    Appreciate the video updates. I tore both my acl’s & mcl’s in a ski accident 12/28/23. Had to do pt pre-rehab to learn how to walk again and prep for surgery. Did that 3.5 months and had my first acl/mcl repair surgery 4/12/24. Today is now 5/28 and I am trying to navigate the one crutch. I definitely don’t feel as confident walking outside my house without both though. And often times my wheelchair comes with. Because technically my left knee is still torn, when I place the majority of the weight on that leg, it gets weak after just minutes. Finally able to drive and it feels so liberating! Been doing pt twice a week but still having a lot of trouble strengthening out that leg. They started me on BFR last week fml I hate hate hate it! So extremely painful, I cry everytime. Wouldn’t wish this on anyone. But appreciate all the help and motivation I can get!

This was during the second second set I got hurt so I say I was pretty warmed up already. Thanks for the videos, they were useful in getting me prepared for what I was in for. I'm week 5 of acl hamstring graft with meniscus repair. From your videos and others it seems that there is quite different advice given about weight bearing/braces in the states vs Europe. My surgeon and physio have had me up and about, without a brace, full weight bearing since week 1. Yet to go for a follow up consultation so could turn out to be terrible advice. I'm currently more mobile than you were week 5, which I'm guessing is down to less muscle atrophy. Hope you;ve made a good recovery a year on!

    • @AK-gc7gm
      @AK-gc7gm Рік тому +2

      @@arunkoulec18 I live in europe and my doc advised that I use crutches for 4 weeks and 1 week with 1 crutch till I got the hang of walking again so I'd say after a month and a half is appropriate if you have meniscus and acl, but it depends if your cartilage was also damaged in that case id say around 2 months at least. I walked normally after a month and a half and had no issues. Just focus on walking form because you will have to teach yourself to walk again and the same thing later for running. Just listen to your body and how it reacts there is no time zone for everybody

    Had acl reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery 16 days ago. Had a follow up with my doctor today and he told me to start getting rid of the crutches. He wanted me to go full weight bearing and remove the crutches as I was comfortable. Surprising walking wasn’t painful so I ditched the crutches. But going full weight bearing and no crutches barely 2 weeks after meniscus repair was kind of surprising to me. Everything I’ve seen for that surgery seemed like 4-6 weeks of non-weight bearing
