Hi Gina. I'm 77 years old and consider myself a good cook. However, this recipe took my baking skills to another level. I've been making grandma Seward's rolls for 2+ years, and you are absolutely right... no better rolls. Thanks for sharing.
I have made these rolls 3 times and my family love them. I add 1 cup of sugar to the recipe because everyone love sweet dinner rolls. I think I have made all your dishes. I love your spirit and you make cooking fun.
I made an apple pie today, and it made me miss my mother. She taught me just about everything I know about baking, like a lot of us. While I watched, you impressed me with the way you love the dough you made. It is like therapy, especially when it helps us remember our grandmas and moms. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, and your stories. It looks amazing!
I recommend using the hook from the beginning. It just makes it much easier. I made these and they are delicious! I made a mistake by adding a 1/3 of sugar instead of a 1/4 but they were fine! I tried to take out some of the sugar with a spoon, but I’m not sure how much I removed. Next time I will be sure to use a 1/4 :) These were delicious!
Totally Awesome Rolls, I made them for Christmas , and they disappeared so fast I wanted to make more, Thank you so much for Blessing my Family with this recipe. Much Love, Carol,……..St.Paul, Mn.
I know this video is a couple years old, but I've watched it a few times and finally just tonight made Grandma Seward's dinner rolls. Watched this video so I could follow what you were doing as I prepared my dough. THEY TURNED OUT WONDERFUL! THANK YOU!!! 👍🌺☕💕
My grandma taught me how to make yeast rolls when I was a little girl, I was always intimidated with making the balls. Finally decided to make some and they are delicious😋😋
Sitting with a big smile on my face. I have never witnessed anyone making the rolls so exciting. I agree with all of your sentiments and am going to make your grandma's rolls very soon myself. I always think that the the two best things to come along was something that could knead your bread dough and, the washing machine. You are a wonderful teacher. I don't know you personally but am so thankful for your obvious love for your family..
These look AMAZING! These beautiful rolls are going to be our new family tradition and I can't thank you enough! You have definitely blessed my family by sharing this recipe!
Hello from TN! Much like other people, I have great memories of homemade bread! Our schools no longer exist. But I remember Miss Bertha's yeast rolls, served on Friday, with spaghetti & green beans. Peach cobbler for dessert! I thought I'd starve before lunchtime would come!! As the reader below said, you could smell it all over the school building! I thought we ate like KINGS!! Our cooks were Miss Bertha, Miss Tommy, Mrs. Tompkins, and more! They were so good to us kids! I'm 67 now, I'll never forget them and the great homemade food we had! Bee blessed.
My rural Georgia school was the same. Sometimes you could smell the food all the way into the classroom, and I'd almost gnaw my arm off waiting for lunch time lol
Rita McCartt-Kordon Hi TN. I 'm from TN too and we had som of those fabulous yeast rolls as well. Doesn't this lady make you Wish we could get our hands on some of this delicious rolls now? That smell is embedded in my brain. I will make these, probably over and over again. God bless you and Ms. Gena. Happy eating.👍🏻😄
WOW, Just made these as a test run for our Thanksgiving dinner, and wow, these are GREAT and very easy to make. I have never made homemade rolls but I will made these again and share this recipe. Thanks Gina
I just found them for this year and I just shared it with everyone how come no one has ever seen these these are amazing and a shared on my Facebook page and I gave Gina the shout out and I hope that she sees because people are raving over these they are delicious I made them yesterday
Ms Gina you are one of the sweetest little Cooks on here. Your voice is so soothing I absolutely love to hear you talk. Always good instructions very thorough. That makes it easy for us. I love to watch your videos, they seem to be so easy. I am going to try your no need bun bread recipe. They look like I will never stop making them. Thank you for all your hard work sweetie, and making Everybody's Day wonderful. Food is also my passion, and I've always been a good cook. I'm from Louisiana so that's the kind of food I make. So thank you again for being so sweet and so helpful to all of us Cooks out in Foodland. Have a blessed day. I will keep watching you.
Of course, I watched your video about 5 times before I was brave enough to try it. But I just made yeast rolls. My Mother loves to tell stories of her Mother’s baking. But watching me go through the process, the smells, the baking, and the lovely end product just brought it all back for her. Thank you so much. It was such a joy watching my Mother slowly savor each bite. God Bless.❤️
I got such calm, comforted and peaceful pleasure watching this video. I think this was the best demonstration for these rolls ever. Your voice and your delivery is just lovely. You are friendly, you teach beautifully. Thank you!
I love how sweet and enthusiastic you are. I’m trying this today. Yesterday I made homemade yeast rolls but kneading it was a work out. I’m trying these tonight. My family loved the ones I made but that’s just too much work to make often. This looks like an awesome alternative! Thanks for sharing your family recipe ❤️
The little Texas school I attended for all 12 yrs, was veeery poor until I was in high school and then it was just normally poor… Most days we had black eyed peas, greens and rice or potatoes. Other days we had beans ditto. Some days they stepped it up to bbq weenies or goolosh. And don’t get me wrong; we ate the nutritional food and didn’t know that there was any better way. And a big part of the lunchroom joy was that EVERY day almost no exceptions, they gave us unlimited quantities of what we all still just refer to as lunchroom rolls. They were these mammoth fabulous fragrant delicious beyond words light bread yeast rolls. We also had unlimited fresh honey in big jars on the tables… you could smell those rolls all over the school from about 10:30 am and it was so sweet and comforting and the anticipation was awesome. These are those rolls! Years later I taught at another veeery small *but rich) farming community school. The “head “ lunchroom lady had worked in the lunchroom at that school for 52 yrs at that time. From long before the oil money hit. She refused to retire bc she knew that after she was gone, they would feed her 4 generations (dozens of whom still arrived at the lunchroom on tractors or trucks to eat lunch still every day), of her babies “that fast food mess”. Miss Jeri used that same recipe to make those same mammoth “lunchroom rolls” as they were referred to there too as well as most of the hundreds of other similar schools. But she had gotten to jimmyin’ it around some as more money was available for groceries and ingredients. She added eggs and butter to it and mashed them out long, heavily buttered that top and then folded it over double let it rise a little and made their homemade hamburger buns. Add more eggs to that and some season to make hoagie rolls for philly cheese steak sandwiches, and for Stromboli every week, etc… Such delights!! And such a sweet harken and remembrance lingered from the doable delights engineered in those very humble places in very humble “old school” times and ways to fill up hungry kiddos and teachers on nearly thin air and commodities… Now, I’m off in the middle of the night to make me a pan of them because I talked about them til I worked up too much memory and hunger for them to wait til tomorrow… I’m so weak!!!
I gained three pounds watching that delicious heaven in a pan. Can’t wait to make these. Update: made these this morning and OMG these are so delicious! My family went crazy. Thank you thank you thank you for posting this!
These rolls look like masterpieces to me. They're absolute works of art. Just beautiful and yummy! Thanks, Gina, for taking the extra time to show exactly how to pinch and form the rolls. God bless you, too.
I love the sound of your slippers scuffing the kitchen floor when you walk. It reminds me of my Mother (and I’m sure many women/men) working hard in the kitchen providing food for their family day after day - meal after meal. Double Scuffing for Holidays! I grew up with this sound and I hope in my lifetime I will always hear this sound. Thank you for this wonderful recipe Ms. Gina and Happy Thanksgiving....
Alright, I just finished taking these rolls out of the oven. They were perfectly cooled right as my boyfriend came home, and he ate two of them right away! My friends shared a few others, so half the pan was gone within 5 minutes. This recipe is amazing! I'm going to hold onto this for sure!!! I dont have a stand mixer so I made these by hand, and let them rise for 2 hours because my house is pretty cold. 10/10
What can I say ,my first try ever that i made dinner rolls. They turned out soooo awesome, and thank you very much for this amazing recipe. Just wonderful. Greetings from Germany.
These rolls were incredible! It truly made me feel proud to pull these golden brown soft fluffy rolls out of the oven and that I made them! Thanks for making me feel like a baker, and blessing us with this heavenly recipe. Thank you :)
I have been making homemade bread for about 3 years now & by far this is the easiest & the most tastiest bread I have ever made. There's no doubt that I probably will make these on a weekly basis instead of only on holidays. Thank you for sharing your Grandmother's bread recipe. May God be with you and your family & please stay safe.
I am a terrible cook and these are the most delicious rolls ever. These are way better than store bought. The texture on the inside is wonderful. I froze the leftovers thinking I would heat them up in a week or so but I had to have more the next day. They taste even BETTER after being frozen for a day. I don't like using too much butter so I drizzled olive oil over the tops. Delicious. God is so good!
Thank you so much for giving us the step by step clear instructions on making these yeast rolls. I had to laugh because I thought I was the only one on the planet that says Tea towels. My mama always referred to them as Tea towels and that has just stuck with me. God bless you Gina.
Made these today and they were really good. I used milk instead of water. I had to adjust temp to 350 because my bottom oven had then browning too fast. Will make a new batch for Thanksgiving. I made these again on Thanksgiving adjusted temp to 350, cooked for 18 mins, they came out perfect. Fluffy and soft and buttery.
My wife and I just made these. They turned out AMAZING ! Before now, I have not had any luck making anything with yeast in it. I am truly amazed and very happy. I finally conquered a yeast product. Our rolls were a little bigger than base balls. I think that our oven must be hotter than most. After 18 minutes they got very dark. We took them out and they were done. We might try 16 minutes next time. I noticed that Gina used Active Dry Yeast in the video. The written instructions calls for Rapid Rise Yeast. We used Active Dry Yeast and they turned out perfect. We probably won't try any other Roll recipes. This turned out great. Why switch. Very happy the way these turned out. Thanks Gina your amazing in our book. ( Cook book that is)
Gina- These look wonderful ! Thank you for sharing this video with us! God Bless you & your grandmother! We sure miss our grandmothers & Mother’s when they are gone!
I was about to make the Rolls and the Korean Chicken and after gathering most of my ingredients, I found out that I didn't have any Flour so I will have to prepare my food tomorrow for Dinner after I buy the Flour. Thanks for the Recipe Gina.
I'm back! I tried your recipe to exact directions for the rolls....omg, they are awesome and now going to be my go to recipe forever. Then, I got curious if I added 1 1/2 cups of more flour, if the dough would turn out good loaves. I can attest, this dough with that added flour makes perfect bread loaves....it made 2 loaves. I just baked them at 375 degrees for 15 minutes and at 350 degrees for an additional 30 minutes. Depending on your oven and altitude, you may have to just check your loaves at that 30 minute mark and add more time if needed. I live in the Seattle area. Thank you so much for posting this recipe! It's a keeper!
I made these for our Thanksgiving Dinner this year. I've only ever tried making yeast dinner rolls once before and failed, but I followed along with you and they turned out awesome! I'm excited to be making them yet once again today for our little immediate family Christmas celebratation. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I've enjoyed getting to cook with you for the holidays! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!!!!
Yes...! My grandmother made these for everything's giving dinner we had together as a huge family.. 8 children and over 30 of us grandchildren...I been searching over 25 years for this recipe...thanks to you I now have one like grandmother's... I did not believe it whenever I was a child but my grandmother did say that they were somewhat easy to make with no kneeling required...!?! I have seen other recipes of these that were extremely time consuming and a bit difficult to make... So I could not avoid the temptation of making them ahead of time so hopefully they will be more perfect for Thanksgiving even as they turned out amazing already...! Thanks to you and your grandmother Seward...! 👍👍🏆
I just absolutely love to watch your "HAPPY" videos!!! They're such a joy & make my heart smile ! Your recipes are so tasty! And, absolutely love your joyful little chuckles hear & there. You're adorable!😍👍Thank you so much & keep 'em coming!
I made these rolls and followed your directions to the letter. They were wonderful!!! They were so light and fluffy my husband said he had to hold them down to keep them from floating off. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe and Bless your grandmother and you! Have a beautiful day!
Thank you so much for sharing. I was never able to make yeast rolls this fluffy. In fact I was never a baker whatsoever. But I follow your instruction and they turned out perfect. Great great recipe. Again, thank you. Much appreciated.
I loved your excitement! This made my mouth water. You made it look so easy that I’m going to try it. I just got a kitchen aid mixer and made a loaf of bread, a couple days ago, for the first time in my life. I have no doubt I can make these. Thank you 🙏🌻🌻
Wish I had time to watch this over and over it is so entertaining and just makes you feel good. I can't wait to try to recipe. I wanted to bite into the screen when she took out the done roll and held one up. Like someone else mentioned, too, she has the most comforting voice.
I am definitely making this for my thanksgiving dinner. I usually make refrigerator potato rolls but this recipe looks so perfect. I’m going to make it tomorrow to try it out. Looks so delicious!!
Your personality is delightful!!❤️ And...this yeast roll recipe is exactly what I was looking for...and remembering from school days. I’ve tried several recipes...but, none turned out with that soft, moist, high rise goodness like your Grandma Seward’s recipe. Thank you SO much for sharing!
Thank you for the recipe. I had shoulder surgery. I can not knead dough, so your rolls let me feed my family delicious 😋 bread. Thank you again. God bless you, take care.
Am making a trial batch today. So i can surprise my family at Thanksgiving. We love bread especially hot fresh dinner rolls!!!! Thank you for the recipe
In The Kitchen With Gina Young I’ve never made bread before (well, without a bread machine haha!) so forgive me for having to ask this, but is the flour self rising?? Also, is the yeast fast acting? I want to think I bought the one that says something like quick rise (I can’t remember exactly) can you tell me the exact name for the yeast please. I love love love allll of your videos!! You’re a very sweet, kind and humble lady. I just want you to know how much you’re appreciated..and loved!! Please keep the videos coming and thank you for praying over all of us! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
@@pameladunn6014 fast acting, quick rise, instant yeast is all the same kind that only takes about 60-120 minutes to rise... The other yeast packages that doesn't say anything like instant, quick acting ECT take several hours to rise. You use all-purpose flour for these rolls. I don't know what these would be like with self rising flour, but you could add baking powder to the all purpose flour and that turns it into self rising and you could give it a try
It takes me back to grade school. We had the greatest lunch room ladies that could cook the best lunches that has ever been. And the rolls they would make would melt in your mouth.
OMG Gina these rolls look like my Momma's rolls!!! I miss her so much. I never learned how to make them when she was alive. I'm going to try this for the holidays. Test run this weekend. I love your spirit! God Bless you Mrs. Gina!!!
Hi Gina, I have seen this video many many times but I finally decided to try the dinner roll recipe, OMG! Thank you… my yeast rolls turned out PERFECTLY! I was in total shock! I’ve been defeated many times and had given up on the idea of making yeast rolls. I adore you and have been a fan for years!
Wow they look so fluffy after baking! I just can't wait to try these! By the way, if you buy yourself a small natural bristle paint brush it works great for brushing the tops of rolls!
These rolls are soooooooooo good. I made them for my family on Christmas and now they want me to make them again today for a New Years dinner. I have a feeling I will be making these on every holiday.😁
Charlotte Lewis all of my recipes are all so fun and easy thank u and thanks for watching God bless enjoy the rest of the channel. HAve a great day 🙋🏽♀️😊
Gina you cook just like my mum and grandma, lot of the same recipes. Homemade comfort food, nothing better than that, You inspire me, and I am trying a lot of your recipes.Thank you for sharing.
Gina, these look INCREDIBLE! I'm afraid I don't have the great memories that you do, from childhood, of your Grandmother, and her kitchen. But I still am itching to try these. They DO look beautiful, and so fluffy! Incredible! Thanks, once again, for sharing your heart and soul with us through your amazing food! God bless!
Me too. Trying this recipe for the first time, for the few people we are allowed to share our Thanksgiving holiday with this year. Trying to bring happiness to our family with food and to bring smiles to faces after a very scary year. Thanks for sharing your grandma's recipe and so much of your time. Will let though know how many smiles we were able to share because of your rolls.
Hi this is a fantastic tutorial you explained every step you are a natural teacher ,I make my own yeast bread,I am going to make the yeast rolls in the next few days. Thank you for all and good tips .
It’s on my bucket list to make yeast rolls like grandmas and I’m 62 so I better get at it ! I tried about a month ago but they were hard as hockey pucks !! Lol but I guess I’ll try again this weekend! Wish me luck !! Love you miss Gina!! 😍❤️🤓from East Tennessee!!
I grew up in the south and have been aching to learn how to make these. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. My rolls came out perfectly!! And I adore your personality. 💕
I have been looking for this recipe for a very long time. My mother didn't bake much, but my mother-in-law surely did! This is very much like her recipe! She would mix it up (by hand) the night before and put in the fridge overnight and take it out in the morning to rise in her gas oven, not on, but warm from the pilot light. Once risen, would make the rolls, and let rise again and then cook them. She never used foil or parchment and they still came out of the pan perfectly. Yum, yum, yum! She never had the written recipe but im almost positive it was this one! Thank you so very much ❤ Subscribed today!
Gina, thanks for all your good recipes, this is just like my mom’s recipe and they really are so yummy. Makes me want to make them again today. I always let them rise again, it makes them lighter, I’m sure lots of folks will try these, then they too can spread the love of yeast baking.
Gina I have made many of your recipes, however, this was a flop for me. NOT your recipe but I didn't have the right mixer. Thanks a lot. I will give it another try.
Gr8 video. So easy to do. I want to make these this month. The Brown n serve rolls in the stores are not good anymore so I want to make my own. Homemade is always better.Tfs...✌☀
Drack Joe The type of flour so long as it is wheat is okay for this recipe, but you will want to use all purpose flour, not self rising!! I have never used other types of flour, so I would check comparisons if your using a glueten free type of flour or other than wheat four, glueten free or not! Either check on their packaging or look it up online!!! Sorry I don't have the other than wheat knowledge, but it seriously will be on packaging or definitely online!!! All of my love and the love, blessing and grace of the LORD, unto you and yours today and always!!!

Good to hear , now I’m going to make them this weekend because of your good review! Thank you
Hof
I love the way you admire these yeast rolls, the way you are happy about the effort you put in. God Bless you.
What can I say ,my first try ever that i made dinner rolls. They turned out soooo awesome, and thank you very much for this amazing recipe. Just wonderful. Greetings from Germany.
I made these for my family they turned out great. They loved em. Keeping this recipe. Thank you God Bless
These rolls were incredible! It truly made me feel proud to pull these golden brown soft fluffy rolls out of the oven and that I made them! Thanks for making me feel like a baker, and blessing us with this heavenly recipe. Thank you :)
Did you use bread flour or all-purpose flour, because she did not say which flour was used.
Delicious !! Thank you for sharing your recipe.
It's such a joy watching you cook. You cook with so much excitement! I pray for the very best for you and your family. God Bless!!!❤
Carrie Vaughn I call them tea towels too. 😊
In our house we always called the towels we used in the kitchen dish rags and t-towels.

Look delicious
Made these today and they were really good. I used milk instead of water. I had to adjust temp to 350 because my bottom oven had then browning too fast. Will make a new batch for Thanksgiving. I made these again on Thanksgiving adjusted temp to 350, cooked for 18 mins, they came out perfect. Fluffy and soft and buttery.
Gina darling thank you for sharing this recipe they look awesome
Judy Estrada YOU are so right, there is nothing like your mother's cooking! Miss you dearly, thanks mom for the memories! ☺
I was about to make the Rolls and the Korean Chicken and after gathering most of my ingredients, I found out that I didn't have any Flour so I will have to prepare my food tomorrow for Dinner after I buy the Flour. Thanks for the Recipe Gina.
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I've made these twice and they turned out perfectly. They are wonderful!!!
It's a keeper!
thanks
What type of flour did you use?
I yt?
Did u do a 2nd rise I am confused she said u don't have to but she did
@@cherokeeheartct8633 She said you don't have to if you put them straight in oven.
I know its been 4 years ago, but your such a lovely lady, thank you for your grandma's recipe.
Amen
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRESH YEAST. Check the expiration date. You may have just used expired yeast the last time.
Gina, thank you so much for sharing your recipe! Can’t wait to try this!
I love yeast rolls! This looks like a great recipe. Thank you for sharing stories about your grandmother.

I’ve never made bread before (well, without a bread machine haha!) so forgive me for having to ask this, but is the flour self rising??
Gina!!!
Best rolls ever! Thank you grandma Seward! Thank you Gina!👌🏾❤⭐
I made these rolls the where perfection, love the recipe my family really enjoyed them.
Hi Gina,
I have seen this video many many times but I finally decided to try the dinner roll recipe, OMG!
Thanks for your yeast rolls recipe Gina. It look so easy to make I have to try it. Also I like all your recipes they look so easy to make.

God bless!
Fixing for thanksgiving hope they turn out like yours, your rolls look so delicious thanks for sharing the recipe
Can you use bread flour with this recipe?

Hi this is a fantastic tutorial you explained every step you are a natural teacher ,I make my own yeast bread,I am going to make the yeast rolls in the next few days.
Thank you for all and good tips .
It’s on my bucket list to make yeast rolls like grandmas and I’m 62 so I better get at it ! I tried about a month ago but they were hard as hockey pucks !! Lol but I guess I’ll try again this weekend! Wish me luck !! Love you miss Gina!! 😍❤️🤓from East Tennessee!!
Same here. How did it go?
I grew up in the south and have been aching to learn how to make these. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. My rolls came out perfectly!! And I adore your personality. 💕
You are a good teacher!! These look amazing!
These are the dinner rolls I have used for over 3p years thank u for sharing.
Gina! Girrrlll, you are killing me with your eating sounds. I fell short of reaching thru my screen and grabbing that roll from your hands🤣🤣🤣 oow!!!!!
Love your Spirit God bless you for sharing this recipe from your grandma I’m definitely going to try it
Gr8 video. So easy to do. I want to make these this month. The Brown n serve rolls in the stores are not good anymore so I want to make my own. Homemade is always better.Tfs...✌☀
Thank you. It is not just me !
I’m making these rolls right now. This is such an easy way so I’m very excited about it! Thank you for sharing your recipe with us!!!
What a wonderful teacher you are! I found this video by chance and subscribed😁😁
Those dinner rolls are beautiful. I am going to try to make those tomorrow. Thank you for sharing yet another awesome recipe.
Egg wash makes them so shiney and beautiful. Try that sometime and butter them when your ready to eat. yum yum.
I agree...great point. An egg, add a spoon of water and stir, then use a brush to shine them up.
Does it matter what kind of flour to use for making rolls..yummy looks so tasty
Drack Joe
The type of flour so long as it is wheat is okay for this recipe, but you will want to use all purpose flour, not self rising!!
Thank you Jacquelyn' for Your help here. You Have A Bless One Nice' Lady.
no stand mixer. Darn
I made these for the first time ever wow to my surprise they were perfect and tasted amazing
I’m so glad I found your channel and I can’t wait to try making these rolls! 😊
It worked. They are great, so fine grained. Thank you.
