meat...not everyone is able to do what I do..chin up girl
Thank you! 💙 I think it's often not even trolls (though sometimes it definitely is lol), just people who don't know what they don't know. The idea of the nearest grocery store being a 45 minute drive away, or only being able to access stores that you can walk to, or even just the real vs tv experience of poverty itself is just so completely outside the experience of a lot of people that "why wouldn't you just shop at a normal grocery store" is the obvious well meaning alternative to them. Also, I love that you can raise your own meat! I definitely hope to be able to do that someday! Andrew is from upstate NY, it's a beautiful part of the country!
I long ago refused to let trolls get to me when I do my political satire blog. I tune the out, do my thing and get published in various media outlets. You cannot listen to them, don't let them bait you, just block them. Life is too short and you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
When we were young and just starting out we had no car, no money, no help. We walked everywhere including work and to grocery shop. Poverty was exhausting! We lived in a food desert and often walked to the local mom and pop convience store. Selection was low and prices were high. This kind of creativity would have worth millions to us! Keep doing what you do. We have all of those things now but still make some of your recipes lol
We were in the same boat years ago. 3 small kids-no money and zero help. We did have a car but we considered it a really good day if it actually started😂😂I learned how to make a meal out of what looked like nothing. We are far from that now but I still budget shop and watch these videos because I refuse to spend the money I see friends spending on groceries. Everyone is complaining about grocery prices but my grocery bill hasn’t changed much because I still cook creatively and mostly from scratch. I really believe that money struggles teach you valuable lessons that you never forget.
@@CynthiaRockroth haha me too! Plus I have a brother as well, so it would split to three 😅As a grown up I don't eat anything sweet. I don't like sweet flavor.

Second comment. I made a great cheap stuffing during university and still use this recipe today (only I do add more mushrooms etc now) So shred up any stale bread(Walmart near me has 44c day old baguettes) In a pan fry a chopped onion and a few fresh mushrooms in oil. I add the bread to the pain ..then add any seasonings I want (garlic, black pepper, paprika and poultry seasoning) Throw in a couple tablespoons of margarine . Combine chicken bouillon in two cups of water to your taste…pop that fried bread onion mushroom mixture in a baking pan and pour the liquid over it…and bake.Average cost 2 bucks Canadian if that!
I have watched your videos for several years now, and I always enjoy what you make with what you are able to find. I agree that there are so many food deserts in our country, and many people don't have reliable transportation or access to healthy foods and have to make due with what they can get close to them. Thank you for posting these and giving great ideas for everyday and holiday meals!
Here’s an idea if you don’t have money for produce and you already have your hot vegetable sides like the corn casserole, green beans casserole already done and want a cold veggie, use canned pickled beets and serve that as a cold salad with artichoke hearts or cold vegetable succotash or mixed vegetables with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder and black pepper…they are good really cold if you can get kids to eat a bite but most kids may not enjoy it but adults probably can get a little more veggies into their meal that way. I’m definitely a meat/potatoes girl but that’s how I round out dinner sometimes.

We have dollar generals everywhere here and sometimes that's where we absolutely have to shop. Amazing video again Lisa! I think it's wonderful that you show how to cook a lovely meal with limited options, I'm sure many people appreciate it. Looking forward to your next video, love from Australia 💚
When the app says they're in stock items may have been shoplifted. I drove a fairly long way across my city for a specific item which was showing in stock in only that particular branch out of more than ten stores. The staff then told me they think those are showing up on the system despite not being in the store due to theft.
❤I love your meals and your ideas and totally agree on saying that not everyone lives by a big grocery store it doesn't look like your struggling at all. Happy Thanksgiving and blessings ❤.
Your videos are so well made. I’ve been watching you for a few years now. We live in pricey Southern California. Your video shows that with a little money you can make a beautiful feast. Also, you are right on the eggs. A dozen here goes for about $3 to 4 dollars a dozen. Looking forward to your next video-thanks again.
You are so good at narrating your process as you go along. So easy to listen to. These are great ideas and others can use them as jumping off points. Love the turkey wrapped stuffing roll idea! I might do that instead of the skewers, then take the canned carrots and potatoes and mash them together for a mashed potato-type side. Then I’d replace the mashed potatoes with green beans for a little different color on the plate. The cranberry cake is brilliant and I bet if you could have found the whole cranberry sauce the fruit flavor would be more pronounced. All in all a really inspiring video.
I did see your stuffed turkey cold cuts video and I made them and I realized that you are a food guru as they were delicious. Thank you Lisa for all the new ideas for great tasting food on a budget. Everyone needs to watch your videos in my opinion. Thank you for all that you do to help us eat well.

Also if you want cheaper stuffing you can buy another box of Jiffy cornbread mix and make stuffing out of cornbread.
You're such a kind person. I enjoy your videos so much because u have simple yet interesting ideas. A real person w real life. Keep em coming. That pumpkin pudding u made i would have never thought of.
we make your turkey roll ups every year. their so good
I love her turkey roll ups. I make them once a month or whenever I just want a quick, filling meal.
I love your videos. I'm looking forward to the Dollar Tree Thanksgiving dinner video.
OK, wait! I am so excited we are heading to fall Thanksgiving dinner videos this year! Yay! You always make the most thoughtfully calculated budget holiday meals on UA-cam, hands-down.
I bought that same casserole dish (corn casserole) this year, and will be using it for the first time this Thanksgiving.
Great job Lisa God bless!
This is a very nice Thanksgiving meal Lisa!!! It looks very creative!!! TFS!!!
So excited!!!
Amazing video again Lisa! I think it's wonderful that you show how to cook a lovely meal with limited options, I'm sure many people appreciate it. Looking forward to your next video, love from Australia 💚
I love your videos!!!!!! Thank you for helping so many people where they are in their food experience.
When the app says they're in stock items may have been shoplifted. I drove a fairly long way across my city for a specific item which was showing in stock in only that particular branch out of more than ten stores. The staff then told me they think those are showing up on the system despite not being in the store due to theft.
That is true....the theft is real
DG police patrolling. Lol
Thank you Lisa. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I've watched plenty of this type of content, and this is by far my favorite twist on a TG dinner... Thanks for sharing!
Impressive!! Go Girl!! Happy Thanksgiving. Your gift for cooking is priceless. Trust me! 😆
So creative! Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
Thank you so much! 💙
I love all of your videos. Keep going. They don't come out as often as other creators so when one pops up, it is a real treat.
These videos are fun because you get to be creative with things! I am sure people appreciate that you do these.
The dinner really does look superb! I would have happily eaten all of it. Thank you for the video.
❤I love your meals and your ideas and totally agree on saying that not everyone lives by a big grocery store it doesn't look like your struggling at all. Happy Thanksgiving and blessings ❤.
Thanksgiving dinner looked so yummy!! Nice presentation too & very creative! Table very festive!! Great job!
The cranberry cake was genius and the corn casserole sounds good too. I never had corn casserole …..👍👍
Lisa, your a genius at this!! Your so helpful to so many. 💕🙏🙏
I did see your stuffed turkey cold cuts video and I made them and I realized that you are a food guru as they were delicious. Thank you Lisa for all the new ideas for great tasting food on a budget. Everyone needs to watch your videos in my opinion. Thank you for all that you do to help us eat well.
That meal looked absolutely wonderful! 🦃🥔🥕🌽🍁
I love these holiday themed videos. I wish I was there to taste everything! Yummy! Love from Texas ❤
