Last week I was looking through bread and roll recipes and came across this 30 minute roll recipe and decided to give it a try (I usually use either a bread machine or a longer rise recipe). Tried this recipe and brought it upstairs where they coincidentally were making spaghetti and meatballs and it was quite the hit! Everyone loved the rolls, my 2 grandsons actually had more than one and another for the next day! Thank you for sharing the quick and easy recipe!!

When I went to make this recipe tonight, I realized I was out of eggs. I had already mixed a few ingredients together so I decided I would just keep going and make this recipe without the egg. I brushed them with salted butter at the end. They turned out great and so delicious. My kids asked me to keep this recipe! I have to try it with the egg next time!! Thanks for a quick recipe for delicious dinner rolls!!
I'll definitely make these. I saw so many things never seen before....like the oil right in w the yeast and sugar, for one. Huh. And then no double-rising....now I'm perplexed why there are two methods for the same result (when it comes to the rising, I mean). Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I want to make these tonight . 2 tbsp seems like alot of yeast? I have yeast in the packets , I think 0.75g per packet. How many packets would this recipe require using??
I used plain flower they turned out like scones 😜 but were still nice need to try again I've only got a halogen oven don't know if that makes a difference thanks anyway scones were lovely I've never baked before but enjoying it anyway thanks again 😋👍
A wonderful preparation. The 1st time took me over 1 hr because I was so careful to get the measurements accurate, sift the bread flour etc.... I’d say 15 min in the oven and 15 prep plus measuring an overage of the 3 minutes. BUT, it’s so nice still to have bread in less than several hours. Mine are coming out of the oven NOW. Gotta go....
Leigh Anne, Disregard my previous slight complaint about the prep time. These rolls are done quickly and they’re just wonderful! I feel as though I actually know what I’m doing now. Most importantly, my wife loves them !!! I’ll make my 2nd batch tomorrow. These will become a staple at my table! As many bakers, cooks and chefs do, I am now curious what flavor or herbal embellishments I can add. Nonetheless, it ain’t broken. Thanks for ALL of the recipe tips and insight you provide.
Okay. This is a problem. I followed the directions, step by step, word for word and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY!! Here's the problem: i can see me making these very often. The greater problem is that I can also see me rolling this dough out flat, covering it with creamy butter, cinnamon and brown sugar, rolling it up, cutting it into about a dozen slices and making homemade cinnamon rolls. Fat farm, here I come!!! 😂
I have a question. Great recipe but why after eating the buns I keep smelling and even tasting the dry active yeast and even some stomach pain. My active dry yeast is brand new please advise thanks
Hi Leigh Ann, I wondered if it would work with less sugar? Say half the amount? We do not like our bread sweet at all but I understand you need it for the yeast. Do you think it would work to reduce the sugar amount?

The amount of yeast is what helps the rolls be done in 30 minutes. 2 Tbsp is equivalent to 18.6 grams

these rolls do have a lot of yeast in them which is what helps the rise so quickly. If you have a sensitivity to yeast this recipe may not be for you.

You definitely can,, I like to wrap them individual in plastic wrap and then foil
MY dough did not come out smooth. My dough came out crumbly?? Any help?
you may have need a little extra water, your altitude and temperature will effect the dough.

I think it would work fine to reduce the sugar - let me know how they turn out!
My dough was super sticky I did add more flour any other tips?
Your weather, altitude and the type of flour you use can make a difference. Just add more flour until the dough is tacky but not sticky.
