Possibly the best monitor in terms of performance, zero ghosting and smearing effect in panel, fastest input latency to date. No other monitor is faster even the sweaty zowie screens. The brightness is mot an issue if you want to save your eyes strain
TBH I was looking for your review on this one but couldn’t find it. I ended up buying it a couple weeks ago at a good discount and so far, very happy with it. I use it at like 70-80% brightness in a well lit room and have no issues.
I have been doing side by side comparisons with the aw27 qdoled and the lg so far picture wise is smoking it. Blacks look much cleaner. Colors pop way more on the lg. idk maybe I have funky settings on Alienware. I’m going to keep comparing.
The brightness fluctuation is actually a vrr problem that happens on almost all oled tech. It’s not as apparent on console but on the pc it’s hideous. Only option is to turn off g-sync or freesync.
Yeah, its weird he just only says negative thing 99% of the vid.. he said this display had REALLY strong matte and he is straight up lying lmao, i own this display and its one of the least noticable matte displays ive seen.

It's a fantastic monitor considering your options amongst OLED monitors in this size. Some people just really hate matte coatings. His review is so far off from every other review.
I use the same Monitor, clearType fixed my text issues and with optimized (correct) picture settings, you don't have any visible dirt effects at all. Only if you sit 20cm in front of it. I have a LG TV with a glossy panel, but for pc i like matt coating more. If you like more a glossy panel, there a clear screenprotector for monitors, it reduce the matt coating a lot.
Hey! Would you recommend getting the GS95QE or the XG27AQDMG? I‘m wanting to buy my first OLED monitor on black friday, along with a PS5 or an SeriesX. I‘ll be playing many Singleplayer games, but a goof bit of comp too. Is there a huge difference in Picture quality between the Matte and the Glossy coating, especially when playing Singleplayer games in HDR? Which one would you pick? Any answer helps😊

all of the counter arguments for an OLED monitor fly out of the window for me the second I start a videogame. Makes every con worth it for the brief enjoyment
I had an lg monitor a while ago that I had to return because of the dirty screen effect from the matte finish. From what I know almost all of lg's matte finishes are like that
rtings seem to love matte finishes. I wonder sometimes if that pushes companies to use matte. The GP950's semi-gloss is great and my C1's glossy screen is beautiful. LG's gaming monitors have become kinda bad (I have the 27gr95um mini-led and it's "gamer profiles" dim bad in HDR depending on the scene).
Yea rtings are great at testing, but bad at objectively looking at products and formulating opinions especially based on value. This is extremely apparent with their keyboard reviews, no hate all love, but we all have our place in the tech reviewing space.
Imo, qd-oled is the next big thing. Regular oleds just do not stack up. And its so apparent. Even a 3000 dollar woled is imo significantly worse than a 1600-2200 qd oled TV. Main example i can think of is Lg G4 vs Samsung s90d and s95d. Those tvs just blow the LG out of the water its not close at all. Same way qd oled monitors are just better. In my opinion
When you say Dirty screen effect, are you referring to the actual amount of grain the coating has? Because even if the grain is severe, it shouldn't really be categorized into DSE since that one represents an actual uniformity of the panel itself (discrepancy of brightness and uniformity of color across the board).
How is this monitor for video editing and productivity with occasional gaming? Did you experience any eye strain as I've heard OLED monitors use pwm at lower brightness.
For video editing the QD OLEDs from Samsung are much better. Text clarity on this panel suffers and pales in comparison to the QD OLEDs. Hope this helps!
If you experience eye strain, I highly suggest you avoid using OLED monitors with a glossy display as it will give you headaches. Ironically, the matte finish OLEDs actually softens the image to a point that it doesn’t give me eye strain at all during long sessions. The Samsung G6/G8 might be your best bet.
@@arondyte318 I think there are 2 factors that contribute to eye strain in OLED, a glossy finish and pwm flickering (its noticeable at low brightness, it almost feels like black bars moving across the screen). Really not sure if I should get an OLED or not 😅
This monitor has been out since January, this monitor is not worth even at its discounted price. You can get the ASUS XG27AQDMG for around the same price and it has a glossy finish, but it still has the old pixel layout so text clarity is still an issue.
